    I only get to drive at the weekend so the cover stays on during the week. It's nice to be able to wash the car, stick the cover on and then take it off the following week and find it still nice and clean . Before I had the cover, I'd wash the car and within half a day it would be mucky again. Ah makes more sense now then. I can see the appeal

    depends they could get lumped with a £2000 first year Well yes in theory he is right. Year 2 at the 70's current RRP will be £140 a year. Bargain.

    IF it was a timing issue then surely its not going to be that hard to sort. He mentions a specialist has looked into it thought which makes me wonder its something more sinister.

    Always wondered about these. Do you put the cover on every night or just when you go on Holiday etc? Seems like a lot of effort if the cars a daily.

    Interesting VED from 2017 onwards. I imagine a lot of new cars will retail at £39,999 in the future then! http://www.autoexpre...ar-tax-overhaul So if the Z is still for sale in 2017 and its still under 40k then it will be the same price to tax in year 2 onwards as a Prius!

    Welcome to the forum Neil. I like this reply from a dealer but I would concur that a test drive is probably the biggest part of the sale. I am not sure what your setup is like though. If your on a test drive, is there some else to help out with other potential sales?

    ok, but the failure of a rocker cover gasket is of relative minor importance compared to the oilway gasket and its not going to result in your engine self destructing - I'm sure someone will correct me on this! Well it leads to the car eating oil so quite serious if you don't keep on topping it up

    Yeah the Nissan Rays are not very light. The 19" ones from the 70 are within 5% of a cast Rota in the same size. These 18" ones are a great looking wheel though and a lot lighter than the standard 50 18's.

    Seems dodgy as TBH a test drive sells the Z if its in good condition.

    The DE oil gasket issue is far more common so I wouldn't worry about this one too much 70 owners. Very good detail from the OP but this is the first time I have heard about this problem this side of the pond.

    Very Jealous. Got two very early mornings for work Wed/Thu and will be on a 7pm Euro Tunnel on Thurs. Cant wait to get on the track again, early hours Friday morning if its still open.
