Hello All, Some of you may be shocked at the title because yes Japfest has changed its venue from the Old faithful (Castle Combe) to the new shiny Silverstone. Quite a few things have changed this year with the booking process, so please read the below instructions carefully. What will be staying the same is that we have a combined stand with the 300ZX club and Z Club, so it should be a good turn out for the Z's. New Self Service Booking System Japfest have changed the way club bookings work this year, meaning that individual club members can book their own tickets and vehicle passes for the clubs stand. The GTR is a big, heavy 4 seater that feels like an A4 to drive unless youre on maximum attack, suffice to say the Cayman doesnt. 370Ad, I can see your point but what if you dont get IMS (like 95% of owners dont) .......... or if you buy a car with a DFI engine (post Jun 08)? So so wrong. Your usually right but way out of the park here The 987 is the perfect 15k sports car until you mention IMS and that firmly puts it at the bottom of the list. Sad but true. The 370Z is 8/10 in pretty much every category where as the Porsche is all over the place. 10/10 for driving pleasure but 2/10 for reliability, I view things the same as Microsoft does on its hardware speed test, I choose the worst score overall and that's what the car gets as a whole. So the second we start comparing a DFI Cayman to a 370, your case is completely shot? Good to know. IMS really isn't as big a deal as people make it out to be. Agreed the Mk2 987 is definitely the one to pick but they start around 23-24k! Quite a price jump and not really in the same league as a 370Z anymore. Saying the IMS problem is not really as bad as its all made out to be is fine on paper. But I know that every small noise, every oil check and every trackday I would be worrying about it. I imagine you guys would too... Probably the reason you went Mk2 on the 997 Ekona?!

I would be very surprised that you can kill a clutch in 6.5k miles unless you do really like riding it. I understand everyone elses points of view on going aftermarket as its better but after dropping 30k+ on a car I would be devastated. Part of the reason for going for a new car is that its underwarranty. Just as an FYI I have done 57k in my 370 and in this time its done 4 track days/sessions. The clutch is perfectly fine still.
