  1. At least I know where to steal one while the owner plays a round, thanks PMX
  2. Dave your exhaust sounds absolutely brilliant - probably the best Zed I've ever heard. Hate aftermarket alloys but yours look pretty sweet - not too dissimilar to OZ Superleggeras? Very nice car!
  3. Ouch, you really are unlucky what with all the gearbox issues too. Hope you get it sorted soon...
  4. Filed under "nice problems to have"
  5. That does seem like a large deposit but my guess is that Nissan isn't selling these at hugely inflated margins compared to Merc/BMW/Audi and most notoriously, Porsche (a new cayman with similar-ish performance would cost twice as much as a 370N). Perhaps they don't quite have the margin to play with when it comes to offering competitive finance deals?
  6. As a local, for any Zedders heading down there I strongly recommend you take a trip along the seafront up to Birling Gap - four amazing hairpins followed by a great hilltop route full of twists, turns and challenging cambers that ends in East Dean. My daily gymkhana route! Could well be busy but worth the trip, just watch out for the silver octavia estate ;-) DT
  7. I reckon quite a lot more. Mine's on a 4 year PCP and I'm paying a fair bit more than that. But yours was presumably new with PCP @ RRP of £37k? Popped into the local nissan dealer to see if they had one but it wasn't an HPC (nearest being Tunbridge Wells). Incidentally a P1 for the zed was £180!!
  8. Yeah but then I have to "register" my deets before i get a quote then get hounded to death for the next two years with calls, emails and junk mail etc. Happened before with Subaru / BRZ interest...
  9. how much would i be looking at on 36 month PCP, 10pc deposit for one of these (assuming it's a 30k "nearly new" jobby from a Nissan dealership?). 400 squid?
  10. Put 18k on RE050s and 7k on MPSS now and while I feel that the 050s are slightly under-rated the MPSS are quieter and grippier in the wet. I like the 050 for their consistency however - I've noticed the MPSS tend to change characteristics more as they heat up and cool down. We shouldn't forget that the car was designed for the Bridgestone compound and to me the way it handles (particularly with traction control off) is simply more "cohesive" than with the MPSS. However the latter are more "communicative" in general perhaps due to softer sidewalls but given how dull the 350z steering is you really have to be concentrating to notice the difference. Anyway in conclusion I'd get MPSS again simply because they're quieter on the motorway
  11. But 9,000 miles might be 12-18 months' driving for many owners - a long time to wait for the zorst to go all Kate Moss?
  12. Don't laugh but after many months of trying to find the source of a similar sounding squeak it was traced to the rear bumper plastic chaffing against the boot / rear 3/4 panels! Investigate this before shelling out for new links...
  13. Annoying how you'd have to consider dropping another chunk of change on a new exhaust but I guess that's a nice problem to have. Looks great in black and only needs the handles and badges painted black to complete the look. Mean.
  14. Very tidy example, probs a forum car, parked my tatty 2005 black 350z behind you just to show how well detailed yours is. Btw doing 15 laps in an Atom today, was nice knowing y'all...
  15. Fully insured - hotel would cover it and then some.
  16. Having spent an unfortnate amount of time on the highways of Ontario I can confirm that the sheer size of Canada renders a 60mph limit somewhat ridiculous and the scenery isn't much compensation because the place is so damn flat. However 60mph does make more sense in the context of -40c weather conditions...
  17. It is hilarious when cars on the M25 bunch around the 55mph police rangie for fear of getting done. OK so I don't blast past them at 90 but somebody has to take the initiative and it often falls to the Zed with a big 'ring sticker on the back. Job done.
  18. AFAIK most engines are designed achieve peak efficiency at 55mph - US highway cruising speed.
  19. Err, total waste of good chromium? why does it need to be stainless???
  20. Oh I thought everything with "GT" in the name was eligible for entry into LM GT3
  21. Bizarre - would it not be more appropriate racing in the GT3 class, especially from a marketing standpoint?
  22. It's running lower than that - 800 x 600! It has an HDMI input but downscales it. Picture quality is OK but not the last word in crisp detail - the image size and 70" screen immersion aspect makes up for it. It's a temporary bedroom solution while my 50" 1080p plasma is unavailable... Off topic, thoroughly enjoying the new tomb raider, really atmospheric with tremendous graphics. Solid reboot even if it's copying Uncharted a bit too much?
  23. Will be very interesting to see how Nissan develop that delta wing design over the next ten years - could well be the next evolution in aero and handling dynamics. Will we ever see it in a road car though?
  24. Or half of whatever the popular vernacular is for "one thousand English pounds" A "grand" I hear you say??
