  1. Yep, happy with mine as well! went through MOT about a month ago, just needed some front drop links and a number plate bulb, otherwise all good for another year! Good old Nissan reliability about the only things I can think i'd replace it with would be from a certain BMW M division, but don't fancy the running costs compared to the zed!
  2. I don't remember that many of our meets going on much past 3pm anyways, which is when these rules take effect. Normally its meet at 11am or so, done by 2ish.
  3. i'd say that was win win all round, healthy car to start with and a very healthy gain of BHP and torque
  4. cassette adaptor for me, been working well enough for me for the last 3 years, and having a cable going 3 inches from the cassette deck to the cubby just above it is no hardship. plus I can continue to use the steering wheel controls for volume.
  5. marginally - to the tune of 6mm a side. just swapping the tyres would certainly be the cheapest way of doing it. how much tread is left? if your tyres have still got plenty of life in them then just swap them over and see how they look. then if you dont like the look put wider tyres on when you get new ones.
  6. DON'T put the rears from the 350z wheels on the fronts of the rotas. you'll have to run 275/45 on the rear to keep the tcs happy, which is all wrong. id go for 245/40/18 on the front, and 275/40/18 on the rear with those new widths. but then again, the new fronts are only half an inch wider, and the rears an inch wider - with the standard 45 profile tyres, you probably wouldnt notice that much stretch.
  7. you need a Honda RDX aerial, PM Steve at Redline Styling. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/62006-350z-honda-rdx-stubby-massive-saving-13-delivered-huge-stock/
  8. go on then, whats the magic number?!?!?! im going to guess at 302 on a DE engine, that would be something!
  9. might not make much difference - at the moment there's a teeny bit of snow forecast for the night before
  10. interesting stuff, will be checking back throughout the day today for updates!
  11. they seriously tried to organise a rally across Europe with only a single member of staff? jeez that was never going to end well.
  12. http://engine-codes.com/p0340_nissan.html have a read of that, sounds like a camshaft position sensor to me. definitely try changing that first before moving onto anything else!
  13. Just read this about caterham: 'British-based Caterham, who used Renault engines this year, have yet to score a point in five years in the sport and were last in the championship.' I'm sorry but.... good luck trying to find a buyer, why anyone would want to be involved in such a failure is beyond me - I wouldn't touch that steaming pile of doodoo with a 30ft barge pole!
  14. well, I've just had a look at the Wikipedia page for 2015, and apart from the nosecone, I cant see any new 2015 rules that would mean you couldn't run a 2014 car - just change the nose to meet the new regs and away you go. however I really struggle to see how this is an incentive to buy caterham - after all, it was at the back of the grid when it had a current year car, it'll be miles off the pace if they use a 2014 car when all around them have upgraded to 2015 cars!?!
  15. whoop whoop one week til trackday! hopefully the weather will be as it was this weekend, but the main thing im praying for is that its dry! Also Dan will like this... current collection of tyres on the beemer is now a Kumho, a Nankang, a Landsail and a Continental... so we'll be really good at putting power down out of right hand corners (which is good as Oulton has a lot of those!), but fairly terrible everywhere else...
  16. Spend a bit more dough and get a cobra from CS, great bit of kit and lifetime warranty :-)
  17. Might work in Dubai or California, but on the streets of huddersfield? Not so much!
  18. Cool will have a look for it... Hopefully my fiancee will be subscribing me for xmas, fingers crossed!
  19. If you drive it with 40s on the rear the wheels will be rotating relatively quicker than the fronts, so the tcs will contInually think they're slipping, and cutting power. Not recommended!
  20. no winter tyres for me! but not really needed in my opinion in leamington, its nice and mild round here normally. plus my commute is on well gritted roads, so should be fine (assuming i can get off my driveway)
  21. Standard size is 225/45 front, 245/45 rear. If you drop the profile to a 40 on the rear you will get tcs issues, unless you also drop the front profile to 40 as well. But then you'll need to lower the car to remove the huge arch gap!
  22. just to confirm, what issue number is it? will probably pop to the shops tomorrow and buy it for some light café reading.
