  1. I was in a similar position as you a year ago. I decided to just go for a DAS6 Pro dual action polisher and teach myself.

    My advice would be:

    1. Have a read of this guide: http://www.detailing...dapolishing.pdf

    2. Get an old scrap bonnet to practice on if you're worried about experimenting on your car.

    3. Don't be afraid, they're easy enough to use and hard to do damage with.

Amazing, thanks for this! Read the guide, very thorough! Also joined the detailing world forum and got £15 discount on the DAS6 Pro dual action polisher :) I bought 8 pads (different sizes and finishes) and a small backing plate. Luckily I have an old Merc to practice on before my new car arrives. I used to be a Yellow GT4 owner :(

  2. Hi guys,

I'm interested in purchasing a machine polisher but I am wary as I'm not sure I'll be able to use it correctly. I have checked a number of reviews and watched some videos but would really like to be shown how to use one properly. Does anyone know of any suppliers that will offer a demo of the product? I'm located just north of the border (near Carlisle/Dumfries). Failing that is any generous member willing to show me how to use one? I'm up in Edinburgh quite a bit.

    Thanks,

    Ewan

  3. Yes shame on you Bounty Bar Kid for making a light hearted, off the cuff remark, especially since you added a winky face to demonstrate this. What you said should be taken completely seriously, and you should be made to feel ashamed for being so cold hearted - thanks Dblock (plus points for the belittling "nor should you", that should really hit home)

  4. I wasn't sure so aired on the side of caution. But yes, * some* centre caps would be good ;-) Are they rays?

  5. Frustratingly I don't physically have it! It's 60 miles from me but I haven't even seen it in the flesh yet. It arrived on the 10th July, but the import company are still dealing with paper work, tests etc. Hopefully have it in a couple of weeks where I can give it a proper clean and photograph shoot.

Here's a link to the album of photos the import company sent me if you're interested.

It's only the V6, which has a 4l engine but produces a mere 210bhp! But you don't buy a Mustang for the performance I suppose :)

  6. Cheers for that Dave, I guess I'm more apprehensive with posting on car forums after experiencing a Mustang forum. As an example, someone put up a Porsche Boxter for sale. The ADMIN replied with, "I think there may be some faggots on here that like Porsche's" That was the last word on the post. Just not such a friendly bunch as (most) of you lot. I think I'll stay here and pretend I still have a Z, photograph myself standing next to a parked up 1. Or maybe just put Z badges on my Mustang and hope no one notices, until I come to a meeting and I get left in the dust :)
