  1. Just had a look at their website (since i was also wondering who the hell is Jimmy Up?) and... nah. not for me thanks. I might have a pistonheads or a speedhunters sticker on a track car, but don't really care for stickers with swearing on (call me old fashioned, at 27...)
  2. might wanna add the make and model of the tyres - also, are you sure the fronts are 7.5? seems very narrow for 19s!?! - but rims look nice, bargain price as well. GLWTS
  3. Would love to do this route! did a Scotland roadtrip with my dad a few years back, but only got as far north as Fort William. problem is, you'd have to go in the height of summer, and even then it would still be raining 50% of the time. shame its so far away really, wales need to do a similar thing with their excellent roads
  4. japspeed aren't particularly known for good quality stuff - have a look on tarmac sportz website for air intakes, but most here go for a JWT Popcharger. cant help you on the stereo im afraid, I use the cassette deck!
  5. good - it will let more air in so might make a bit more power if you get it uprevved. it will also make more noise. bad - its unshielded, so the engine will suck in hot air from under the bonnet when stationary - less power (this could apply to all unshielded induction kits). the filter probably wont filter that well either, so the engine will suck in fine dust particles. Lastly, the chrome finish will likely discolour pretty quickly.
  6. id personally wait until it actually starts slipping. it will be noticeable when it starts going, but it wont make the car undriveable - you just wont be able to use full throttle in the higher gears. the last car I had with a slipping clutch was my old 300zx turbo - it would be fine with normal driving, but if you put your foot down, the clutch would slip as the torque spiked due to the turbos. and even if waiting for the clutch to go causes damage to the flywheel, its strongly recommended to change both at the same time anyway, so that wouldn't be a concern. if you're planning a long trip, then maybe change it for peace of mind - however if you're just using it for commuting or short ish journeys, i'd wait until it starts slipping before replacing. it could have another 1000 miles in it depending on how you drive. but be aware it might go soon, and make sure you have the money ready for when it does.
  7. Its not specifically related to the 2015 season, but just read these two articles about the 10 worst rules in F1, and 10 worst corners in f1 - the punchup at Bremskurve 2 / Ostkurve Chicane, Hockenheimring (number 4 on the worst corners list) is hilarious, I really don't see how its anyones fault other than the circuit designers. http://richardsf1.com/2014/01/25/feature-f1s-top-10-worst-ever-rules/ http://richardsf1.com/2010/12/11/top-10-worst-corners-in-formula-1/
  8. this isn't what happens to all married couples, is it?
  9. how about a brake temperature gauge? so track drivers know in advance when their brakes are about to fade... same with tyre temps, useful to know when your tyres are outside their optimal operating conditions.
  10. hmmm an oil pressure gauge and an oil level would have certainly helped us out, rather than relying on 15 year old dash warning lights - which if it flashes red, is probably too late already! my mates Mini cooper S doesn't even have a water temperature gauge - I mean honestly, how can you have a modern turbo car that doesn't even have a water temp gauge?
  11. oooh a useful one for the drifters - gauge showing you the angle of your drift, or maybe one to show how much faster your rear wheels are rotating relative to the fronts, and thus the amount of smoke you're likely to be making. a gauge showing tyre temps would be very useful for track cars. Am I doing this right?
  12. hmmm three additional gauges for an NA zed... 1. Excitement level of occupant of passenger seat - useful for finding out if your mad driving skills have impressed your lady friend enough to be invited in for 'coffee', or if you need to do more handbrake turns. 2. Straight line performance indicator - scans the cars in the near vicinity and shows your likelihood of beating it in a straight line - useful for judging whether the car in front is a bog standard astra to be blown into the weeds, or the infamous VXR, racing best avoided. 3. Fuzz proximity sensor - gives a readout ranging from 'drive like a granny' to 'all out hoonfest' depending on how close the nearest police car/speed camera is.
  13. I think you're missing the point here. She's female, blonde, looks good in a race suit... who cares if she can't actually win races??
  14. Woah woah woah hold the phones... something considerably more important than ex F1 champs possible head injuries... Hot female development driver signs for Lotus?!?!? why was this not announced on here?!?!? http://www.motorsport.com/f1/photos/main-gallery/?r=25678 shes younger than me, and gorgeous...
  15. Project Coordinator/Administrator for an automotive engineering consultancy company (Prodrive - you may have heard of them!). Fairly standard desk based financial and project management type work, but every so often we have a nice car in the workshops - have an F-Type R coupe in at the moment, had a McLaren P1 in the other week!
  16. welcome along from another leamington spa member!
  17. I have to say, buying a brand new car (even if it is one of the cheapest available) for it to spend most of its time sitting in an airport car park seems like a terrible waste of money to me... it'll depreciate like a stone as soon as you buy it, and it'll be a hateful thing when you're in it. why not buy a slightly older decent german diesel saloon? very comfortable place to be, loads of nice leather and modern conveniences to play with, plus it'll hold its value a lot better, having already lost 50% of its retail price.
  18. problem im finding more and more is that new cars all look the same, even the sports gts. This Bentley has strong influences from Aston Martin, Jaguar and Mercedes AMG GT - from the headlights back it could be made by anyone, the only distinguishing Bentley features are the headlights and the colour.
  19. yep, tried a cheapo one off ebay, rubbish reception, and the thread rusted in the aerial mount. Replaced with a Honda RDX aerial, looks a lot better and radio reception is perfect. Redline styling also sell RDX aerials at a good price.
  20. its gotta be cheap! im looking at one on saturday thats £650
  21. Yes, its our old track car... which we killed due to owner negligence... who knew engines needed oil !?! so yeah, bmw 330ci chassis, slightly dodgy gearbox, knackered engine. 143,000 miles, numerous owners, might have some service history. Although its a bit irrelevant now since the engine is fubared! Goodbye trusty track car, have some great memories - flat through the craner curves at donington, my first proper spin at oulton park, drifty drifty slidy goodness at Bedford, shes been a trooper. Hopefully someone will buy it, fit another engine, and carry on having fun with her! be a shame for her to be broken for parts. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-330ci-Track-Car-Chassis-Spares-or-Repair-/301548543701?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4635b19ed5 on the plus side, its new car time again! if anyone knows anyone selling a running E46 328i or 330ci for less than a grand, let me know!
  22. if its Leicester way pop in and Mitz can fit it for you as well...
