  1. Haha I'm falling for a 335i auto even though I haven't driven one yet!

not forgetting camskill, mytyres and tyreleader...
  3. wow that's exhaust porn of the highest order, so shiny! but cant imagine the whole system is very cheap, fair play to you if you get it bought!

I presume you mean Michelin Pilot Super Sports, rather than Michelin Pilot Sport 3s... of the two, i'd go for the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. but Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy2s are also excellent and reasonably priced these days.
  5. will shortly be replacing the zed with a BMW E92 coupe... nothing quite so pedestrian as a 320d though but good to hear servicing is reasonable and m-sport suspension is tolerable - although ideally id have 18" not 19" wheels.
  6. selling rays shouldn't be that difficult providing they're in decent nick. do it, those Varrstoens wont be sticking around long at that price!
  7. rimtuck.com is another good site to see what wheels other people have fitted to their zeds and their setups.
  8. with a 9.5" front an 11" rear i'd go for 245/40/18 fronts, and 275/40/18 rears - that would give you the right sizes to keep the speedo in check, and a correct difference between fronts and rears to keep tcs happy. other consideration is, how far will the car be lowered? i'm no expert on 'stance' but if you're going really low you might need more stretch, or arch work - but i'll wait for someone more knowledgeable to come along to advise.
  9. presuming you've got the specs of the wheels you're planning to fit front and rear, have a play around on willtheyfit.com to make sure you buy the right size tyres - the rears need to be around 2.5-3% larger diameter than the fronts otherwise the TCS will not be happy, and both front and rear diameters need to be as close as possible to the original sizes otherwise the speedo will be wrong. had a guy very recently fitting 12" rears who hadn't really done the research, and will likely have to buy a new set of front tyres to correct an error in sizing.
  10. buy another 350z! plenty to choose from, there are loads in the states, and loads of tuning options. or if you really wanna go all-out 'murican, get a t-top corvette
  11. its spot on as a daily driver, no problems whatsoever - I presume with 16k a year, that a lot of that will be cruising on motorways and dual carriageways, in which case expect around 26-30mpg average, depending on how heavy your right foot is. I'm doing 9k a year mostly motorway commuting and its a lovely car.
  12. I hate to say it, but I genuinely chucked at a lot of tonight's episode. Even though they're just driving round a housing estate or whatever, some bits were hilarious, especiallying when Hammond 'dropped off' his patient the second time! And Clarkson in the back of his car... and may's tailgate! It's episodes like this that confirm top gear isn't even remotely about cars any more Plus good work to ricciardo, top man!
  13. theres definitely a joke here regarding fanny and salty water, but I can't think what it is...
  14. looks to be in very good shape, but a hefty chunk off the retail price at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-350Z-Cobra-Sport-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-/391046090959?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
  15. are you planning on visiting Florence? stunning city, been three or 4 times already and still love it. Also, i'd avoid Naples like the plague, horrid place - its one big Italian traffic jam, the coast might be nice but there's a 6 lane road right on the front, which detracts somewhat.
  16. its a shame its so beat up - that's a really nice bodykit!
  17. Ironically... (I apologise this is purely theoretical and doesn't actually help at all) if you put the 265/35/18x12j wheels on the front, and the standard 225/45/18 fronts on the rear, the TCS would work fine with that, although looks and handling would suffer somewhat
  18. hate to say it, but I don't think a 245/40 is gonna work... your new rears are currently 5.45% different to the standard rears, but the fronts you're planning to put on are only 1% different than the standard fronts - you'd need a 245/35 to match the 265/35 on the rear. have a play around on willtheyfit.com - basically, the rear wheels need to be 2.5% different to the fronts (the rears need to be 2.5% larger, so they rotate slightly slower than the fronts)
  19. tell you what, what width wheels are you planning to run on the front? assuming you don't want to replace the rear tyres, at least we can help you buy the correct matching size fronts so the TCS doesn't object (although the speedo will be wrong)
  20. hahah WOW that's a massive 5.45% smaller rolling diameter than the standard 245/45s, so the rear wheels are rotating a heck of a lot faster than they should be compared to the fronts, hence why tcs is throwing a right wobbly, it thinks you're in a state of perma-drift! http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=245&aspect=45&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8.5&offset=33&width2=265&aspect2=35&diameter2=18&wheelwidth2=12&offset2=20 also, muchos kudos on the insane amount of stretch, you could quite happily put a 315 on a 12" rim!
  21. what tyre sizes (width AND profile) are you using? guessing you didn't stretch the standard 245 onto a 12 inch rear
  22. just this question came up a little while back, have a quick read through the second half of this: http://www.w8ji.com/rpm_limiters.htm nearly all modern cars cut fuel, rather than cutting ignition, since air and fuel will still ignite in a hot exhaust, but air and spark will do nothing at all without fuel.
  23. first thing I thought of was '...a bra?' - but then realised this wasn't a some kind of teenage help forum
  24. if that's the cheapest, then they're appreciating! was looking at M3s before I bought my zed - and reasonable mileage ones were around £9k, which was a bit out my price range at the time. If examples with over 100k on the clock are now going for £10,5k, they're definitely on the up!
