  1. errrm, probably shouldnt say what i've just done... doing right now, dinner
  2. I think they do look better on darker cars - would look really mean on black. Doesn't work so well on silver imo.
  3. theres one on ebay at the moment i think.
  4. awesome! we like GoT Tyrion is the best >facelick<
  5. That looks pretty good! Not a fan of the dildo style knob, but that looks a proper job.
  6. Great shots! the third pic is indeed a shoe in for the calendar, stunning!
  7. scorpion isnt a loud system - cobra non resonated sounds like a good bet. Or if you want a properly loud system, a buddy club
  8. mmm, so a car meet i'd get to on the train sounds pretty good to me, will pencil it on the calendar.
  9. if it didnt event try to move (as opposed to trying and failing to move) it might be the switch - my car (pretty much identical to yours) requires holding the switch up, then a little bang just below the switches to get a connection, then it will go up fine. I keep meaning to get it looked at, but when its cold i use the air con rather than open a window - only time its annoying is trying to get into car parks, but that inconvienience isnt with the £180 charged for a new motor!
  10. ..... says the Daily Express. However, the Met office is a little more optimistic: UK Outlook for Thursday 17 Oct 2013 to Saturday 26 Oct 2013: Generally unsettled conditions at first with temperatures recovering to near average or rather warm, and milder nights than of late. However, strengthening winds and rain will limit the warmer feel. Bands of occasionally heavy rain and strong winds will spread northeastwards across the UK, interspersed with more showery weather and a risk of gales at times in the west. However, eastern and northeastern parts may only see small amounts of rain initially with brighter conditions persisting longest here. By next weekend, the unsettled weather will affect the whole of the country, with periods of rain and cloud alternating with brighter, showery spells. Probably remaining changeable through the following week, perhaps with a gradual improvement in the south and east. Temperatures on the warm side of average. UK Outlook for Sunday 27 Oct 2013 to Sunday 10 Nov 2013: The unsettled weather expected by late October is considered more likely than not to persist through the rest of the month onwards into the first week of November, leading to slightly above average rainfall amounts for some regions. Temperatures during this period may well remain close to or a little above average throughout, especially in the south, leading to a lower risk of frost here than can usually be expected at this time of year. There are some indications that the second week of November may see drier than average conditions across some parts of the country with temperatures probably returning to average.
  11. Very nice, looks like the perfect road for driving. Great Photo too, definitely one for the calendar
  12. i might be wrong with some of the prices, but the £1500 was definitely the price fro zedworld for supply and fit a replacment engine, with a warranty. the replacement fan was also a supply and fit job, but may not have been as much as £250 - there might have been a new radiator in there as well lol. and yeah, the conrod was a weird one... just went to pull onto a roundabout, loud bang and then no power - in the 20 minutes the car was by the side of the road it had generated a puddle of murky brown liquid the size of the car. My claimed mileage at this point was i think around 70,000 - although when the garage did the gearbox work, they noticed that someone had swapped the original engine out for one from an automatic, so that mileage meant nothing i should have checked my sills more carefully also - i got under there and they all looked good, but when it came to MOT time, the garage showed me the dates from the newspaper that had been usd to stuff the sills, and it was only 2 months before i bought it If you're gonna buy one, be prepared to invest in it!
  13. hmmmm, problem is its an unknown. i bought one two years back for £3000, after i realised that the insurance for me at the time (i was 23) was ridiculously cheap. And to be fair, while it was working, it was an awesome, awesome car. However, in the 6 months that i owned it, it cost me a lot of money - first were steering bushes issues (£200) then the clutch went (£600) then the turbo oil return pipe replacing, then the new clutch started slipping, then just about my 24th birthday it failed on mot for rust which i thought i checked (£600). Also at some point while it was in a garage they noticed the previous owner had stuck a nail through an intercooler when fitting a front bumper, so needed a new intercooler. Oh also the electric fans stopped working, so had huge overheating problems, so the original viscous ones went back in (£250) Then once id got all this working and the car was how i wanted it, i had the boost turned up from 9 to 13psi (previous owner had already fitted decat exhaust, induction kit, and larger intercoolers) but then after two months with approx 330bhp, a conrod snapped, and flooded the engine with coolant. Had the option of either source a replacement engine (£1500) or scrap the car and get some money back (got £1200 back from parts) in the end i was getting tired and skint, so saved up for a 350z instead. When it was working properly, it was an epic, awesome, awesome, epic, awesome car! When you put your foot down and the roar of the engine and watching the boost gauge spin round to 13psi and all hell breaks loose... amazing! and when you catch the reflection of yourself in a shop window, driving arguably one of the best looking cars, you will be a happy man! but definitely know what you're getting into - after all, its a 20 year old car now, and it was technically very advanced when it came out - twin turbo, twin intercooled, rear wheel steering, cruise control, aircon, the works. all of which can go wrong. if you do take the risk, check everything very very carefully, go through the service history with a fine toothcombe and dont accept any absences. personally i wouldnt risk it, a newer 350z is just as quick and considerably less to go wrong - admittedly it doesnt have the kick of twin turbos though if you do go for it, best of luck to you!
  14. Does exactly what it says on the tin! Have to say, the Nismo kit does look awesome IMO
  15. yeah, im sure someone will want it! but it'll be an easier sell with some tips on, definitely worth a call to cobra.
  16. Indeed, they take a very dim view of exceeding noise regs... when i went last time they suggested any car that tested over 95dB static would need to be very wary on the driveby.
  17. Hi All, Me and Ken have another trackday booked in the trusty BMW for Bedford GT circuit on Saturday 2nd of November, and wondered if anyone fancied coming along! Bedford is great circuit for beginners and experienced track goers alike - smooth, wide tarmac with lots of runoff make it very safe, but a good mix of fast sweeping turns and tighter hairpins make it tricky to master. Plus the back straight should see speeds of over 120mph easily The organiser is Javelin Trackdays, we've used them a few times before and never had any problems. http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/
  18. ouch! bet they wont do that again! big difference between an evo and a zed... although kinda surprising, normally a zed doesnt snap that quickly!
  19. again, £90 or so to fill up - my work commute is 20 miles each way, and if i just do commuting (no weekend driving) i wont fill up until i've done 400 miles on a tank (exactly two weeks driving) and normally average 28mpg - thats with the cruise control on normally set to 75-80mph. however, if i wasnt able to car share and half my petrol costs, i would probably buy a diesel shed for commuting... admittedly the cruise is nice in the zed, but im sure i'd be equally happy in a leather trimmed 320d, and it would be quieter.
  20. i'm pretty sure it doesnt fit like this... but top marks for trying, exhausts can be tricky jigsaw to assemble http://www.ebay.co.u...d=261285495015
  21. given the two choices given, GTR for me. never really cared much for the Evora. However, if it was my money, id be looking at Audi R8s!
  22. how much would you be selling the zed for? seems a lot of hassle to free up potentially maybe £2k... i think the s2000 would be more to insure and likely to return no better mpg if driven in a way to make comparable power to a zed. Also, better the devil you know - seems foolish to chop a proven reliable car for an unknown when saving money is the intention.
  23. whats a top gear system? is it the one off ebay?
  24. impressive pace, although i'd have stopped for the ladies...
