  1. Leave it on idle and stick your hand underneath to see if you've got an exhaust leak somewhere in the system. You can normally feel the breeze against your hand if you do
  2. heh good stuff, although annoying a garage managed to put them back wrong :/ it's not a huge mystery if you look at the harness
  3. You'd hope not but it's true the plugs on the passenger side aren't connected in the order they leave the harness however it should be obvious from the lengths where they go.
  4. Are these available for our differently sided z's? Is there a UK alternative? Seems like a simple and effective mod https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-products/z1-motorsports/z1-motorsports-350z-g35-brake-master-cylinder-brace-p-8459.html
  5. Of course they'll drop, they may drop slower but they'll drop till they get to their natural bottom and then rise again. The absence of a newer model doesn't stop every other manufacturer and model.
  6. The panels gaps are only a few mm is the carpet that thin? Or did the panels have to be shaved?
  7. I just like that my giant rocket barge is just as fast as all the M's but looks like boat makes for fun times on the roads :P I dunno personally I like the big BMW's for the luxury and effortless performance and I like the rarer more unique stuff to have fun in even if it's slower or not as finessed.
  8. I think Alpine is too niche though? I can't stand the round lights (I hate Bentley for that reason) Porsche seem to be the only company who have made circular lights work on modern cars. Dunno why Renault are using the Alpine name in F1 I imagine most of the world doesn't have a clue what it is. I've always liked that Japanese sports cars don't fit in some sort of progressive range. I don't want the car available in 50 sizes with a million engines. I guess I'm obviously not the usual buyer of such things though.
  9. looks ace, is it just trimmed perfectly for the gaps? I assume you can't actually wrap it round the panels as their so tight so stretched to the edges and very neatly trimmed. looks great either way is it any quieter? I imagine it must absorb a bit of noise
  10. It's been like a year since Ive driven it and it's gathered a lot of dust in the garage but I finally got round to replacing the rocker covers last week and it's now sailed through its MOT so it's back and legal to drive! Apart from a dead battery and two flat rear tyres which were leaky before being garaged it sprung to life straight away and feels great. Also the O2 sensors have yet to trip so hopefully fixing the leaky covers means no more sensor warnings. Have to say I've missed how it's felt I've been driving the fancy expensive car and missed feeling as connected as the 350 makes me feel Because a thread is useless without pictures....
  11. But none of those sit in the same field, if you want to aspire to a nice 2 series that's fine but I've never got the point of the baby beamers. I have a big beamer and I love it I'm not sure if want a mini version. They're also mostly all way more expensive than hopefully this will be. If you want a Japanese car then the supra is your only option and your still left driving a z4. Maybe the UK market isn't bothered about things that look different but given the chance there's a market. People still look at my 17 year old 350, nobody looks at a 17 year old TT.
  12. It better Eve tually find its way here. The Z is a hugely popular car but the problem was the 370 never really offered much above a spot and polish on the 350 (sorry owners!) It didn't offer anything new and there were other things on the market. Now though the market looks pretty bare and the proto offers a big step up Vs the 370 I think it would sell pretty decently if given the chance
  13. Its growing on me the yellow is awful though on the studio it looks so flat yet the photos and video behind really show off the shapes. A dark colour and nicer lighting would really help
  14. How many has it broken? Do you fit them yourself? It's the right belt? Tensioned correctly? Pulley feels straight when pressure is applied? Looks smooth and in good order when the belts off?
  15. Finally getting round to fitting these, hadn't realised the pcv also comes with it I've got my new covers on, silly question time, the originals were just screwed, these have new screws with a thin washer, is that so they can be tightened down further?
  16. I'm finally replacing the rocker covers and getting the car back on the road, throttle body off and it's quite dirty. The plenum has similar dirt but not as extreme. I assume this is the result of oil leaking in? Anything else worth checking/fixing while I'm.in here? I'll get the body cleaned up..
  17. Personally on the DE I found the airbox trumpet mod (I forget what it's really called :P ) gave the best improvement in feel vs cost. made the car much smoother on the throttle.
  18. KK so if you've not negotiated a reduction on the sticker price then as you say it's a straight 8K for the car. I wouldn't be faffing round in the hopes of saving a grand over a car you really want.
  19. but whats the sticker on the new vehicle say? Have you negotiated on it?
  20. Do both need replacing? Drop links are cheap and easy to replace, I'd narrow the issue down before replacing everything you can.
  21. The level of movement is often hard to spot, you can either undo the drop links and see if they seem stiff and firm or loose and wobbly or if you can replicate the clunk on the driveway or whatnot just undo the droplinks and see if that cures the clunk.
  22. Hehe it's the phone bluetooth thingy (though not the actual dongle) feel free to remove
  23. The navara is the lefthand side it's a standard 7pin plug (I think it's 7?) I found one on ebay but they're in no way special
  24. I picked up a second hand Navara mirror which is what several people have done. Essentially they're all similar, power negative and a reverse input to ensure the mirror isn't dimmed when reversing
  25. There's a speaker or mic up there somewhere, if you want to run an auto dimming mirror I'd recommend you take power/negative/reverse from the stereo rear and run it up the passenger pillar, it's what I've done as have others. The dome lights are notoriously finicky and people have blown fuses or even the body control unit fiddling with the dome lights and power. If you've got the headlining off then you can also pop a gps arieal or whatnot up in that space as well. You could retro fit auto lights or wipers from other cars. Plenty of slightly newer Nissans have these features they're essentially wired to "on" with the function acting as a relay.
