Tyres will be more than 400 surely? Also disc and pads are way more also. Isnt 20mpg a bit optimistic aswell? Read it carefully - these figures are my rough guesstimates of annualised running costs over five years, doing 5,000 miles a year, and assuming the pads, discs & tires are good for 15,000 miles. Which is maybe a bit optimistic for the rubber, but this isn't an exercise in precision cost calcuation. Did you not expect to be challenged, people love to have their say!

I disagree with this. If you can afford monthly payments, then you can afford the car. My arguement is based on buying a car for that price, when you could have a better one for the same price. I have bought 4 cars on finance, all spread over 4 years. Although granted, I negotiated 0%-2% interest on them all. And if you can get that rate of interest then finance makes more sense, why would you pay out a lump of cash when you can spread it, put the rest into saving, pay of mortgage etc etc.

Ebay prices on front bumper range from 100-180 squid, with some more at even greater ridiculous prices. I would say £100 is reasonable. Spoiler, no idea, say £150? And there's my opinion.
