The fact they feel the same is what bugs me, is it possible the fall off on the Bridgestones is equal to new falkens in the wet?
-
Hey guys another issue! (think im cursed!) My steering has been feeling light recently and its bugging me. I had some new tyres today Falken 452's on, bridgestone potenze 50a's off (worn down + puncture) went for a drive tonight (yes new tyres and slightly wet roads) but I couldnt feel a bit of difference at all, the car felt a little more planted but the steering still felt light and floaty. Bit more detail, its most apparant at lower speeds, high speed feels a bit tighter, going into most corners pushing the wheel feels quite effortless like theres no resistance, on a flat surface with slight undulations the floatyness comes and goes, holding the wheel straight you can sometimes feel the weight shift on and off, if you start weaving there feels like a 5 degree dead zone before you get any real resistance, the car still responds within this deadzone but feels light, it doesnt feel like i have to turn it 5 degrees before it does anything. Parrel park it alot and that feels fine but on some 90 degree turns it feels like Im turning the wheel more than im used it. So question is whats up? Is its a)cant spot an difference on new tyres in the wet and I should wait for a nice day before I say I cant feel the difference b)Theres some steering issue and its masking the feedback id be getting otherwise c)im over thinking everything and looking for problems! Ive read up on similar posts and lots of people saying wheel alignment, how quickly does it fall out of alignment? I couldnt say one day it felt fine and the next it doesnt but it feels subtly different over the past 2 months would this indicate some sort of bush/linkage issue rather than something like a pothole knocking a wheel out? Its a bit of a mystery!

Hey guys Ive got some work im doing and I picked up a trim removal tool http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_199487_langId_-1_categoryId_255216 Just wondering if theres any good guides on how to safely remove trim? I release every panel is different but there must be a good guide for what to use where, roughly how much pressure to use and how to tackle the 100's of different fastening devices!

mine does the same, id never thought it might be a common issue actually! I was going to get it checked out but if its a 'feature' il just leave it, It does work if you really pull on the handle but very annoying! What causes it?

This +1000 Possibly the most accurate post I have seen on here in a while. Shocking! hehe, seems like common sense to me, i was looking for my z over 6 months to find the right one for me, I did want a white one but in the end colour wasnt the deciding factor I got a red 04 full GT 350z with 38k on the clock in lovely condition which im very happy with, it wasnt the cheapest on offer but then if you aim for the bottom you start compromising, best to go for a good average price but set yourself stricter limits on what you want quality wise and dont start thinking "ya but for that price its a good deal" when you start finding things that make you uneasy! Also taking colour out of the equation although theyre not a common car theres plenty of them dont rush into something!
-
2nd hand cars are all about compromise, which aspects do you want to comprise on and thats different for everyone some people focus on a colour, some people are extremly niggly about the slightest mechanical details etc etc. Work out what it is you really want and what it is you dont, (you should obv include price in that catagory! are you bothered about paying a bit extra to get what you want or is the cost a rigid limit) once your sure then stick to your guns and dont compromise, just dont expect to get everything on your list at the price you want!

I've a thing for white ones, but at the end of the day I decided it was more important to have a car that was mechanicly sound in as good condition as possible than have one in the exact colour I wanted, and the red is very sexy and reasonably rare

So Ive got my lovely new aerial, but i cant get the damn old one off, is there a trick? reading the manual it sound slike its a simple screw in, of course ive no idea what the current stubby is other than very firmly screwed in! +1 indicators are orange, brake lights are red and reverse lights are white, only your headlights are for your benifit!
-
not great is it? I do love the 370 lights though, the square lights on the 350 are its worst feature personally, not much you can really do apart from those mad eyes which arent great either.

That would be most helpful if you didnt mind

ah ha that could well be it then, id assumed since the rest of the car was standard when i bought it the aerial was too! So S2000 Aereial then? bets place to buy? I peeked on ebay but i cant see any genuine ones just ones which fit.

Hi guys Had my Z a month now and im looking into some radio issues, when I bought the car at first all I could get was 1 local FM station, the car went to the dealer (not Nissan) for another issue and now all it gets is a certain national radio station. I have.... 54 plate UK Z, a stubby of some sort (im guessing the standard nissan if there is such a thing?) Having read through numerous previous threads Ive had a number of ideas... Aerial quality.. Ive got a stubby of some sort, people seem to be recommending s2000 aerials, although they dont seem as easy to come by on ebay? Grounding.. few previous threads have mentioned grounding on the car effecting the reception. Anyone have any other posisbilities or ideas what to check first? My last car had an aerial not much longer and got pretty decent reception so im clearly lacking/misisng soemthing on my Z

Lo guys, im looking at doing some exterior lighting mods, Ive scoured the forum (led isnt a long enough word to search for sadly) to try and get a list of the external light mods people have done and find a good thread for each and also whats applicable/easy to fit on my z. Ive a red 54 (2004) GT Coupe so pre face lift. So far Ive found... *Front bumper side reflectors, can be replaced with LED or better (theres a thread on this page about them, more work on pre face lift than post?) *Rear tail lights, can be swapped to the 06 led type easily *Rear numberplate lights, can be swapped for LED's *Orange strip inside headlights, multiple threads not clear what all the differences are between the many types and what is/isnt possible What else is available and which threads make for good research? Thanks for any help!

Ok so looking at new tyres and almost no idea what im doing! Currently running the bridgestone potenza 50's (which seem perfectly reasonable for what im doing) in terms of what im looking at.. Continentalsport contact3 pirelli p zero rossi vredestein senssanta from what Ive read/looked up people like the vred's though few user reviews mention wear so might be a bit iffy, pirelli's are a bit soft but decent, contis are good but the vreds might be a tiny bit better at a lower price. Basically I dont track it but I want some good decent reasonably priced tyres that are going to last and do the buisness, Id love Michelins but my wallet isnt stretching that far! Im not planning on a winter set so something that wont kill me if i drive sensibly in bad weather is a factor! Any help greatly apreciated (feel free to suggest others!) 225/45/18 fronts 245/45/18 rears

So Ive had the car for a month but due to a CV joint issue havent really driven it apart from work and back etc, got all the issues fixed just before christmas and been driving away like crazy since Ive had it back, what a car! So pleased I bought it, bit of a pain to fix the issues but all working well now and its such a gorgeous thing to drive and looks so sexy parked up cant stop smiling about it, so what was everyone elses first real experience in their lovely new zed (nothing too sexual mind!)
-
oh loving the carbon pillars, where did you get em?
-
Well got her back today so far so good no noise, the dealers replaced the rear left axel/cv joint Id thought it was the bearing as well but apparantly thats fine, guessing the grinding could be an advanced stage of the clicking issue maybe? either way fingers crossed all the issues solved and i can get on enjoying my Z!

Hi all, I picked up some nissan mats for my Z, I notice the drivers side has a hole in, usually to secure the matt in place and prevent slipping, I cant find the pin/fastener inside the actual car though, am I being dumb or do some Z's not have these?
-
Least you know that a bottle of lukewarm water will be the best way to uncover it
-
Cant say Ive checked the manual to see if theres a single click unlock for everything but my last car was a single tap for drivers side and double for everything else as a security feature

Hi guys, hopefully this hasnt been asked before (i did search!) Freezing cold tonight, go and open and the car and obviously the windows were iced up, the door opened fine but i didnt fancy trying to close it again until it de-iced which was 5 min or so. Whats the best way to handle this sensibly? just spray de-icer on them and go back inside the house for 5 min? I dont want to risk damaging the window/motors/door/anything! (yes I do park it un-covered)
-
Paid outright for it (rich git i know) currently talking to the dealer, my garage agrees its currently at the point where they may as well fix the clicking tsb by replacing the cv joint and swapping the wheel bearing at the same time which should kill two birds with one stone, the dealer seems to have admitted it needs fixing its just who does it, where and when so slowly moving forwards! On the AA front ive filed a complaint, while they cant take the wheels off they can run their fingers over the disc face and as 'experts' can give a recomendation of "you really want to check that out" vs, "the car is mechanically perfect" that and an exhaust crack they missed so lets see what happens. I agree the more small print you read the more it boils down to "we'll drive the car see if it explodes and if anything is hanging off otherwise your on your own" When I do get another car (hoping to be keeping the z for a loooooooong time cus shes sexy ) hoping I either know enough to be confident in my own inspection abilities or some clever company has spotted theres a market for genuine honest full inspections with some sort of financial backing

Its looking very festive covered in white snow anyways! you can really hear the spray its kicking up heh
