Seems overpriced to me...

QWashers or Direct Hoses are good quality replacements - I went with Direct Hoses 15m in the end and not been disappointed. Not tried the UF foam actually, but BH is definitely one of the better ones; BH only needs to be 4% PIR to be effective and UF doesn't suggest any ratio at all suggests that it's not going to be any more efficient. However, if you want to try something different then go for it.

This is just a cunning ruse not to wash your Z until it warms up again, isn't it? I'm onto your wily subterfuge! Hopefully it was just kids messing about rather than anything that causes you too much grief in future.

Products for Windshield and Glass beading

It's not too difficult to remove with G2 in fairness; you'll probably run out of G2 before you run out of G1 (although you should have enough to do one full application). If you do run out of G2 then G6 is quite a good replacement for removal, or IPA if you already have that to hand. Just make sure you've removed any streaks before applying the next layer! It's a bitch when you seal it in between coats. -

As you know I'm a big fan of Gyeon, but I actually prefer View to G1. You won't be disappointed. Not that G1 is not a tremoundous product of course, they just work in slightly different ways. -

That^^^. If you can warm up the screen with the heaters first it should make it a bit easier, or if you've got the ability to force cure (apply heat to) it - even standing there with hair drier for a bit would help. I have appied it in ~9-10 degress, leaving to cure for 2-3 hours between rounds without issues. The colder it is, the longer it'll take to fully cure though. -
If you understand what you’re looking at, the evidence is readily available throughout the internet. There’s probably even a YouTube video that’ll explain it for you but given the flat Earth thread I’m not wasting my life looking for evidence that you will accept. Believe it, or don’t; I don’t really care. But it still doesn’t remove wax. All the best to you.
-
This is exactly my point; using Fairy Liquid to remove wax is a myth. I’m speaking not only from experience but with a good understanding of how the chemicals involved work. I agree, using FL to wash removes the water bearing effect and instils a slow sheeting effect... because that’s what surfactants do by design. The surfactants are short lived and wear off quickly, that’s why if you didn’t do anything after using FL you’d find your wax suddenly comes back to life after a few days, despite being “washed away”. Clean paint actually beads - try it for yourself next time you polish, spray a panel with water when you know it’s got absolutely nothing on and you’ll see for yourself.
-
“Grease and grime” is very different to wax. Using that theory you can wash wax off with just plain water because it cleans other things just fine, right?!? What it leaves behind is designed to be rinses off with hot water, not the cold water you use to rinse car panels; if your man in the video rinsed thoroughly for long enough with hot water he’d soon see the water behaviour change again without touching it - incidentally that does NOT mean that water works as wax, by the way...! As I say if you’re happy doing it then carry on, but don’t believe that it’s achieving anything because it’s not.
-
Glad you asked. Fairy Liquid is a surfactant. Look at the ingredients, it only lists 3 or 4 things on the bottle and two of them are listed as surfactants. It’s specifically designed to affect water behaviour. That’s what people want for their dishes. All that shows is that Fairy Liquid leaves something behind, not that it’s stripping off any top layers. Thanks for playing.
-
You won't have any issues, but you're not removing anything by doing it. Don't get me wrong, if it makes you feel better using it then crack on but just so you're aware, Fairy Liquid categorically does not remove polish or wax.

This does not work, FYI.

Okay, my only real input is that even a handheld Dyson has been better than any other that I've used... however that comes with the caveat that I've used about 4 vacuum cleaners. In my life. Ever. That said, the handheld Dyson is pretty good for all areas of the car as it's not bulky, lasts a fair while and obviously doesn't have any cables/hoses to faff about with. But I'm pretty sure they come with next to nothing or they'll be out of your price range. Unless you want and wet vac, in which case it'll be useless.
-
Oh no, you don't want a Hoover. You want a decent vacuum cleaner instead.

She looks just like you. The poor child! (also, congrats and all that. Traitor.)

Or it proves the 350Z is too...

Plenty. In fact, if anything, you’ve got too much choice. There are easier to use but less durable options such as GTechniq G5, PIAA, Car Chem Glass Sealant and the absolutely terrible Rain-X. Don’t go for Rain-X! Then you’ve got the more expensive, more involved coatings that last much longer such as GTechniq G1 and Gyeon View. Theres a very specific reason that I’ve named the ones that I have, take your pick. And do NOT choose Rain-X!!! -
@ZMANALEX Click on his profile, then from there you can compose a new message to him. I’ve tagged him above too so he’s alerted to this thread.

And that’s also why it’ll never happen that way Blanket tax based on what day of the week the offside headlight bulb was produced is more likely. Of course plug in hybrids will be more taxable than full electric cars, what with the polluting combustion engine component. Which will force the hand to admit plug-in electric isn’t as environmental/sustainable as once believed and, oh would you look that, tax based on non-renewable electricity sources for all it is then.

370z Replacement in testing at the 'Ring
ilogikal1 replied to 350Butcher's topic in Off Topic Discussion
There’s been a spate of threads on these very photographs recently and the unrelated-but-still-given-as-evidence quotes. Who’s to say what (or if) Nissan are testing? Yes, it could be a new Z with an old 370Z body on it. It could be testing a new engine in... an old model 370Z for whatever reason. It could be a completely unrelated component or a stress test for a problematic component. It could even just be a guy driving his 370Z round in circles... -

As mentioned in one (or more) of the other threads, it’s “evidence” of nothing at all. Its speculation based on the sighting of a 370Z with holes cut in the bumper being driven around the ‘ring and a some vague comments made by someone put on the spot. -
Meh, if you're going to buy something as tedious as a Civic, why not buy it with the wrong engine too. (I have nothing useful to add to this thread)

Nissan confirm 370z and Gtr replacement "coming soon"
ilogikal1 replied to The Bounty Bar Kid's topic in Other Cars
I don’t understand how a 370z with holes cut into the bumper being driven around means a new Z with a new engine is definitely, absolutely guaranteed to be on the way. Then again, neither does the article which itself refers to rumours. The only thing they’ve “confirmed” is that a replacement is in the works... although how and with whom that has been confirmed is as much a mystery as the new engine that they’ve assumed. [/sceptical] -
If you replacing your 350z, what would you get next?

R8 without 10 cylinders is wrong. Just wrong.
