  1. 05 cars seem to be going for 1500 quid more than 06 cars in some cases due to the tax changes! Which is ridiculous, but a sign of the times we live in..
  2. Should come in quite handy if someone takes a potshot at her eats Reminds me of a family guy quote.. Adam West. "Shoot me if you will: But beware, I have a tiny bullet sized shield somewhere on my body. And if you shoot me, and hit the shield, I'll live. You'll be the laughing stock of me." Heh.
  3. I'd be interested in this but I'm an utter tard when it comes to autoelectrical gubbins... ! I just know I'd break, well, everything frankly. It's inevitable
  4. Fair price for a nicely styled 525d imho. short of a single letter being out of place?
  5. My other half makes some carbon fiber pieces. It's the process of creating the moulds that takes the most time.. Not to say the fiber layering/vaneering wet dry sanding ya-de-ya isn't also f-cking time consuming. She made her self a pair of CF Kevlar weave earrings which were rather cool...
  6. Mine's got a plate on it but came with the car. It's meh. Considering whether it's worth sticking on retention with the possibility to sell but don't think it's worth anything much. I also own the following pate:

    Too cheap?

Get an independant RAC check done on the vehicle. Its a 90 point inspection or so. Will be similar to your fuel there and back cost wise.. not much more anyway, and probably more likely than you are to pick up the problems if there are any If the dealer is evasive about letting you arrange this then walk away. To be fair on an 08 car with full service history though you can't really go wrong..

    Too cheap?

Ridiculously good price! I paid 8k for a 53 plate GT only a month ago.. And see the cheapest UK non GTs going for about 7k. Albeit one with low miles and in sunset which seemed to command a small premium... To get an 08 car for 10k is madness by comparison!
  9. Surely you know SOMEONE with a car and jump leads? It's not like it has to be a zed owner?!?
  10. It's only a car... She didn't mean it. Not like it was malicious. I'd be fuming if it were me too but hope you apologised for leaving her at a garage somewhere as that to me is far worse? She's sorry, so let it go. imho.
  11. Baby goes in the boot. It works fine with passengers. It slides around a bit so don't take corners too hard and it'll be fine.
  12. I see he's simply doubled the actual ranges for fuel economy. The rear seats are hilarious though!
  13. That was quick! I might've had that too..
  14. To aid the topic: I don't think you've mentioned the mileage?
  15. You seem to speak better English than alot of people around here! It's just a coincidence then. There was a member on another forum I frequent, "EvoTechnik" who was from the midlands. Username exactly the same.. bennyboy.. so as it's quite a unique name I wondered if you were him but had migrated to france! I suppose it's not such a small world then! Once again welcome to the site..
  16. I don't feel the car needs lowering so would ideally get similar height from spring/shock setup as before.. Rather than have to get the adjustable arms fitted. Mark: I feel this might be another job to throw your way, perhaps at the same time as the previous work we've discussed. The wallet says that will be late next month at the mo though, assuming things last until then. Alex: I might well take some bits and pieces off you. Will see how this thread develops and try to make some decisions I don't know ANYTHING about suspension. I just know I need shocks and ARB drop links So I will try and ingest all the (very useful) information you chaps throw my way and then make a decision. Dave
  17. Ben. Are you the ben I think you are? Or just someone gone for the same name Welcome to the site anyway
  18. So my ARB drop links are worn and one of my shocks is leaking / badly tired out. I was thinking about springs/shocks/bushes and ARB drop link replacement. Or is there a coilover set I could go the route of instead (obviously I'd still do the ARB links) I'm very new to how the susp is set up on a zed. But driving hard this weekend just gone it was painfully obvious that the susp needs resolving asap. Can you recommend any setups? I am after improvement from bone stock but the primary concern is cost. If stock is the best £ for performance route I can go, I'll stick stock. But if for a small amount extra there's a good, tried tested setup I could run for: Let me have it :) cheers folks!

    Engine Blown

Sounds positive! Hope Lee has sorted you out
  20. Well, the bite won't have changed. You've just lowered the pedal is all. Not adjusted the bite in any way. If the clutch is not slippable you don't need to do it yet: Unless you want to due to the way the clutch feels. But, maybe get that rainy day fund going as it'll be about a £1200 job all in!
  21. Glad someone has now suggested camskill. They are ALWAYS cheaper for summer tyres and the service is fantastic, I've ordered at least 6 sets of tyres from them, I shop around every single time but they are always significantly cheaper.
