  1. three options for this: 1. take boot trim off, remove boot weight 2. stick pennies in the boot springs, or get new ones from zmanalex 3. get new gas struts, sgs engineering
  2. not the revup one (296) since most people say that consumes oil - either DE (276) or HR (313?)
  3. full respray? EDIT: Beaten to it!
  4. I definitely think a 350z is destined to be a future classic. I mean, you don't see many of them on the roads as it is, imagine how rare they will be in 20 years time. I suspect now that prices are coming down they will be used and abused by a younger audience, which will inevitably see some being wrecked, or others having high mileages put on them, and modifications will start to come in. in a few years an early, non modified low mileage car in a desirable colour will be worth a lot. Especially when the big NA engine has completely died and been replaced by small displacement turbo hybrid units. Also rust will start to eat away at most Jap cars on UK shores, so a clean rust free example will be worth a lot. Its just starting to happen with 300ZXs now, there are a lot of dogs out there at the moment for sale for dirt cheap, but most are not far away from engine failure or rust. soon there will only be cherished low mileage cars left, and then they will start to appreciate as the numbers dwindle even further.
  5. if we can't get old zedley back can we have a new zed ted? Zedley the second maybe?
  6. definitely not the brakes? I had a noise I could have sworn was my rear wheel bearing, as it only happened when turning left, never straight ahead... turns out it was badly worn brake pads and original discs, some bits of rust and so on had got on the discs and were causing a scuffing noise. definitely worth checking.
  7. feel so bad for Porsche, really hoping they were going to break the Audi stranglehold, although all the top cars were gifted their positions when previous front runners had mechanical issues. Really chuffed for Aston Martin and GT Am, we'll take that! shame it wasnt a one-two for GT Pro as well, but really happy with the result after last year's tragedy.
  8. unfortunately, fuel gauge and thus dte are often crappy.... unlike however, the miles done and the average mpg, assuming you reset it when you fill up. then its quite easy to work out what your range is with an 80 litre tank. i completely ignore the dte flashing '----' at me and the fuel gauge reading way below empty and the fuel light on... if i filled up when that happened i only get 57 litres in. instead i rely on mpg and miles travelled to know when to actually fill up, and using those i can normally predict to within a couple of litres how much fuel will go in. its worked for me just fine for the last year or so of driving.
  9. only a SL350? gonna be a bit slow, surely... you'd want at least a V8 if you're comparing it to a 370Z, although the SL500 is still down on power compared to a zed!
  10. Just wondering, does this kit include the infamous compression banana arm bush? ie the thing that often goes and makes a clunking noise, well documented on here?
  11. hmmm much jealously here... will or ken, wanna show these upstarts how its done in our beemer? although would be amusing that a McLaren 650S wheel nut is probably worth more than our entire car!
  12. lol whats not to like? 4 usable seats, reasonable bootspace, its a practical 4 door family saloon! even has 4wd, so stick some winter tyres on it and it'll stay mobile over winter. just don't mention the fuel economy...
  13. not a Scooby owner, but glad you're enjoying my company's exhaust!
  14. crickey moses those audis really have to stop throwing themselves into the scenery... seems that every year they have a ginormous shunt. although I spose with the LMP1 cars travelling the speeds they do, most shunts will be ginormous... Still incredible how a tangled mess can be rebuilt for qualifying - very impressive system they have for easily repairable cars.
  15. lucky you, i' going to have to support Ecuador although my boss drew Chile, so we have a 'last longer' bet going on, pretty sure if I make it to the second stage i'll win that!
  16. Very sad news indeed, his characters in Bottom and Blackadder were nothing short of legendary. Even recently the series of Bombardier adverts were excellent. Great shame. also if a mod wouldn't mind editing the post title that'd be great.
  17. yep we're going to have to return to cadwell I think - theres definitely unfinished business! Unfortunately we didn't even get a full morning session as there were 5 red flag periods for various people depositing themselves into the scenery! should be getting power steering fixed this week then we'll be all good for rockingham!
  18. What next? "Formula E drivers will have access to a small arsenal of deployable weapons to use whilst on track - such devices as radio jammers to momentarily cease communications between competitors cars and their garages, or small EMP devices to momentarily disable propulsion of other drivers"
  19. totally black on black would be too much black.... I like them, bit different to the norm but still looks good IMO.
  20. nothing even close to anything else in this thread... still got plenty of time though. Craziest drive so far was probably our track beemer round Bedford in the wet, has no grip at the rear, like trying to drive quickly round an ice rink. 50% hilarious, 50% sheer terror.
  21. Come on Aston Martin! Hopefully we'll have a more successful Le Mans than last year
  22. Sorry Mitz! got track day the weekend before, and track day the weekend after, and will have already been on two 350z meets in june as well, my poor fiancé is feeling a bit left out! Looks like you've got a great turn out either way
  23. Afraid im not going to be able to make this now... will be down south with friends all weekend 14th and 15th. Hopefully catch up with everyone at the Ferrari meet!
  24. nope, not even a 'nice car' in the two years ive had it. but round here nice cars are fairly common... might get some comments now i have a decent exhaust on.
