Buy P38 Range Rover for roughly same cost as 4 Winter tyres for the Z, drive said P38 for the winter, then sell in spring for roughly the same price you bought it. That's sort of what I did, except I didn't sell it, as I love it too much. So now it's the car we use for tip runs, going to the supermarket and to put the dog/kids in. Also now used as a support vehicle at camp over shows like LakeZ, ZFest, JAE, etc. Oh and track days, because I can fit coolant, oil, top half of my tool chest (Where all the important bits are kept), spare parts etc. Wouldn't be without it now, lol.

D2 and KSports are the same brakes, made in the same factory, branded differently. Plenty of Z32s running both and reporting excellent braking behaviour. Personally wanting KSports but right now, have Black Diamond stock size, drilled and grooved on the front, with EBC drilled and grooved on the rear, and EBC YellowStuff pads all round. VERY happy with the stopping power, but won't know until tomorrow whether the new YellowStuffs on the front are going to fade like the GreenStuffs I had before or not. Z32s have very small stock discs lol I reckon go with the bigger ones if you're going with them at all, unsprung weight isn't going to matter in such small amounts, especially when the stopping power you've got with 8pot callipers and 356mm rotors. Split rotors tend to cool better, weight mostly depends on the brand, but in many cases split rotors will be heavier, as there's almost a third more material in the overall disc, my Black Diamond drilled, vented, grooved fronts, are very very heavy!

Again, depends on the car. I felt a huge difference having the new Contis on the beemer the other day, mostly because I got them pumped up to 46psi (4psi below what BMW recommend :O ) instead of the 38psi I had them at with the PS2s. The car is more responsive and I feel much more positive about the direction of the car than before. I've just upped the tyre pressures on the Z32 from 32psi at the front and 34psi at the rear, to 36psi at the front and 38psi at the rear, after doing some research into the optimal pressures for a Z32 on 19" wheels and tyres. We're off to Trax tomorrow, so hopefully will feel a difference just on the motorway, but with any luck will make some difference on the track too. Hopefully for the better.

lmao, to be fair, I think your car is a lot more prepared for the track than mine, as I've spent a long time trying to fix issues this last couple of months, so I'll not take that bet I'm pretty sure it's just residual oil in the exhausts now, which is why there are no big clouds of the stuff, only happens on full boost (i.e. being forced out with high temps through the exhaust) and when it's red hot, again, exhaust red hot from lots of boost so burning off the oil. We will see though I guess. Fingers crossed. -

Sorry mate no, I hadn't realised you definitely wanted it. Next year we will start the organisation of this event much earlier and get plenty of tickets and passes. sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk -

In theory you won't be anywhere near me if I'm in front, but if you're in front, I'll have to pass you at some point. Lol To be honest, there is absolutely no oil coming out of the exhaust at all, just smoke. If it blows up that will probably still remain true to be honest. Having spoken to a couple of people now I'm quite confident it's just burning off residual oil. sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk -
In fairness mixing isn't necessarily bad on a RWD car anyway, as tyres that handle having power put directly through them, may not handle changing direction at speed all that well. Personally, I've had no issues with the Falken 452s I have on the front, they grip very well in corners, even at high speeds and even in the wet, but I think they're phasing out the 452s and are now hard to get hold of? There's little point trying to match your front and rears, what you need to do, is match the tyre to the job it's doing. I just paid £360 fitted and balanced for a pair of Conti PS3s in 255 35 18 on the beemer and the PS2s which I have on the front are also very grippy in the corners. I'd recommend just buying something that isn't made in China, costs more than £150 per tyre and is a recognised brand, you can't really go wrong at that.

Was following one of the limited edition ones the other day, can't remember the trim marque, but was like a duck egg blue and had a more GT car look to it, a bit less refined and a bit more 'track' style. Wouldn't say no to it, that's for sure.

Gunna drive it to the show, take it on the first track session unless it's smoking it's tits off by the time we get there and if it blows up, you lot can help me push it to the gate and I'll call the AA, lol. If I get black flagged because it gets bad, I'll sell my second track time. -

Well looks like it might still be fubar! Just took it out for a spirited run and it's smoking blue on boost and when I came back from the spirited run, it's smoking blue on idle (Not tonnes, but enough to not be good) from the drivers exhaust. Also, when it's hot after the spirited run, revving it causes blue smoke from both exhausts, not just the drivers side. This does lend some credence to the theory it might still just be burning off residual oil left in the exhausts from all the oil that's been put down them over the last year, as the exhausts came from a car that spat it's guts down the exhausts and with my PCV issues I put a fair bit down there myself (About 3 litres of oil per hundred miles I worked out). Sadly, I probably won't be on the track tomorrow, unless I decide it's worth it, since if the engines going to blow anyway, it may as well happen whilst I'm having some fun with it, but essentially I'm left with limited options as to the problem. My preferred one is stated above, residual oil, which is only being burned off properly when the exhausts are actually hot enough, I have more than one scored bore, buggered ring, shredded valve stem seal, on both banks, or both my turbos are shagged. The turbos are unlikely, as they are both recently refurbished with stepped oil seals and new garrett parts, however everything is possible, as we ended up with some very fine metal shavings in our engine, from an oversight after the plenum was polished and it wasn't cleaned out before it was put on the car. We think some of these ended up in the oil, although upon doing several oil changes to try and remove them, I didn't spot any at all in the oil to be fair. -
Only thing I can add to this and it's on a slightly different car, is that I have Falken 452s up front and Cooper Zeons on the rear, without any issues. My Z32 is around 400bhp (ish, getting dyno'd next Thursday to hopefully go higher and get a figure) and has turbos, so has a sudden burst of power, rather than a controlled curve of increased power like an NA engine. Tyre choice always really comes down to personal preference. I had 452s all round, until I had a blow out on one of the rears, then swapped to the coopers in an emergency, but found them so good, I've stuck with them. Many say the Coopers are crap, but I've found them excellent in ALL weathers. On my work car, which spends most of it's time flying up the motorway, I run Continentals all round. Had PS2s all round until a nail ended the life of one of my rears and I sadly discovered PS2s no longer existed, so had to buy a pair of PS3s, even though the remaining PS2 still have tonnes of tread on it after only a few thousand miles.

Finished it last night, but then had a nightmare last night that I'd not properly scraped the old gasket off the plenum flange and had to take it all off again tonight. Turned out I had done it right, so straight back on it went. Anyway, a few progress shots for you guys to show what I've been doing. New Air Filters and breather filter for the crank case now I've deleted the PCVs. Full PCV delete and powder coated cam covers while the plenum was off. Polished it all back up again and now it looks pretty -

No worries mate. We do currently have a single discounted £10 ticket left from the excess they accidentally sent us, but it isn't with a stand pass or any track time, it's just entry for a person. Obviously if someone wants that, speak up and I'll give you the paypal address to pay into, otherwise will bring it with us on the day, for those who have not yet bought a ticket and you can just give me the cash. The money is going to the club however (zxclub) to raise funds, so if you want it for definite, I'd prefer the paypal. -

Will let you know mate, but like I said, I'm desperately trying to sort it out. Got parts re-ordered hopefully turning up on a courier tomorrow and am nagging the guy about the oil hoses for my oil cooler. Then I just need to road test the car as if I still have tonnes of oil smoke, we'll be bringing it, but not tracking it, lol. -

Hope you're enjoying it, we went to Spain for Valentines week, I ended up with Tonsylitis in the worst possible way (Could barely speak, eat, drink, no energy, massive fever, lol) and it rained all week. EPIC! -

Just as a heads up for you guys, I'm not entirely sure our Z is going to make this at the moment It's been on axle stands for over a week now and I've had parts on order for longer than that, that still haven't turned up. Our post office is absolutely CRAP! and they do this to us all the time, I'm furious! Combine that with some oil hose I ordered that came and was the wrong ID, which is needed to allow the car to move, as it's for the oil cooler, so now waiting for the new stuff I've ordered to turn up and praying it's the right size. If our Z isn't coming, we will be in a BMW and won't really be too interested in parking that on the stand and I certainly won't be interested in taking it round the track, as it's my daily drive motorway car for work. IF this happens and I'm going to do everything in my power to prevent it from happening, I will meet you all at the services as planned in the BMW and dish out track time slots and stand info etc. I will also at that point, have two track sessions available for sale, one at 9:20 and one at 2:20 from memory. Can't remember how much track time was at the moment, but I'll sell them at a slightly discounted price, hopefully at least recover my fuel costs down to the services to meet you. Not a happy bunny Watch this space. -
Sadly these days unless he was speeding at the time he committed the fraud and it can be proven, the police wont do @*!#. Have had to report about 8 crimes in ten years, including theft, vandalism, assault and a death threat, not one went further than a statement. During this time I was done for speeding by an unmarked vehicle at 1kmph over the limit + threshold and for not wearing my seatbelt, when I was wearing my seatbelt lol. Both in NZ. sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk

We get that a lot in the Z32, great feeling. Made a bloke near enough ride his push bike into a lamp post the other week. Last time I did it myself, was a carbon Lambo on a 13 plate a few months back on the M1 and the time before that was a gunmetal R35 and I happened to be in our Z32, was a cool feeling going round the M25 next to each other. Seemed to be some mutual appreciation too, which was nice considering mine cost £1300 for me to buy and his was easily over £40k lol -

That's why we're meeting at Northampton at 6 - 6:30 and getting to the track before 7am mate, you should probably join us at Northampton, rather than meeting up somewhere at 7. The gates open to showing vehicles at 7am and the public at 9 I think. The sooner you get there, the less you'll queue. -
Looks like lots of fun. We went on a similar run last year, only to snap a camber arm on the first leg in Belgium and the car end up stuck there for a week while we awaited parts. Lessons learned: 1) Don't drive through Belgium, there are better places to break down 2) Don't let the AA drop you at a Belgian Nissan garage, they haven't a clue and don't take credit cards 3) Don't let Germans persuade you to start drinking with them whilst you're in Cologne unless you genuinely want to feel like someone has smashed you over the head with a sledge hammer the next morning We'd love to go on another one of these runs, maybe next year we'll be lucky enough, but sadly this year the 'zrun' just didn't happen.

Customer Service with Japspeed really seems to depend on who you speak to. If you get their sales manager, he's great, listens to you and will do everything completely by the book. On the other hand, if you're unlucky enough, as I was once, to get one of their service managers on the phone, because the sales manager is busy or on holiday, you're ****ed. I bought a Japspeed Rad and the overflow pipe literally fell off, as it had blatantly snapped and been stuck back together. Took me 2 weeks to sort it, as the sales manager was on holiday. Meanwhile, I was told it was tough, I was told I wasn't entitled to a refund, or a replacement, etc. As soon as the sales manager came back though, he was brilliant, sorted it out for me, courier collected it from me at their expense and delivered the new one. As for quality, I bought some Japspeed front camber arms a year or so ago and they're already rusting up, which I'm not huge impressed with, however I did manage to undo everything and make adjustments without issue the other day, despite the rust. We will see if they become unusable, or unsafe soon. Probably worth point out that they have rusted when my Z was in a garage for the majority of last year and only covered 1800 miles all year. I now have Japspeed de-cats and divorced elbows. For now, they sound awesome and look to be of good quality, my car is the third car they have been on. Like others have said, hit and miss both on quality and customer service.
