  1. ahem, assuming 5 vouchers cost you £15... if you plan on using 20 vouchers on 4 full tanks, i'd be paying about £60 for them, and you'd then save £100!
  2. honestly... if you put 70 litres in, you save 70x 50p, which is £35. so if the vouchers cost you £15, you make £20 saving. To maximise your savings, you want to be running on fumes before you fill up! at your own risk, obviously...
  3. That looks about the most fun you can have in an hour, good work! and an excellent result for a zed - next time out its a winner!
  4. nice one, the last promotion saved me about £50. good work tesco!
  5. welcome to the forum! Id have thought that you could just swap the insurance over to the zed for the remaining month, which will cost hardly anything as it'll be just the difference for the remaining month, and then renew as normal in a months time with the extra NCB. As long as your insurer will uphold the years NCB when you switch cars, you should be ok, and then you get to drive it now!
  6. awwww man must resist being so close to xmas... gf would not be best pleased... but soo shiny! GLWTS
  7. haha very good! any eejit can overtake by breaking the speed limit - i get back at them when i'm motorway cruising... was cruising along doing 70 and thought my clutch was slipping, as my car suddenly making a lot of noise... turns out its barry boy in his 1litre corsa thraping the nuts off it doing 80 to get past... however such is the torque of the zed that even in 6th gear if you put your foot down you build speed quickly!
  8. never been a fan of fezzas tbh, a bit obvious (although granted its because they're excellent). when money can stretch it'll be either a gallardo or an R8 for me. However for £35k... my money would be on a tvr most likely, something very shouty like a sleeved Sagaris. always fancied a Noble M12 as well, but would probably be a bit raw for living with day to day. My sensible choice for £35k would be a AM Vantage for £33k, then £2k for a louder exhaust
  9. how much driving do you do off road? cos if its not actually that much, my argument has got to be a nice BMW estate... something like a 530d would fit the bill i think for oodles of space and towing ability, driving enjoyment and comfort, and economy.
  10. You want to get them tyres sorted out regardless of whether you have the esp on or off! It'll be a lot more 'on' with cheapo tyres. Had my zed 9 months now, and always had the ESP on. The road is no place to be testing the limits of grip and speed in my view - however, if i ever take my zed on a track, i'll have no problem turning it off.
  11. £900 to spend is surely the Invidia Gemini - or if you're wanting something a little louder go for a Buddyclub - that'll definitely let you know you've got a 3.5 litre motor under the bonnet
  12. Excellent race, never seen such a move from the back to the front of the field for Vettel. Reminds me of Plato's efforts in the BTCC recently. Remarkable that its so close with just two races to go. Havent followed F1 for a few years, but this year is pulled me in and kept me hooked. looking forward to see how Austin works out!
  13. MMmmm bet you are very very pleased with it after such a long wait! however now its clean, you have to drive it and make it dirty again...
  14. sorry very boring one here... friend of a friend at uni.... been together coming up to 5 years now, so all good!
  15. Yes unfortunately the long standing subaru partnership has ended - nowadays they're mainly preparing all the Aston Martin GT cars, and the mini countryman WRC cars. They did take me to their museum/show off room after the interview... lots of lovely motors, including a rothmans metro 6R4, numerous world championship winning subarus, Aston Martin DBR9, BAR Honda F1 car, and a rather tasty Gulf liveried Lola LMP1 car.... if im ever having a bad day i'll just take a wander round there to get my spirits up! i unfortunately wont be working with race cars, ill be on the automotive technology side, but still, it'll all be chassis development and optimisation, the famous prodrive active differentials, and then fabrication of other components and composite materials. However im no engineer so i wont be doing that myself, but i'll be making sure that the projects run on time and on budget I am a bit nervous, but hopefully i'll pick it up quickly - plus my passion for all things automotive hopefully shone through in the interview - anything that makes a car go, stop or corner better is well up my street!
  16. Thought i'd share a bit of good news! After the last four years managing market research projects for clients i have no interest in (skincare and healthcare products, and cheese ) and for a company that hasnt promoted anyone for 2 years, hasnt given payrises for 2 years, and after realising i was getting paid less than people who'd been in the company half the time i had, i decided enough was enough.... the work wasnt difficult, but just wasn't interesting or rewarding, so looked elsewhere.... So, i know i wanted to do something related to the thing i like... cars, and racing! was going to apply for the Aston Martin and Jag Landrover Grad Schemes, but happened to also look on the Prodrive website, since i know they're just down the road. And seems they were recruiting for a project coordinator, to start as soon as possible! winged them across a CV, and then one interview and some online aptitude tests later, they offered me a job! Massively massively pleased, so happy to be leaving a dead end job and working for possibly the most reputatble racing outfit in the UK, Prodrive! and yes, managed to negotiate a 24% pay rise for the same working hours, so dead chuffed! Going to be spending all day around cars and automotive technology - all they do is performance motoring! Only thing im worried about is that its 20 miles away - which equates to 9600 miles a year! dont really want to put that on the zed, so will probably buy a cheap diesel snotter just for commuting and keep the zed for weekends. but overall, really pleased! start on the 4th of December!
  17. you're not wrong, she looks well moody! But a great look for a zed, good work!
  18. any updates? if you arent gonna get to do anything with the little chap, send him on to the next person - gotta be lots of people doing interesting things in the autumn. Hell send him back to me and i'll take him to tenerife in a few weeks
  19. Yep, as suspected, saw you coming off the sainsburys roundabout this afternoon just as i was coming on - i would have waved, but doubt you would have seen me! Lovely looking zed you have, have to get you to some meets! talking of which, Wasso?
  20. Welcome from a fellow Leamington Spa Zedder! Thats clearly the best colour you've got as well! if i see you around i'll wave!
  21. I cant say im that surprised to be honest... imo starting at £500 is too high to get people interested. P'raps start at £300, and hopefuly get a few bidders. Also if the tyres are on 3-4 mm of tread, they'll need replacing in the not too distant future... and also white is a very marmite colour for wheels, you would get more interest if they were standard! EDIT - just noticed mismatched tyres pretty much all round, so would definitely need replacing! i'm lowering my starting bid to £200, sorry!
  22. He'll definitely have a CYPRES, without a shadow of a doubt... after all, 'RED BULL SKYDIVER DIES AFTER 120,000FT FREEFALL' wouldnt look very good as a headline on the worlds newspapers!
  23. should have got to Maccamans a couple of weeks back now - unless postie has lost him again...
  24. I must disagree with the others on here - everyone knows that Wanli's are the tyre of choice for most high powered BMW, Porsche and Audi drivers - i hear they're getting a good rep with Lamborghini guys as well such is their levels of grip and wet and dry traction. in terms of tyre rating i'd say Falken, Toyo, Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin, WANLI!!!
