  1. You mean, you don't want to admit you bought and ran a zed on Accelera Tyres
  2. i bought my 53 plate car with 41k on the clocks for £6800, 4 years ago now! sold last year with 70k on the clock for £5500. granted it wasnt cosmetically mint but it was mechanically sound. I'd be haggling hard, theres plenty out there for sale, £6k should be enough to secure a decent one.
  3. lets see, track car with a broken engine was sold through ebay auction. The zed was sold through ebay classified advert, to the third person who came and looked at it. cant remember any problems.
  4. agreed the turbo'd MX5 sounds the best path to follow, but i'd go slightly different, and spend my £6 on an S2000, then 6k on a TTS Supersport Supercharger kit and have 400+bhp on tap
  5. hmmm interesting! importing a car from 'murica may be a bit ambitious, but the other two look like a solid way of spending £20k! ps a couple of paragraphs in the MX5 build are the wrong way round.
  6. what is it about Avril Lavigne? as you're old enough to be her grandfather...
  7. I quite like fifth gear... but think for some reason i'm in the minority! and the last series of top gear was very hit and miss, I just hope new top gear has more hits than misses. guess we'll find out come May.
  8. well therein lies the inherent problem with topgear - needs to appeal to the widest possible audience, who are far more interested in three idiots larking about. Actual car people want a show about cars. Me personally, I want an entertainment show, based on cars. if I want a car show, there is loads and loads of youtube content out there to watch, and to be honest once you've seen one car review you've seen them all. What I really hope is that new top gear isn't scripted for laughs as much as old top gear, that's the thing that really grated about the old show. Hopefully with a large fresh team they wont need to script anything for a good while yet.
  9. fair enough, don't do any of those when I drive a manual. however, my auto box seems to be a fan of trying to accelerate from 1000rpm, which just doesn't work
  10. anyone care to inform me of the 5 things you should never do so I can comment in this thread, but so I don't have to waste 8 minutes of my life watching a patronising video?
  11. I mean the MPSS, nobody likes the MPS3. I believe the MPS4 is supposed to blend the high performance of the MPSS with the confort and longevity of the MPS3. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Michelin-Pilot-Sport-4-Press-Release.htm comes in all the right sizes, might well give these a go on the beemer when I've got through my Eagle F1s.
  12. After reading that EVO review im coming round to the stang... it has all the right elements of a proper sports car, independent suspension, limited slip diff, switchable traction, steering and ESC control. plus didn't realise it had over 400bhp. It is really a lot of car for the money. however having been in a Toyota GT86 and being less than impressed with the interior quality, since that's where you'll be when you're doing the driving, it needs to be better. I think if it had a Nissan badge on the front, a twin turbo V6 under the bonnet making the same power and a 390z badge on the back, i'd be all over it. however its hard to get over the Ford V8 motor Mustang American Yank Tank image, which spoils it for everyone who isn't American or wannabe American.
  13. I'm interested to see how the Continental Sport Contact 6, Goodyear Eagle F1 3 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 all compare... since each of their predecessors were brilliant. I'd say with confidence that if either of the GY Eagle F1 or MPSS were included in that test they would have been somewhere in the top 5.
  14. I've got no problem with sportscar companies diversifying into shooting brakes/posh SUVs, if it means they can carry on making proper sportscars. Hence why I've got no problem with the Cayenne, and wouldn't have a problem with a Lamborghini Urus. Besides, most of the really posh SUVs we aren't going to see many of them over here, most will go to the middle and far east. Anywho back to the GTC4Lusso... silly name, but I like the design all the way to the 5% at the back - lights make it look rather dated. Sure it will be a stonking drive though.
  15. And with that i'm gonna bow out and nominate Wasso, with the obvious question - when's your zed going to be ready?!?
  16. Oooh I know a good one.... if I could freeze time I'd rock up at the Nissan festival at Fuji Speedway, and while everyone was in suspended animation take out every car there for a lap or two of the circuit. best thing is no one would ever know!
  17. one sprinkle for an evening... well, i think AmyZed is tres gorgeouoso but i dont think Amy, her boyfriend or my wife would appreciate me doing any entertaining! so i'll entertain Wendy with an evening trackday somewhere
  18. actually not including consumables? where's that M6 - to hell with the fact that i'd be burning through brakes and tyres at about £1000 a trackday! never really been a huge fan of lightweight cars which is why I don't want a caterfield... too twitchy, I want a big powerful bruiser I can go really fast down the straights in, and pull massive lairy skids with ease round the corners.
  19. ha, no don't wave to any other bmw drivers - but only because I've no way of telling if im waving at a boggo 320d or a proper 335i. its actually a shame, I miss waving at 350zs occasionally. and £30k on a track car.... hmmmm that's a bit of a tricky one... well, I've always liked E46 M3s, fully kitted out would be awesome fun. however that's a bit mainstream, so... maybe a 400bhp supercharged fully kitted out S2000 would be quite a machine. or a radical of some description if I can get them in budget, which might be a big ask.
  20. and why cars? well, it used to be bicycles, but ashamed to admit but the new series of top gear got me into cars so I always knew it was going to be cars. And then third year of uni finally got my first car. and then a couple of years after that I sold my bike and bought a share in my first track car I think its the noise and feeling of power more than anything else... nothing beats dropping a cog and flooring it for an overtake for example. and also the tremendous sense of freedom, it opens your world up so much more when you realise you can go anywhere in the UK. Oh, and controlled oversteer is the best feeling in the world. definitely wouldn't like cars as much if i'd only ever driven FWD cars (although lift off oversteer in my old pug 306 was quite entertaining)
  21. Animal... well cats and dogs have a pretty easy life... domesticated bliss, no worry about survival or hunting for your own food. although you don't get much action from the opposite sex, so it'd have to be a stud horse. still the same cushy lifestyle, but get your pick of the mares
  22. yep i'd go with 275/40, you aren't going to notice a .25mm difference compared to a 245/45.
  23. That's an easy one - KyleR's BMW M6. Although wouldn't mind giving Nic's (Nissanman312s) supercharged 370z a go! Or anyone who's got a GTR, i'm easy really!
