  1. but surely you already have an E46 M3 which will have the same engine in as a Z4M, so... how many S54s do you need? i'd have to stay with a 370z just to keep it different from the M3. (and yes I know I now run a beemer for track duties and a beemer for road duties, but they're completely different lol)
  2. Boooo that sucks... unfortunately nothing you can go about it! We had a day at Snetterton called off due to thick fog that just wouldn't go away. Which sucked as it was a 5 hr round trip for nothing! Still, could have been worse... Chris (Keyser) had a 7 hour round trip for nothing...
  3. 19s for show, 18s for go. Which is more important to you, how your car looks, or how your car drives? Personally, i'd put the 18s back on if they drive noticeably better.
  4. Do you NEED spacers? No, of course you don't. the car is perfectly fine without them. do I think your car would look a little better with some on? I suppose it probably would. Would I buy spacers if it was my own car and my own money? No, I probably wouldn't bother! but as its your car and your money, yes it needs spacers, along with a TT kit.
  5. in terms of breathing mods you've already got everything you need to get the most from a remap - decats, y pipe, plenum spacer and induction. as mentioned, you'll hopefully be around 290 - 300 at the fly with those mods.
  6. 35psi all round is standard on 18" wheels. whats the graphics on the wheels? did the previous owner have then hydro dipped or something?
  7. launching a car from a standard start is indeed a killer... strange that car performance is based so heavily on it, when actually getting a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds or whatever will likely kill the drivetrain after a few attempts. As you say, far better to get it rolling and get the clutch fully engaged before giving it a bootful!
  8. you can read the Wikipedia page relating to Tallyho. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tally-ho
  9. From Wikipedia: Roger — "I have received all of the last transmission" in both military and civilian aviation radio communications. This usage comes from the initial R of received: R was called Roger in the radio alphabets or spelling alphabets in use by the military at the time of the invention of the radio, such as the Joint Army/Navy Phonetic Alphabet and RAF phonetic alphabet.[4][5] It is also often shortened in writing to "rgr". The word Romeo is used for "R", rather than "Roger" in the modern international NATO phonetic alphabet. Contrary to popular belief, Roger does not mean or imply both "received" and "I will comply." That distinction goes to the contraction wilco (from, "will comply"), which is used exclusively if the speaker intends to say "received and will comply". The phrase "Roger Wilco" is procedurally incorrect, as it is redundant with respect to the intent to say "received".[6]
  10. i don't think the necessary adjustment is at the cable, it needs to be adjusted at the handbrake shoes. 350z handbrakes are pretty dire, if you're parking on any kind of slope best leave it in gear as well.
  11. Well, I don't think I was too far off with these guesses all those months ago. Lewis has definitely made Nico look like crap, the McLaren definitely is a turd, and Seb has been miles better than Kimi. Sadly Alonso hasn't been better than JB, and Maldonado is still there. I think given a half decent car Alonso might have been faster, but I think both drivers are actually very similar in their abilities, and both are nearing the ends of their careers. funny you say Maldonado is still in it, but hes been a bit more consistent of late, his last crash was 54 days ago now!
  12. Somehow I doubt Mercedes would have let Hamilton try some Rodeo in Texas before the US Grand Prix, but now that he's world champion, why not try some wrestling moves
  13. this is possibly the best thing I've seen all week
  14. do you have a history of killing clutches? i'd be fuming if a clutch went on a brand new car after 6 months driving.
  15. In near freezing damp conditions last year we managed a 2:25 on cheap road tyres, so have to hope that dry conditions and decent tyres gives us another 11 seconds lol This was us last year:
  16. Interesting, just been looking at your laptimes... for the first session across 4 laps I get 2:14, 2:14, 2:13, 2:14, so pretty darn consistent! Second session across 3 laps I get times of 2:18, 2:14, 2:16. We're booked in with Javelin for a months time... so I think our target time will be 2:14, despite around an 80bhp deficit if we can get heat into the tyres we might have a chance, assuming you set those times on normal road tyres.
  17. yeah videos are still taking a while... still need to get the camera setup a bit better as well I keep meaning to do it, but I get distracted by all the driving lol, we did 217 miles in the rain on Saturday! meanwhile, heres a link to a pic (wont let me embed it): http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?view=detail&id=34181&option=com_joomgallery&Itemid=13
  18. man i miss the sound of my zed! looks great fun, hoping to book oulton park in a months time, hopefully the weather will still be reasonable. Any problems on the day besides the brakes?
  19. nah im bored of this now. Someone message me when the punchline is revealed.
  20. ah, its badly parked... that must be it. or theres a directional tyre mounted the wrong way round.
  21. sheesh, I have no idea what any of you are talking about!?! edit - just got Dans one. though i'd say 'thwack' was more appropriate, but there must be literally hundreds of great comedy one liners in The Simpsons.
  22. problem is finding an unmolested S15 - there are two on autotrader currently, but both are heavily modified - admittedly the blue one looks quite nice, but even so, would prefer a standard one. also, when are lotuses going to start dropping in price!?! even the series 1 elises are still silly money for what amounts to be a bit of aluminium and not a lot else. shame really as i'd like to try one! hopefully S2000s will continue to drop, think that's what my missus needs as her next car, definitely...
  23. depends on the manufacturer... some (normally german) understate the power figures, and produce cars that actually make a little bit more power. My 335i is in the book at 301bhp, but actually tests between 310 and 320 or so. And don't forget the gentlemens agreement in Japan to not sell cars with over 276bhp - several were quite some way over that when they left the factory, but officially they were 276bhp. all this reminds me... must remember to let Esure take more money off me when I get mine remapped next week...
