  1. the uneven wear on the tyres suggests the tracking is out - if you just replace the tyres they will wear in the same way - defo get an alignment done!
  2. Sure to divide opinions - future italian classic, modified with heavy JDM styling cues. Personally i think its absolutely incredible http://www.speedhunt...berty-walk-458/
  3. seems to have been removed already? have you already sold it?
  4. This guy uses a prop, but even so... sounds absolutely spot on! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7jl7z83MWc
  5. chuff that! and that run was only good enough for second place - this is the winning run, i think 2nd place was robbed!
  6. its that a cayman R? first glance i thought it was a panamera, looks a little... chubby... On principle i agree with the car (although not sure about that colour) - excellent chassis and engine. however i couldnt see myself in a porsche unless its a 911... always thought of porsches as being just too delicate, whereas i prefer a bit of no nonsense brute force for road cars. On a track im sure a Cayman R would make a lot of sense, but for the road i'll stick with my brutish 350Z.
  7. that looks fine to me! possibly a better job than i paid people £300 to do!
  8. does a standard nissan mid pipe and back box really cost £760 fitted? for a mere £100 more you could an all singing all dancing, cat back true dual Invidia exhaust... i know which one i'd rather! saying that, scorpion is a great replacement for standard, and only costs what is it these days? £380?
  9. Looking good! I love the LMGT4s... going to suit your zed really well! Looking forward to seeing it when she's all shiny, shame on you for letting her get so filthy!
  10. is that their first offer? when my civic was written off i was offered £1000 at first, which i got increased to £2000, and then to £2100. get on auto trader and find some comparable mileage and condition cars as evidence, and then when you ring the insurer back make sure you say its pristine, low mileage, FSH, etc etc. hopefully get a bit more out of them!
  11. trackdays in cars are great - i'd imagine you can be a lot more liberal with cornering stance, and dance the car through corners in the way you couldnt a bike. I'm guessing even the slightest rear slide on a bike normally ends in a rear slide for you, but in a car trying to constantly balance the understeer/oversteer is what makes it so awesome (or is that just my narrow tyres?) Also on car days, you can scare passengers i generally find car days are pretty well driven - you occasionally get the knob who turns up in a racecar and tries to outbrake you and barge through on the inside of turns, but normal roadcars are very curteous.
  12. whos it with? i normally use Javelin, and we're off to bedford this weekend, but their next one isnt until the 30th. word of warning as well, if its raining the track is more slippery than a very slippery thing (at least it was for me!)
  13. lol, why not go the whole hog and get unsilenced decat pipes, then there will be basically no silencing or gas restrictions anywhere in the system. Loud? I'd imagine it would be, very!
  14. was said car mid engined perchance? maybe in a front engined car you'd have caught it, but mid engined cars are a bit snappier, and get to the unrecoverable stage faster!. But even so, glad you were ok - get out on a nice wet trackday to get your confidence back!
  15. how many miles has the car done? i thought about 60k was normal for a clutch, but can vary hugely depending on how the car is driven. if it does slip, it'll start under full throttle in 5th and 6th. The method for testing a clutch as described above isnt really the way to do it...
  16. use it as a bargaining tool, 19s arent worth as much as 20s. Although 19s are better for zeds, and cheaper to put tyres on

    Chav's

Haha you're possibly the exception that disproves the rule!
  18. seems mc was indeed closest... tried it last night and it eventually started again, after about 15 seconds on the starter motor. just out of interest, as per NeilMHs comment, does the 350z prefer no throttle or full throttle to clear a flooded engine? i guess seeing as its drive by wire, it will only open the throttle when it is ready?
  19. got any more pics of the interior? white isnt a colour you see very often on seats!
  20. £8k seems a little steep for an 03 car with 71k on the clock, that car without the nismo kit and wheels is probably worth £6.5k, so depends how much the value the extras! but other than that looks like a tidy car
  21. awesome video! and with xmas just around the corner...
  22. i guess thats possible... if it is that, how do i de-flood an engine? i'm going to give it another try this evening, see if i can get anything out of it. Also, done a search for the error code reading guide, but can only find the one to reset the ecu, which i dont think is what i want to do... can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  23. Im pretty sure it isnt the battery, the starter motor is chugging away no problem. also, when i turn the ignition on the voltage reads 14v, whereas when the flat battery was in it was reading around 8v. will poke around this evening to make sure i havent accidently disconnected something, but if that doesnt work i'll try a pedal dance and get any error codes.
  24. So Monday morning, car doesnt start - starter motor tries to turn over, getting worse and worse until eventually nothing happening. Fairly straightforward flat battery. Its been on the way out for a while, so i get a replacement Bosch one. Battery arrives yesterday, i swap it in for the old one, and do a test fire up. starter motor chugs away, engine catches and starts fine. Problem solved i think. I leave it idling a minute and then switch off and come in. However, this morning, same thing again, but no starting. starter motor can be heard turning with the vigour only a fresh battery can give, but car not starting! Not coughing or spluttering or trying to start, nothing. just the sound of the starter motor going. my knowledge of engines extends to needing all of air, fuel and spark to start, but i dont know any further than that! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance! (its a standard 2003 350z)
