  1. Welcome from leamington spa! Have to say, your car history is remarkably similar to mine. Hopefully see you around ☺
  2. Great photos, thanks for them! Will have to return when the weather is better, say around may time?
  3. Mainly trackday related... managed 12 trackdays this year, would like to do at least 10 next year, and get the trackcar sorted to a better level - tyres and suspension mainly. Would love to drive spa and get down to Le man's this year, will see how that goes. Other than that, I've done the proposal this year, so should try and get married next year!
  4. Thanks for the drive out lads! Think we did alright considering, managed to get a few good runs in. Bit wet in places, but no ice. Looking forward to seeing a few pics if posible!
  5. Slight change of plan for tomoro... We're now meeting at 11am for anyone planning to join us!
  6. I believe it does, fill up the zed there on the way home. If for some reason they don't, there's a tesco selling momentum a few miles up the road.
  7. yep 10am sounds good to me - the car park is here: https://goo.gl/maps/YHsI8 come of the A465 towards Abergavenny A4143, loop right under the road and then its on the left.
  8. there you go, how about this - meet in the waitrose car park just of the A465 Heads of Valley road. http://goo.gl/maps/HTKPu weather looks pretty good for monday, cold but sunny.
  9. best roads are a4069, a4067 , a4059 and a470, basically anything going over the Brecons. I wouldn't go as far as elan, but might well join you for the first bit. A4059 is awesome, doesn't really go anywhere so is quiet, but it's pristine Welsh a road, fast and we'll sighted.
  10. Might be up for this, we're in south wales for the week and dont have anything planned on Monday yet! Will check back tomoro.
  11. happ christmas all! xmas dinner is in the oven, which is just as well as im starving!
  12. when i filled up on sunday standard was 110.9 in my local sainsburys, then on the way from bromsgrove to kidderminster i saw a londis selling standard for 109.9!
  13. its a pain, but its not that hard... just did mine, its a lot easier in daylight and you can see where it needs to be inserted, and then its just a matter of getting the ridges in. but really its not that hard... 5 minutes, two dips showing oil to be exactly on the full line (as it should be, only serviced a month ago) job done.
  14. Looks blummin' lovely to me, I like it a lot! I am coming round to the ways of BMW 3-er coupes - got an E46 coupe and it looks great, and the E92 coupes look awesome as well. The E90 saloon however is a completely different (boring as sin) repmobile. And while I don't normally go for diesels, I can certainly see the appeal of lots of torque - would make a great long distance cruiser with so much performance on tap from low rpm. Decided now that my next car isn't going to be an E46 M3, or a 645ci, but a E92 335i with a remap!
  15. Single snowflake falls on a hill in Scotland - headlines next day read 'EXPERTS PREDICT NEW ICE AGE - BRITAIN TO BE PLUNGED INTO -30C NIGHTMARE' ...
  16. totally different tyre - they may both displace water equally well according to an EU test, but the MPSS is one of the best road tyres Michelin makes for high performance cars... the primacy3s are not. MPSSs are the ones you want! Goodyear Eagle F1s have a good reputation as well, and are pretty cheap at the moment.
  17. only 12 pence to go - but you know what papers are like... a gust of wind blows a roof tile off and they'll say its the beginning of the apocalypse!
  18. I know I know, but what (I think) I want is power and luggzury... as I say, my roadcars don't get driven hard, all the driving i've done in the zed in the last year has either been commuting, or the occasional long distance run for a weekend away or visiting family. So it needs to be a cruiser, rather than a sports car. accessible power while the missus is asleep in the passenger seat is what I need!
  19. Thanks for all the opinions guys! unfortunately the E92 M3 is out of my price range at the moment, but to be honest it doesn't sound like the M3 is worth the upgrade over the 350z for the type of driving I do. Certainly not for an extra 5 grand which is what it would take to get one that's even comparable to my zed in terms of mileage or age. think i'll go back to a 645ci - for the same money I could get one that's newer, lower mileage, V8 engine, bags more torque and better styled (if you ignore the bangle butt!)
  20. ha, you have to be fairly committed to make it work, probably average £200 a day so that's at least £2400 spent on trackdays this year also fairly obviously you cant let the weather slow you down - in fact the only month we didn't do a trackday was actually july (but we did two in June) no write ups im afraid, at some point I might try and document it, but its basically been a) buy the cheapest, most powerful bmw you can off ebay strip out as much of the interior as you can c)fit better brake pads d) drive the nuts off it!
  21. To be honest its been quite a quiet year for my zed... haven't used it as much as i'd have liked, its mainly been doing mundane commuting. However other car related news, I've successfully met my target of doing 12 trackdays in 12 months in a combination of BMWs, that's taken up quite a few weekends!
  22. ah I see another 2p off a litre announced from tomorrow... that's another £1.30 off a normal zed fill up, good times.
  23. haha I was wondering this! luckily only put enough petrol in to do three days to and from work (~120 miles) but the big xmas fill up is on sunday, along with an oil level check and tyre pressure check
  24. merry chrimbob! two days left at work, then the xmas driving starts! taking the zed this year since weather is mild and petrol prices are low
