  1. everyone fancies a full fat GTR! problem is they're a lot pricier than the GTST!
  2. im pretty sure coldel was running an R33 for a while - i'm sure he'll be along in a minute!
  3. oh thank god for that... thought you were going to say a Tesla! That Aston Does sound like the mother of all unholy things, but would have to get all those orange accents taken off - don't think I could be seen in a car with orange wing mirrors, prefer my cars slightly less showy.
  4. yeah I have a colleague with a 57 plate cooper S, and before the tensioner was done it sounded like a tractor! made even worse when he wasn't checking the oil and it was basically running dry, they do seem to like a drink!
  5. haha it is quite fun seeing the current mpg drop into single digits when you put your foot down!
  6. dont forget the timing chain tensioner. Any particular reason you've gone for the backwards baseball cap wearing version rather than the more practical hatchback?
  7. I would like to get it on track However making it regular could be expensive in that lol dont have to go regularly, just go once to see how much you can really lean on the brakes, chassis and tyres through the corners! Although it will be expensive if you want to insure it for track use, probably about £150 a day for your car.
  8. When are you gonna get the 370z on a trackday!?! Somewhere like Bedford, nice mix of corners, very little to hit and a long straight where you'll be seeing about 140...
  9. although that said, the E46 coupe is a handsome thing... it is one of those shapes that just works.
  10. noise definitely to the M3? nah, the V6 in a zed sounds better! had a few laps in commanders E46 at Bedford and it just sounded loud... not particularly nice loud, just loud. In contrast my 350z with just a cobra exhaust sounded glorious!
  11. white ftw! although it probably wouldn't be as bright as it is in the photoshop. But generally I love white and blue, really good colour combo IMO!
  12. get cougarstore to fit them as well! derby to Leicester is only 45 mins.
  13. that's the great thing about engine technology... years gone by you'd be happy that any car could do 30mpg on a cruise, let alone one that's got 270bhp. Nowadays the new BMW M4 can do 40mpg on a cruise, and that's got 425bhp! as you say, you might not ever actually do a cruise, but its nice to know if you do need to cross a continent you've got a decent range.
  14. that is good going - best I've managed in my new motor is 36mpg, doing a steady 72mph for 80miles up the A46. Think I saw 35mpg in the zed once, when going through the 50mph average speed camera zone on the M1.
  15. Welcome to the forum! If you fancy a run out with some other fellow zedders (and a whole host of other stuff) we've got a meet on from Kenilworth Castle, this sunday at 9am. More details can be found here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/100212-23rd-august-sunday-morning-breakfast-drive/
  16. that's a bit harsh... I think the summary of these threads is that the zed is just a reasonably brisk car, much the same as other reasonably brisk cars... its not a rocketship!
  17. yep, big rust on the right rear arch of my 53 plate zed. Was just starting to come through on the rear left arch as well. What I did about it? sold the car!
  18. unfortunately don't have any! was going to set the camera up after lunch, but never made it to after lunch! Although we weren't trying hard enough... nothing even close to a spin! did have an incident where 4 cars slid off at the same corner due to dropped oil, but thankfully all managed to avoid each other!
  19. i think theres a good bit of consumer advice here... don't take a car to half-arsed!
  20. ah so I wasn't a million miles away then!
  21. Well that was a fun day - beemer was handling great, and was fast... most satisfying moment for me was closing a gap on a lotus elise so he had to move over - I always through that lotus elises were sposed to be the bastion of sportscar motoring, but we're faster in our £800 bmw saloon (albeit with a few highly effective mods!) unfortunately day was cut short around midday, diff started making an alarming whining noise and on inspection appeared to have a drip of differential oil - suspect it was running a bit dry. Still, might use this as an opportunity to change our diff from a 2.93 to a 3.44, which would really help how it feels to drive on track!
  22. crikey, you did 8 hours at 100mph?!? How is the French Riviera at this time of year?!
  23. yes. yes you can be too stance. that looks ridiculous.
  24. ha not likely! have only spun once on a trackday, oulton park in freezing damp conditions. clearly not trying hard enough!
  25. last chance to come along, still 4 places left. It's this sunday, weather is looking good, still only £139 for the whole day!
