Alex, if i'd spotted your message before i left work i'd have popped up just to see your Z in the flesh again! Hell Presidente, i'll definitely need to swing by some time soon & go a drive with you if thats cool? Didn't realise the ARK was so loud, although i suspect the test pipes are playing a big part in that too!

What sort of exhaust setups are folks running? I fancy a change but really terrified of some of the raspy Zs i've seen/heard around. What exhausts are you running & where are you based? Particularly keen to hear the likes of the ARK GRiP, Motordyne, Inifinity etc in person! I'm in Edinburgh so the closer the better. Currently running ARK HFCs & full scorpion system. Cheers!

A little late to the party, i run Rota Torque Drifts with Brembos. et20 is the sweet spot all round, which unfortunately we don't get in the the UK/EU. 18x9.5 et30 on these do not clear brembos, i'd estimate you need to be around et22 before they do, so again the et20s would be perfect. Front: I'm 18x9.5 et30 front with a 10mm hubcentric spacer & extended bolts. This leaves just a couple mm clearance to the brembo caliper. Also running a 255/35/18 tyre. No issues at all with this setup. Rear: I'm 18x9.5 et12. With a 275/35/18 tyre they do poke our a bit if you are at stock height, if your lowered without adjusting the camber they *just* fit into the arches, you could either run a little extra camber for more clearance or roll the rear arch lip for bags of clearance again.

Hey folks, i realise i never really brought this to any conclusion, so figured i'd take the time to just say thanks again for the input & images you guys provided & also share the rest of my experience fitting these. In summary, i had 18x9.5 ET12 for the rear & 18x9.5 ET30 for the fronts. The ET30 is not enough to clear those Brembo callipers, an extra 3mm is required for the wheel to be able to rotate (this leaves you with literally 1mm clearance). Not happy with only having 1mm clearance, i'd was looking at running a 5mm spacer, 5mm spacers use up almost the entire hubcentric collar, i do track days so have the wheels on & off quite frequently & the through of having to take so much time & care to centre the wheels each time i fit them wasn't an option. Not to mention i have a bit of an irrational fear about the collar not having any purchase on the wheel in general. The smallest spacer i could fit & retain the hubcentric collar was 10mm (with extended bolts), so this was the route i took. This essentially brought the fronts to ET20 which was ironically the fitment i was always after but we cant seem to get them in the UK/Europe. With the car at stock height they did poke out a little further than i'd have liked so i bought some coilovers & fitted those too. Some pics of the final fitment: And one of the ample Brembo clearance & spacer. If i was really fussy, i might have tried an ET35 on the front with the 10mm spacer so they would sit 5mm closer to the calliper, the wheel bolts would stick out a little further on the ET35 too though, & i prefer how discreet the bolts are sunk into the ET12 rears! Cheers

Seemed to be a fair amount of interest though, maybe worth starting a new thread with clear details? I'm definitely game.

well jealous of how nice a fitment all you guys get! Stevo, i'm at stock height & this corner of the car is sitting a little high due to the wooden ramp, foam block & the handbrake is still on too so it definitely would settle a little closer to the car when its flat & free from the handbrake. Like i said i'll do a more thorough test tomorrow in daylight, the numbers all add up so it should really sit spot on like your guys setups do, fingers crossed its just me making a mess of the fit. Looks like i'll need spacers for the front though unfortunately
-
Thats the car lowered to the ground, there's a foam block between the wooden ramp & the rim that you can see there! 350ad, cheers for the pics, it looks like your rim pokes outside the arch a little too, i'll have another crack at fitting them on saturday in the daylight & see if my opinion changes then!

Here are 2 snaps i took in very poor lighting while i was fitting them. ET12 top & ET30 bottom. ET 12 ET30

Do either of you have any images from above the wheel arches looking down? I wonder how much tyre/rim you can see outside the arch. Since the tyres taper back in the way toward the car i might just be over reacting as im looking at mine without any tyres.
-
Good thinking! But i've been lowering the rim down onto a thick foam block. Its possible that the car still sits a little higher with the handbrake etc all still on but the rim definitely still has some poke! I'll have another shot this weekend & try it in daylight. Still not sure what to do about the front though I don't think i'll have any option but to run with spacers!

Me neither mate, i'll take some photos of how it looks in the daylight, only had them lit by the garage lighting before. I'm based in Edinburgh although i've only seen 3 or 4 Zs around town!

Cheers for the suggestions so far guys, i've message CS too. Kyle, the problem with the torques is they come in limited sizes in the europe, if there was a 9.5 ET20 i'd be all over it! Frustratingly, according to an offsets calculator ( http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator) Your rears running 10.5" & ET20 (which look perfect by the way) should apparently poke out an extra 5mm compared to the 9.5" ET12 i currently have, but when i trial fitted them, the outer edge of my rim was well clear of the lip of the arch! Where as yours seems to sit pretty much directly beneath it Is yours an import Kyle? You have any more images of your setup, its exactly what i'd like, except with the torques ideally!

Hey folks, I've done a fair bit of research into these, big fan of the looks & i'd like some wider wheels for track days (preferably no spacers too). 90% of the photos online were of american Zs running 18x9.5 ET20 all round & using a staggered tyre setup. I've seen some examples of UK spec Zs running them at ET30 & ET12 too. I decided to take a gamble & ordered a set at ET12 for the rear & ET30 for the fronts so i could see for myself how the wheels measured up. So for me, the ET12s seem to stick pretty far out the rear wheel arch (not seem them with tyres on yet, so this trialling with just the rim bolted to the car) And the ET30s at the front foul the Brembo calipers, looks like they would need maybe a 5-10mm spacer to make up the clearance. I tried fitting the ET30 to the rear too, it sits a little further under the wheel arch than i'd like but it seems to be more acceptable than the ET12, although as another niggle with these the driveshaft pokes through the hole a little so i couldnt use a flush centre cap. I'm now trying to make up my mind if i should return the ET12s & run the ET30 on the rears & order a pair of 8.5" ET35 for the fronts & put them on the 20mm spacers i'm currently running with the Rays. Or sack the lot off & return them all. Has anyone had any experience with these wheels & what setups work/look best? I don't understand how there are threads like the ones below, which seem to show the same wheels with such different results? http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/147-newbie-intro/70821-hi.html http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/60510-18-rota-torque-drifts-with-falken-452-tyres/ Anyone else had any experience with these alloys? Or want to help console me? Ta!

Cheers Alex, I should've came straight to you!

Hey folks, I cannot for the life of me remove the old O2 sensors from my exhaust. I nipped round to a trustworthy mechanic to see if he could have a go & he says he's about 80% certain if we apply any more force i'm gonna be looking at stripped threads or even snapped sensors. With that in mind & to avoid any garage labour bills i've decided its probably more economical to get 2x 2nd hand Lambda sensors & fit them with the new cats. There are 2 Lambdas on each side of the car, do any of them differ from one another? Or am i alright to just get another 2 of them & plug them right in? Cheers!
