Thanks for the replies guys. I have mine on the loud setting too, guess i am going to live with it or have a better look at the wiring. The HU was fitted to the car when i bought it so no idea hows its wired in!

Well one of the earth wires was way back down near where the B pillar would be on a normal car. There is 4 screw holes over where the Bose sub is, maybe he had an amp mounted there?! Ill check to see if its still a Bose sub, if its not that might indicate it was definitely some sort of audio kit. Bit odd to have it on a switch though! Well it gets odder, the wire seems to split into 3, 2 go to earth points and one is spliced into the top left connector on the far left plug below. Ideas anyone?

Insured with Admiral and the quote was through confused.com which i believe is also owned by the admiral group, so a pretty well known company, not heard any horror stories through them.

Is it a remote boot pop button? It's not boot pop unfortunately. It must do something though as it still glows red when on. Should hopefully be home in an hour to find out!

Definitely not rear fog, that works off the stalk and i had a look around last night with the car on/lights running etc. Didn't check the boot though so could be something in there.

Well after a nice lunchtime drive to pick up some last minutes for V day i have found out the car is very quick! But the switch doesn't turn the fan on or stop the mileage, and unfortunately doesnt give me a shot of 100bhp NOS! Found the wire and it goes down to the plastic panel near right foot and then i imagine backwards down the side sills. Will follow it back tonight.....exciting!

Me too! Going to try and follow the wire tonight but i imagine it will just go behind the dash and disappear! Ill check on the fan tonight, keep the ideas coming

Well i am well and truly stumped with this one! Definitely not on the HU, couldnt find the wire so looks like i am going to have to live with it!

TBH the first thing i did think of was undercar neons lol! Did that in the garage this morning, cant hear anything at all. No odd wiring in the engine bay either.

Very odd! Maybe ill send a letter to the old owner to ask. He PX'd it with a dealer so only have his home address though. He was from Wrexham and the plate he had was JJZ 3507. Anyone know it? Yeah did that tonight no lights go on unfortunately Will have a look at the wiring on the weekend.

Its definitely UK spec, button does look aftermarket so could be something random. I did check it didnt turn some gastly lights on lol

What does this switch do? Turned it in and off doesnt seem to do anything other than light up the switch?! Did do a search but couldnt find anything. Cheers (again) Adam

Hmmm maybe its something to do with if speed sensitive volume was turned on (Bose) before the HU was changed? And since there is no option on this HU to turn it on/off its always on?! Very odd, will have a dig around tonight and potentially take the HU out to check connections on the rear then will update all
