  1. yeah, theres quite a few round here... in fact I'm not even the only one at my work! Theres another two gunmetal zeds in the car park most days, and another black roadster i walk past every day! flashed an azure i saw today as well! I think leamington is zed capital!
  2. hmmm, it always seems to be after big floods that councils do anything... had some bad floods in Leam last year, so this year they've modernised the victorian sewer system. really hope you come through it ok!
  3. I think you can have plenty of fun and still be mechanically sympathetic to a clutch. Once its in gear and clutch is engaged, ie, not slipping, you arent using the clutch. doesnt matter then if you are pootling or booting it. Lots of stop-start traffic or worse, keeping the car stationary on hills by slipping the clutch will kill it quicker. Oh and smoky wheelspinning starts, but thats just hooliganism
  4. airfield day with a spare set of tyres to be thrashed? Yes please! do let me know if you're looking for someone to go halvses on the fuel and entry fees
  5. arrgh now i cant get 'dumdumdumdum dumdumduuuum dumdumduuum dumdumduuuuuuuumm...' out of my head...
  6. Lots of people don't spin on mixed tyres y'know, it's not instant crash and burn. +1 to that... i cant see how michelins on the front and bridgestones on the back would a bad thing! Now im thinking, to be honest, why dont tyre manufacturers do complimentary front and rear tyres? Since the fronts are 100% steering, whereas rears are more like 70% power and 30% steering, makes sense to me to have different tread patterns front to back?
  7. I think there are a few of those threads already..... I knew there would be, hence why i didnt do it myself!
  8. That sounds pretty unlucky to me, nearly new falkens shouldnt do that! as others have said, check tyre sizes, pressures and alignment, but to me it just sounds like you hit a slick of some kind. hope its sorted out ok! Might be an idea to get some driver training if you havent been in rwd cars very long... firstly, because its an absolute hoot, and secondly cos it might just come in handy in these kind of situations... if you arent used to the back stepping out its easy to not correct enough, or to catch the slide, but then not know when to uncorrect, and go off in the other direction. I know from when i first moved to rwd the feeling when the back steps out was entirely alien to me, but after a few training sessions it feels a lot less strange
  9. Anyone fancy starting a 'How high is the mileage on your zed?' thread with a poll? Would be interesting to see how many members are actually driving cars with over 100k on the clock, and see what the max is (although 174k will take some beating!)
  10. i clearly live in far too posh a town... i hardly ever get a second glance in my zed - people round here are clearly far to used to seeing R8s and GTRs and the like to care about a lowly 350Z (darn Leamington Spa) Its possible im getting overlooked as I got Gunmetal 'Drizzle' Grey, and have a standard exhaust so nobody hears me coming!
  11. Lol i was just wondering who the other RIP was on here earlier today... Eric someone?? Clearly showing my (lack of) age! Anyways, yep Pininfarina means a lot more to me than that other bloke... was very tempted by a 406 coupe at one point - probably about the only car of his i could ever afford!
  12. i like it... but im sure someone will be along with a link to the 6 or 7 page thread from before, i cant remember what i wrote about it now!
  13. Mmmmm just played all 6 videos at the same time... the resulting crescendo of V6 goodness made me do a little sex wee.
  14. Want! that looks awesome! looking forward to hearing the feedback from some of the track goers on it!
  15. yep, i've pretty much wanted one since they came out, plus they are now just in my price range. However, it would have been even more awesome if i didnt get a 300ZX first, as it meant that when i did move to a zed, i already knew what the power and torque would feel like. I'm also in the position that i think the 350Z is a better looking car than the 370Z, so no worries for me about wanting the newer one - only thing i'd swap between the two is the engine.
  16. Nice! Stunning, stunning stuff. I am very very jealous of you! Thats next summers roadtrip sorted!
  17. What in the name of all thats holy is that monstrosity
  18. its good to know that admiral are sensible about these things! did they charge any admin fees at all?
  19. man i hate insurance BS. i bet thousands of people have bought secondhand cars and are blissfully unaware that the previous owner has modified them in some way and thus are techically committing insurance fraud. To be honest I dont know whether my brake pads are OEM or not, but they work just fine. However two things i know that arent OEM are my tyres and engine oil, both of which have a huge effect on the handling and the likelihood the engine will fail - would one have to inform the insurance about them as well? Cos if so my previous thousands is now millions! How non standard are the discs and pads? if you're swapping to a big brake kit then yes, i'd tell the insurance. But if its exactly the same size discs, and some sort of road pads, then I wouldnt bother IMO.
  20. Errrm... One for me... but to him I owe 100% of my zed ownership, cheers Ash! No one else even got a look in, he saw I was in the market, sent me a cheeky email direct and i had it off him a few weeks later
  21. well gotta feel sorry for Italy! but well deserved winners Spain, they looked strong all through the tournament. plus at the risk of losing many man points, the spanish kids were adorable good work Spain!
  22. Pssh the real question is, do you watch it on BBC or ITV? i've gone for first half ITV, but then they had an ad break so i've switched to BBC...
  23. if thats the K1 you're refering to then you've got the wrong man!
  24. Oooh oohh first time i've ever said this! http://tarmacsportz.co.uk/350z-exhaust-systems.aspx
