I bought a kit from them a few weeks ago (the road rash kit). Paint match was absolutely spot on, its quite an involved process to fix, more then just a touch-up pen, but the results are much better

I cant actually see a metal band!! eeeks!! That is because there is not any on the OEM strut. Alex. Really, weird, I must have had non-oem struts then.
-
Massively brighter. I use mine at night when reversing as like reverse headlights.
-
You don't had to cut them open. You can use a screwdriver and some plairs. Use the screwdriver to pop the metal band away from the main shaft, the just keep pulling and twisting and the clip will seperate from the body of the piston. Once the clip is removed, a light tap will move the piston off of its bolt.

Reverse light would be one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T20-White-6-LED-Projector-Lens-Driving-Lamp-Turning-Braking-Bulb-30W-for-Auto-/181295328213?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a360b2bd5 but yeah, you need load resistors to do the indicators, and it isn't something I've done on the Z

How/what are you having issues with?

The little square light is the user selectable shift indicator light, just blinks when you should change gear. The gear changes are normally rather clunky, so if yours is smooth then it's better than normal

Who has owned a Hyundai coupe or a Toyota Celica before moving onto a zed?
cs2000 replied to ostego's topic in 350Z General
I also has a gen 7 celica before the zed, did consider a Hyundai coupe genII however. -
Damn-it lol! If someone else has non connect premium where the maps load from a DVD, give me a PM and il sort you out with a test disk of the new maps (2013 maps). Theres no guarantee it will work, hence why I just sent a single disk so far!
-
The zeds are very clean generally. Again, using Seafoam, but did my celica on 100,000 miles ish & the cloud of smoke that came out of that was incredible. Kept smoking for about 15 mins aswell. I did the zed on around 60,000 and there wasn't a cloud to be seen, just a few puffs and that was it. As RT says though, 98 RON fuel has cleaners in it, and its only ever been ran on premium fuel, generally Vpower.

If anyone near to Ipswich wants to try this I don't mind supervising and providing the grease, I can even bring the stupidly large 32mm(?) heavy duty deep socket that I bought especially for the job, I bought a massive tube of lubricant and only used a tiny amount of it, loads spare and no use for it.

Sent the DVD to Gstraw yesterday 1st class, with any luck he should be able to try it today and let us all know

Stupid 350Z Owners - Stories from the U.S.A.!
cs2000 replied to WINKJ's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Yeah sure, your 6.5Ltr v8 developing 250 bhp.... Not being "americanist" but their motor engineering department is severely lacking behind Europe. We would have something like 5-600 bhp out of an engine that size, its not all about the CC's. -
Don't worry, I knew what you meant . Still give you a for that anyway, id do it and ram it into the barrier so...

1. How far you drive per day on average as part of your job - From 15 miles to 400 miles per day 2. What do you drive, what do you do - 350z/VW Caddy van, IT Engineer 3. Best bit of about driving - Nice twisty roads in the Zed 4. Worst bits - Traffic jams, or any long journey in a boring vehicle 5. Do you have admin to complete with your job - Yes 6. How many times do you fill up per week - Once 7. Where else do you stop off during the day apart from a petrol station - Service stations if im hungry, Mcdonalds and the like. 8. Do you use the same place - No 9. Is filling up a pain - No 10. What is the biggest pain about filling up - Paying for fuel... 11. Do you use BP, and if so what makes you come back - No. 12. What would make you use BP more - Nothing 13. What petrol station brand do you use most - Shell On a side note, I don't use BP stations as I tend to find theyre overpriced compared to other local stations, and im sure its a "head thing" but the fuel never seem to get me as far. I drive out of my way to my local shell, and will hunt for them if im "on the road" and need to fill up. As to why? For absolutely no reason, I regard their fuel as superior to anything on the market. Maybe their close Ferrari partnership helps as im an avid F1 fan, I mean, there's got to be a reason Ferrari/Shell have been partners for so long right?

Im sure a lot of people have done it by accident, but he just appeared to lose almost no speed and stopped the spin on a dime, and on a track, that's what impressed me

This guy is epic. 360 degree entry into a perfectly held drift... Sorry if

They look cool! At 1:25 scale these should do 6 mph ish. The scale of the model also relates to the scale of the speed. So top speed, limited of somewhere around 155, divide this by 24 ad it's the scale, sorted

I wouldn't worry too much about a CAT C. On my previous car (Celica) I lady hit my bumper at 5 MPH, this warped the bumper meaning a new one from Toyota, plus paint, plus labour, total cost of 1,300. A small front-end crash would probably be enough to write one of these off of that kinda age. Id hazard a guess a new front bumper from Nissan would be 1,500, new set of lights, 1,300, washer jets 200 and so it goes on. You could be upto 4k in repaid in no time at all.

Better fix for Bose sub cutting out - replacing relay
cs2000 replied to Jimbo Mahoney's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
The closest I could fine for sale in the UK is from Farnell. http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/mccma51-s-dc12v-c/relay-spdt-12vdc-20a/dp/2008759 Basically the same, but this relay has a slightly lower coil resistance by around 40 ohms. Maybe worth trying it anyway? I don't suffer from the problem...yet... -
Think ive had a "spirited drive" with you before, seeing your picture of the car anyway Yes I think we have! Was it you I saw pulling out of the Shell garage about 5:30pm yesterday? Heh, good bit of fun that was! Yes it would have been, I was running on fumes! Or no, depending what I was aledged to be doing....

It's 0.04 milliamperes . So there. Lol

True, but now im going to have to measure it due to my need to know! Damn you husky! lol

Sorry guys, realized that the data to be burnt to a DVD is 7.something Gigabytes, this meant I had to find some Dual Layer DVD's. Managed to find out that my DVD burner supports DVD+R DL format disks so some are on the way to me. The question is, is the DVD reader in the Zed a DVD+R DL drive, or a DVD-R DL drive! the + and - are very important. Either way, once I have the disks il send gstraw a test disk, if his Zed reads it then happy days, we have update disks for the non connect premium cars. If not, il have to find a DVD burner that supports the DVD-R DL format, get some new disks and give that a shot. Want to get this working as im guessing a large chunk of 370 drivers don't have the connect premium package and instead have the systems where the DVD must stay in the drive to read the maps from it. If this works il be able to supply 25 DVD's. Bloody technology!
