  1. I am fed up grounding front spoilers on sports cars! Its the blasted kurb stones in car parks- they are just the wrong height! Driving a Qasqai lent to me today by Westover gave me an idea- why not fit a reversing camera system but fit the camera to the front number plate ( or somewhere ). Rather than attach the 12v camera to the reversing lights, I could attach it to a 12v feed at the front. Presumably I could attach it directly to the battery but then the camera will be on 24/7. Any helpful comments appreciated: 1. Any reason why not!? 2. Which electrical feed would be the best/easiest. I will probably get a kit from Maplins, not the cheapest but at least some after sales support and easier for refunds! Whilst on the topic, Halfords have just the cameras on sale for £30. Just a few left in store. But the nearest store to me in Bournemouth is Andover!

    370

I suggest you start by looking at the Nissan site to give you an idea of prices etc. Some dealers may be willing to offer great deals to unload 370zs at this time of the year. Unless you know what to look for when buying a used car, I suggest you stick to main dealers, at least they offer good warranties. Your mate is not going to thank you if you find him a problem car thru ebay etc!
  3. It was just a few pin holes- if you shine a torch from the inside you can see the light come through. Storm Sure glue is said to work well- see their web site. Available cheap on Ebay, clear or black.
  4. I bought the car 3 weeks ago from them under their cared4 programm including a 12 month comprehensive warranty. Well, I am treating it as such and it seems to be working! I am prepared to be tough with them if required, as far as I am concerned, I paid more than I should have because it was a main dealer and I expect good service! I will be getting Horsham Developments to look it over next week once Westover have done all they can, just in case anything else is wrong! I have until a week Saturday to do something drastic under the Nissan 30 day exchange promise. I was assured before I bought it that they would fully check the soft top, and they got an expert over to check it over and glue one corner back on the bottom corner at the back of the drivers door. However, when I fully inspected it after purchase, I spotted that I could see light coming thru where the back cross seem meets the 2 side seems. There is probably alot of tension at those points and the stitching is giving way I have asked them to fix this ( I think some Storm Sure glue will do! ). When I bought it I had not realised how expensive a soft top for a 350Z would be - nearly £1,000 fitted, at MLC Monsson in East Sussex. If I had known this then I would have checked it better!! It was a sunny day when I test drove it so the top was down!
  5. Where did these photos come from etc and are they of my car or another. Its definately a facelift car but which year! I did not find her in the boot, was she an option, perhaps I should go back to Westover, perhaps she's been left in their stores! Its back in with them on Monday for a new radio/cd, repairs to the back suspension, and to the soft top, all under warranty. I'll ask about her!
  6. Now I know why I've got a big dent in my bonnet! The first pic looks like the 2005 car, the second could be mine from 2006, since it looks like a facelift car.
  7. I wrote to their marketing department, but although I asked for 2006 photos, they sent 2005 photos!
  8. No, I got that one on Ebay for £2.99. Its the small black and white specifications leaflet that came with the big brochure!
  9. Hi I am looking for info on the roadster, otherwise the one you attached would be great! In the black and white brochure I have for 2007, it has details of both coupe and roadster, detailing standard features for base model and GT, options, and technical specifications ( engine, transmission, brakes, wheels, weight, dimensions, performance. )
  10. Hi I recently obtained some original Nissan publicity photos of L44 UST dated 2005 ( pre-facelift ). This was the orange 350Z roadster used by Nissan in 2005 for marketing purposes. They are not the ones I was after since I wanted pictures from 2006 showing the next publicity car, being the facelift model that I actually now own. I thought of returning them to Nissan but they must have gone to alot of trouble finding them, therefore I thought that the photos should go to someone who would appreciate them! They are therefore available to anyone interested in having them. It would be even better if I could swap them for a 2006 Nissan black and white specifications leaflet! Does anyone have some photos of the 2006 L44 UST!? I have downloaded some from What Car.
  11. I am looking for this black and white leaflet for the 2006 facelift model.. I have the brochure but not this one. If someone has one spare or could either copy and post one to me or scan and email to me, please let me know. I could always swap for some original Nissan publicity photos of the orange 350Z roadster L44 UST from 2005 which I recently received direct from Nissan, or for the specification leaflet I have dated April 2007.
  12. I'll get the PC version assuming it will work with my N Vidia dual GPU 3d graphics set up. If you have not tried 3d gaming then you have not lived! Nearly as good as driving a 350Z!
  13. Hi Is that yes its right or yes its faulty!
  14. Is it correct that the sat nav only works out of the passenger front speeker or is mine faulty?
  15. Just an update, after about one week of ownership, I booked the car in for remedial work, the result of which is: 1. A new radio/cd is on order as the one in the car did not work properly ( problem with CD ) 2. New part(s) on order for the back suspension (squeeek and rattle caused by a dropped arm!? ) 3. Awaiting authorisation for repair work to the soft top ( can see a bit of light through it where the side seems meet the back cross seem ( I would think a bit of Storm Sure glue would fix this ). So much for their Cared4 program that is suppose to ensure cars are properly prepared before handover! I must admit that they have been very good about it so far but it does not fill me with confidence! On a good note, they gave me a 370Z to play with for 2 days, but the weather was bad and I was worried about the £500 excess if I damaged it! I am seriously thinking of taking it to Horsham Developments after they have said its all fixed to get them to inspect it!
  16. I used to be a Dell user, but recently bought an Apple MacBook Air. Excellent machine and so much faster than the Dell Alienware M11x I have even though a lower spec ( intel duo ). Having an Solid state hard drive certainly sppeds things up! I think Apple put their hardware together better. More expensive but you get what you pay for! I got mine nearly new on Ebay. Also bought an extra 2 years warranty ( Applecare ) from another Ebay seller very cheap so I am covered for repairs for 3 years! Apple sell refurbished laptops on their web site. Remember that the modern Apple MacBooks can run both their operating system and Windows. Mine is now dual boot so I get the best of both worlds!! ( Windows 7 bought cheap on Ebay ).
  17. I assume you are saying to claim off the insurance, but I found that Autoglass were reluctant to replace, prefering to repair, depending where any chip is- needs to be in the drivers zone. Are there various grades of windscreens- is this something to watch out for in deciding which quote to accept.
  18. NISSAN DEALERSHIP For that sort of money, make sure it is a facelift 300ps car, with led back lights etc, I believe some 06 cars were the old sort. Also see what the Nissan warranty is, I believe for cars over 5 years old, the parts etc covered are less than for a car under 5 years old. Also, when it comes to it try and get it for even less, say £11,500 OTR, worth a try, the dealership will probably like to get rid of it quickly- its really a bit old for them and prices are falling! I would think that if they got it in part ex recently, they would not have paid top dollar for it given the time of the year etc. Should come with new MOT and service. Ask for a copy of the HPI check. Ask for Copies of the previous service paperwork to see what work was carried out on it over last few years, and make sure any advisories have been carried out in getting the car ready for sale.
  19. Google search will find "back ups" for under £40 for the latest version but buyer beware the legal issues! . Nissan confirm still unable to put in post codes and no intention of adding this function!
  20. I spoke to West Way Southampton today. 3 were originally available throughout country, one sold, 2 left both blue manual GTs. If I had not just bought my 350Z from Westover Nissan I would be interested! I would probably loose 2k on mine so not worth it. My CD system is not working properly- keeps fading in and out like a badly tuned radio so Westover are fixing it on Monday and as a good will gesture ( since I have only had the car a few days ) are giving me a 370Z convertible for the day!!! Good chance to try one out!
  21. There are a few for sale on Ebay, but are a few years old. These SEEM genuine. There is someone selling copies of the latest version on the net for just under £40, but of course are not legit. Do a google search.
  22. Yes, I only pay £260 a year, reg date is the 14th. I'll look out for Clarkson video, although he is not my most favorite of people, especially as he slated the 350Z!! I am trying to get the 2006 brochure on ebay, there is also a press pack with CD, and some pictures. Someone is selling 3 photos on ebay, 2 of L22 UST and 1 of L44 UST. I do not know if there are any pictures of my car on the CD. What car has a few pictures of L44 UST on their web site as part of their review.
  23. I'll try and come on Sunday, weather and wife permitting! Yes I wanted to buy that reg but the wife said no to L40 UST!

    L44 UST

Hi I just picked up my first 350Z roadster from Westover Motors, Bournemouth, today, sunset orange, alezan leather. Its the updated version with the 296 bhp engine etc. It was first registered March 2006 as L44 UST and had this registration until October 2007, per the Auto check Report ( if I read it correctly! ). It was a Nissan car until November 2007 when it was bought by the owner prior to me. I know that Nissan used the registration L44 UST in its publicity material in 2006, but I understand that there were more than one L44 UST. Presumably therefore my car was one of a few, but does this make my car a bit of a celebrity!?
