  1. yep will be watching this when it starts, I think Tuesday night will be game of thrones night and yeah, there is huge potential for spoilers in our household - my girlfriend has read all the books, and I have read none, so shes always known whats going to happen, whereas i'm always waiting for the next episode!
  2. oh and one actress gets a mention while I remember - Marion Cotillard
  3. Well this is awkward... my three favourite films are all by the same director... and all have Michael Caine in! 1. The Prestige 2. Inception 3. Batman - The Dark Knight as for actors/actresses... 1. Leonardo Di Caprio (used to think he was a douchebag, now hes completely turned around, cannot make a bad film) 2. Gary Oldman 3. Harrison Ford
  4. get on a us car site (craigslist? greggslist? creggslist???) and see how much a US zed is, as others have said, i'd sell yours here then buy a LHD one in the states, trick it out with some pimp US goodies. Plus if you buy a Californian one it probably wont have seen any salt or rust. If you dont want to sell here, is there anyone here you trust with a long term loan of a zed? a famiy member could look after it for a while for you, either drive it or SORN it and store it, with the usual provisos about long term storage of cars.
  5. you never know, almost 80 = maybe 78 indicated on the speedo? in which case actual speed might be around 74 maybe? you might well get away with it at that speed. If you were doing an indicated 90 then that's probably a ticket, but you might be lucky, fingers crossed!
  6. alright working now! yep that was definitely worth a watch, makes me want to watch F&F (the original) again!
  7. I dunno, how much of a difference is there between Kumhos and Linglongs? i'd consider both to be on the more affordable end of the spectrum to be honest... would it be... Michelin...............kumho.....................linglongs, or Michelin...........................kumho.........linglongs? or maybe its actually Michelin.kumho.linglongs..................................?
  8. have you tried Hankooks? they're getting lots of good reviews recently, similarly Avons might be a good bet around your pricerange, ZZ5s I think are the ones to go for.
  9. a better way to buy a TVR is buy a refurbed one from these guys... http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/
  10. number two for me now - had a 300zx twin turbo that i loved, but unreliable and terrible on fuel consumption. eventually went bang. had my current zed 2 years now, see no reason to change it any time soon!
  11. yeah i do have the V12 Evo K110s, might just go for S2 K117s, will check the prices on them as well.
  12. aww does this mean we have to close the thread now? been enjoying this, proper internet car forum stuff here!
  13. Dude you can do a lot worse than Uniroyals, rainsport 2s are actually sposed to be pretty good! now BAD tyres, well, Goodride, Accelera and Wanli come to mind... funnily enough that's what we have on our track BMW in the dry they're fine, touch of understeer when then fronts overheat. however in the wet, not so much lol they really can (and do) go sideways at about 20mph!
  14. Light bit of science on this one... data taken from all summer tyre tests on tyrereviews.co.uk (dates from 2009 to 2014, only looking at tyres deemed 'high performance', 'ultra high performance' or 'max performance') http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre-Tests/#summer this is the number of times each manufacturer has came 1st in the test, (sample size is 33 tests) Continental has won a whopping 13 times Pirelli next with 6 Goodyear with 4 Dunlop, Nokian, Hankook and Michelin with 2 wins apiece Vredestein and Bridgestone with 1 win each. So on that evidence, clearly Continentals are the 'best' tyre (of those, 9 are contisport contact 5s, the other 4 being contisport contact 3s, which was replaced by CSC5) However now for the disclaimer - while most tests are a combination of dry and wet performance, braking, handling, NVH and so on, each test will be slightly different - Secondly (and most importantly) not all tyres were available for all tests. However i'm sure if MPSSs were entered in every one, they would have wiped the floor with everything else As it was MPSSs only won overall twice, out of 33 tests.
  15. to the OP, how much tread have the fronts got? if theres still a reasonable amount on there, I definitely wouldn't throw away a reasonable tyre - unless its actually dangerous, which I doubt any bridgestone is, even a bad one. Assuming the fronts are ok, i'd try and match them as closely as possible - if you put MPSS on the back you'll induce understeer at the limit, if you put some cheap tyres on the rear you'll get oversteer at the limit. Unless you drive at the limit or are a professional tyre tester, I doubt you'd notice a difference between any of the top 6 brands. When I replace my rear tyres in May im purposely not going to get MPSS - as I only have Hankooks on the front, i'm going to go for something similar on the rear, so for me Goodyear Eagle F1s seem a good bet. To be honest I've actually never had a problem with Falkens, but seeing as I have a bit more money now and have found a good deal on goodyears, i'll try them.
  16. sheesh, a single song wont get you very far into a 20hr roadtrip! my usual selection is Gatecrasher Residents Transmission for 4 hours, most of the Deadmau5 albums, and then some Clubber's Guide to Trance - that's probably abour 9 hours worth in total, by which time its probably time for a motel!
  17. looks like some nice smooth driving - what did you think of blyton? have to say, your exhaust sounds absolutely awesome i want it!
  18. Ah sorry can't help you then, we've got a Beemer as well for track duties! We're hoping to do cadwell and croft in the summer with javelin, hopefully see you there!
  19. haha yep, bedford in january, one short shower then sun, Keevil in february, light cloud all day, Snetterton in march, one short shower then dry the rest of the day, we have been lucky! wherabouts you based? we're doing trackdays all over the country these days, but bedford is probably our local.
  20. This has crossed my mind but I love them too much Thanks for all the useful advice, I'll stick with the correct size. Currently I have FK453's fitted by the previous owner, same on the front, I'll likely get the same again I've had no problems with them. Haha yup this is true, 19" LMGT4s are the only wheel I would consider swapping my 18" rays for!
  21. how about, sell the LMGT4s on here for a shedload of cash, and buy some 18" rays? then you can run nice sensible 45 profile tyres
  22. thts a truly lovely kit - normally I don't like bodykits that much as they're very in-your-face, but that's really smooth and subtle. love the skirts and rear bumper. don't put a BGW on it, part of the appeal is a subtle look!
  23. hmmm the first set is a little extreme for me, maybe with just red inners it would be better. the five spokes with gold however look awesome, very motorsport.
