  1. Cheers guys I'm in Cambridge so not too far from you guys! Just after soemthing beefy, quality and not stupidly pricy, also without the drone some people murmer about!
  2. Stupid question, would these work with a 54 plate (pre-facelift) 350z?
  3. So it's about time my exhaust was replaced, the cats both have nice rusty holes, the flexi on one side of the y pipe has a nice hole and the exhaust has been welded a few times since I bought it. I've had a good read of the forums so not going to repost anything (hopefully) So few questions.... Ive heard that hfc berks+stillen Y + scorpion is a good mix..... Whats the difference swapping the scorpion for a cobra? (resonated I believe) Are there any other cats worth looking at? obviously looking for road legal so no decats/test pipes just regular or HFC's While £400 doesnt sound like pocket change for the berks they look pretty good value, I'm guessing theres not much else to look at? Drone: Some people have mentioned this particular combo produces drone on motorways, is this spot on or is it to do with fitment, does swapping a particular component elliminate this? budget wise my combo so far looks like £1100 (ish) in parts so anny suggestions should go too crazy Cheers for any advice guys!
  4. Agreed, I like it where it is, even if it dirtys the nose a bit, the ones over the grill seem more obscuring and stickers to me look cheap, I was pondering something like.. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item23239005b1 incidentally is it easy to remove the current plate holder without removing the front wing? I fancy tidying it up even If im just going to mount something else on top
  5. Anyone have a nice alternative to the standard plate holder? The location is fine, i'd just rather have one that surrounds the plate and looks sharper and more modern rather than the default plate screwed on the front! Any thoughts?
  6. I think your thinking of the outer ones not the inner ones
  7. I'm looking for the inner kicking plates (the thinner strip of plastic you need to remove to swap the outer door sills) as mine are rather scratched and yucky. If anyone has some lying around they don't seem to pop up very often.
  8. Seems lots of wiggling is what's called for! All sorted
  9. cheekily using the internet.... http://i.ebayimg.com/t/NISSAN-350Z-FAIRLADY-FUEL-PETROL-GAS-FILLER-CAP-COVER-LID-/00/s/OTYwWDEyODA=/$(KGrHqN,!ocF!JiGqn1NBQP09J8ynw~~60_35.JPG is the part (not the actual one I bought but the same) SO the metal plate needs to sit under the body work somehow like... http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/media/eVox/stills_0640/4982/4982_st0640_077.jpg
  10. Hey guys, ever since I owned the car the fuel caps little cord has been snapped, no biggie. Anyways I picked up a second hand cap with cord and the metal plate for a deal on ebay. Now I'm wondering how you fit the thing? I've checked the manual and can't find any reference to it and having had a look its no a question of just unscrewing and sliding out, does the rear quarter panel need removing? I'm hoping not just to swap a piece of plastic! Any help greatly appreciated!
  11. Def not the pressure sadly I've run them ar 35 constantly and even at 40 a bit to see the difference! I know some of my bushes are worn so that's next on the list!
  12. Ive been feeling the same way since christmas, it comes and goes and I cant decide if the before christmas it just felt new and lovely and now im used to it but I feel it "go light" over some simple undulations and find at slow speeds 30-40 I have to turn the wheel more but theres less resistance
  13. I had a report done with the car before my Z, was from a top notch guy who'd already listed the problems and the fixes, the report confirmed them, never had any issues with the car. Following that experience I got one with the Z, waste of money didnt spot any of the issues with it (2nd hole in the exhaust, discs needed changing, clicky axel issue, petrol cap release faults etc etc) utter waste of money and of course they cover themselves so theres nothing you can do. Older and wiser now, Id probably still get one just in case there was something serious i missed as im not technically minded, but id pour over all the details on the car myself, press every button, wiggle every bit. In the end i spent a few 100 on fixes which werent a big deal but the idea that you'd trust purely the report isnt believable to me anymore. If your interested, get someone local to peek, get the cheaper of the reports done, make sure theres no serious issues then have a good look yourself. How the dealer treats you when you ask about all this will tell you if he's a decent trust worthy guy or someone who just wnats to shift the car hes got and hasnt really looked at it.

    My rear end

Out of interest what spats are there apart from the Nismo ones? Its generally all I see listed!
  15. CHeers, I kind of like keeping things understated, if it looks like its maybe a limited version of the stock car thats the sort of feel I like, that said if i slap some carbon on il just be a whore
  16. Whats the name of the roof spoiler thing in LRF4N's photoshoot? looks nice and subtle me wanty
  17. Im sort of pondering adding some carbon as it should work with the anthracite, eg wing mirrors + front lip

    Black centre hubs

I removed my badges cleaned the hubs and resprayed them to match the anthrecite I had the wheels done it, then glues the badges back on (I like the default badges) doesnt take too long and as mentioned you can pop other badges on.
  19. So had a bit of work done on the Z recently, GT Alloys refurbed in anthracite and a small door related issue meant I got round to matching the door handles to the alloys. I resprayed the centre caps myself and swapped the wheel nuts out for black steel. Looking pretty me thinks, slightly more aggressive looking! Thoughts?
  20. The noise was only ever going over bumps, Im not entirely sure by what you mean about "at an angle" do you mean when turning or driving up/down hill? the clunk is only a one off as the links move so movement in a smooth constant direction wont produce it.
  21. I was red, you were blue, aknowledgement was had!
  22. Worth saying mine had the ever popular fuel gauge error, id often get down to a few miles on the DTE and fuel tank light on, fill up and only be able to 50-60 quids worth in, have the pump cut out as if the tanks full but still only be 3/4 full. Fixing the issue means I can put 100 quid in and tank reads full. Ive never run out and assume that the tank has read as near empty when its not, but due to the way the tanks build maybe faulty readings affect the distribution across the two sides of the tank?
  23. If the dealer wants to 'fix' the car provide a full list of the work done and gives you a sensible gaurantee, great, otherwise walk away. When I bought my Z it had the clickly axel problem i didnt notice during the test drive (found out a few days later). The dealer was pretty reasonable about it but insisted he fixed it (well within his rights) but it was still hassel to drive the car down, get a hire car, worry stress blah bla blah. Love my Z and spare no expense on keeping her in perfect shape, point being that if you buy from someone whose looked after it your feeling more secure, chances of anything happening are much lower and you should be avoiding any hassle. If id spotted the clicky axel on mine id probably have walked away or demanded it was fixed before a 2nd test drive and garanteed not to reappear for 18 months or whatever. Simply isnt worth the risk and thats for the common clicky axel let alone the engine! Z's arent common but they arent rare either, theres enough out there at good prices you can walk away if something isnt right. Like others I spent 6 months looking for mine, I saw some greta ones and terrible ones but always took my time, did my research and balanced it around what else was out there. End of the day its your choice but id pay for the security if I was you!
  24. Likewise the stereo is coded to the ECU I believe, ive d/c the battery before and its been fine (you loose your tuned stations mind!)
  25. I just pulled them out by the badges! That said the ones I pulled off were missing the wire ring that gives them a bit of resistance and I was replacing them so wasnt too bothered if they broke.
