  1. Had to get the zed out today as haven't had it driving for nearly 4 weeks! Today of all days! Praise The Lord for rainex (highly recommend by the way!)
  2. I know it would be good to get an uprev, as I it would now for me. But in stage one I'm just trying to get the foundations for the power. I'll only get an uprev at this stage if I had to (ie damaging engine, car not running etc). In which case I'll change these particular mods to stage 2. Thanks for your input, I'm looking in to this injectors now. Will probably get them from the states as they fit in a suitcase quite nicely ;-) noticed there is 725cc and 1000cc for same price ($708). Is there any difference in quality? Realistically I'm not looking at more than 450bhp (I don't think?!), so what would be the recommended?
  3. First of all merry Christmas to the forum members! So I've owned my zed for two years now. I was considering purchasing a GTR in the next couple of years, but with house buying, girlfriend and investments, that is out the picture now. We will see how time progresses, but in the meantime.... So my goal is a 3 year project, not necessarily a power monster but a high quality FI build. I have pretty much managed to keep my car standard so far apart from aem short ram, plenum spacer and stainless y-pipe (and a back box which came with car, whic I am unsure of the make). I want to keep the car standard looking, but will pop a v2 front bumper probably at the stage one stage. Stage 1: supporting mods such as coilovers, Poly bushes and wheels (I want a maximum width wheel without bodywork mods and a 30mm drop and no more than 18" rim). Anything in the engine bay which doesn't need to be remapped (this will be done initially after stage 2). Possibly a cosworth plenum (not sure if this would be necessary with other mods, and value for money if that makes sense). Perhaps HFC's are appropriate at this stage? Not sure if it's a good idea to run standard cats for FI? Stage 2: engine rebuild. From this stage onwards I would really appreciate some expertise in this area. Forged pistons and con rods, plus any other parts that are needed (or recommended), perhaps a new crank. Would like to keep original cams, but depending on condition, may replace for Oem. This will be followed by an uprev. Stage 3: Supercharge - what injectors to get (dw don't look good from recent threads). Anything else that I will need on top of the vortech v-3 kit? Am I correct in saying this kit comes with a FMU and fuel pump? With regards to timing, can this be done with the uprev (if I trailered it), or do I need a piggy back ecu? I'm pretty new to this FI thing and would really appreciate some expertise and experience from the guys who have gone that way. I am planning to start when the weather improves a bit!
  4. If you need one, I have a rear motor, arm and blade. That's only because I took mine off. IMO keep it as it is
  5. Do you get a heat shield with the injen? Not sure if it makes much difference anyway
  6. Does it have a smurf on the back? Saw this the other day parked in Bournemouth.
  7. I do perhaps 4k a year now, car is on 90k on a 54 plate. I do make sure I change the oil each year though, so I think if you look at service intervals carefully you should be ok. Oil needs to be changed every year, coolant every 2 years (I think) etc etc What you don't want is a car doing 3k a year and oil change every 10k!
  8. You can't polish a turd! Seriously, get some second hand brembos as bounty said... You won't regret it!
  9. Haha, guilty! I do have this key ring (and yes it does fit my 350z key). Nice quality product, and for £7 an absolute steal!
  10. Glad you got it sorted nothing worse than not knowing the fault. A good write up for anybody who may encounter similar problems in the future
  11. I thought the yellow one was an F355... Must be my eyes!
  12. Basically what they said^^ I wouldn't be put off by a higher mileage car. I would much rather a 90k car that's been looked after than a 40k car that hasn't. I am sure you are aware if you have been reading through the forums but I am going to say it anyway... The zed should not be run on standard 95 ron unleaded. Good luck with the hunt!

    Lovin' this!

Means the current gtr should drop price! Edit: does anyone know how to use smilies on tapatalk? Just invested £2.99 on it
  14. I got the exact same one. DO NOT fit the pipe. I noticed the inside had metal filings. I fitted the filter on its own to replace my pop charger and lasted 10 minutes before going rusty. I now have an aem short ram. Can't fault it and is a premium quality kit. If you don't like noise, just go for a panel filter.

    canards

Reflectors will probably get in the way
  16. Give rt performance a message! :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. Did you feel any difference with the plenum spacer? Not really, if anything at all. To get the gain, you will need to uprev your car. I think then you will notice a difference but mostly will be from the re map. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  18. Latest he put in that number plate was private so would have to wait 2 weeks for collection... Bye bye deposit whoever paid that! Could be wrong of course!
  19. This is really bad luck. I hope you get it sorted. They seem to be a reputable company from what you have already said so I would just go in explain the situation without getting the daggers out. Seems there has been a trend of engines giving up recently
  20. Plus "so the collection date will be 2 weeks later" Trading Standard or Inland Revenue, who would be most interested ? I'll re word it just to be clear. He said he wasn't in until the auction ended... I interpreted that as I couldn't come and see it! Just seems a bit iffy to me along with his low feedback score and previous feedback comment. Lovely looking car though!
