  1. oh and check under car and arches for rust, as with any car I suppose!
  2. I would probably push for them to Tax and sort the advisories (unless they have been sorted and they are just part of the history). I would also check the service in detail to make sure the type of services were done correctly P3 is the big one which I think should have just been done if its on that milage (not 100% sure on that though). Either way check when last P3 was. Passenger side window is common issue but cant understand why a car dealer would want to sell a car with that broken!! Get them to fix that!! How did it drive, any crunches into 5th as that is something to look out for. Clutch ok? Go and and drive a few so you get used to seeing how they feel, I drove 5 in one day and ended up buying the last one as it felt so much better than the others.
  3. think the fatter line is hotter (forward) and the thinner line is warm (back). Either way it freaks you out when you get in and the leather is cold and switch them on. Feels like you have wet yourself!!! Even better when you switch the passenger one on and your mrs doesnt realise!!! hahaha
  4. You do have to watch out for any new Audi/BMW, the performance and MPG they are getting from diesel engines these days is insane. Agreed I have experienced a lot of inflated ego Audi/BMW drivers but likely they are all company cars so they drive them like they stole them and are jealous of you driving a nice 2 seater sports car. Im always wary of diesels as so many people map them and get 1million lbft of torque!!

    Which fuel

its a performance car so it deserves super. I wouldnt skimp on running an engine like the zeds on low grade fuel.
  6. Well mine wasnt crunching, just a little stiff from 1st to 2nd but i changed oil with molyslip like you did. I did find that it was an immeadiate difference to the feel of the gear change. Maybe worth taking it ot someone who knows zeds to investigate, dont want to scare monger but could be synchro???
  7. I came from DC2. Having power on tap is awesome but it did take me a while to get used to not having my ears explode at 5k+ rpm!! (My DC2 exhaust was so loud!!). I dont think I would go back to vtec now.
  8. How did you manage to start Uni at 17 if your 21 and in your 4th year? Hope your enjoying the Z!
  9. huh I totally missed that! Thanks Mike
  10. Welcome! You will love having a Z and forget all about vtec yo!
  11. Yup get them replaced. I bought some Bosch wipers and they were great, no squeeks at all and I didnt coat the screen with anything.
  12. Assuming the code is correct then I would PM zmanalex for parts as likely cheaper than Nissan. Alex may also be able to give some advice if you talk it through with him.
  13. Voice commands work fine on a iPhone. But not always the best function as it cant understand you all the time. It hacks me off when the lady says "pardon"!!
  14. This just came up for sale at a garage just down the road from where I work. Was it anyones on here? http://www.shirecars.com/car-sales.html Seems very pricey!!
  15. never heard any complaints about it. Nice and thick and the spray stuff works well (flipping messy though).
  16. Have fun and get to know her. Always remember if you disrespect her she will get you back.....normally backwards through a hedge at 50mph!!
  17. I came to the Z thinking it would be refined and quiet but its really not that quiet at all!! Slap on an exhaust and floor it!
  18. i found the 350z clutch heavier than other cars I have had. Think a lot of 350z owners also say the bite is high and seems to be a common Z trait. As long as it doesnt slip you should be ok. CLutches go from 40k onwards but really depends on how it has been treated. Dont expect much change from £1k for replacement clutch and flywheel (including labour)
  19. ask if they have any fuel receipts to show its run on 99. I try and keep all of mine so next buyer knows its been run on the right stuff. Also when you test drive it have windows down and try and do some slower town speeds (as well as faster sections through the gears) so you can hear any potential rattles or if clutch/gearbox feels ok at slower speeds
  20. Perhaps a loose heat shield or undertray/ section of exhaust? Oil levels ok? any performance issues?
  21. Yup, drove a JDM Dc2 for over 3 years before the Zed. Zed requires a LOT more respect but I personally find the Zed more rewarding as you need to drive it smoother instead of just chucking it into the corners. Sometimes miss incredible handling of the Dc2 but the V6 growl more than makes up for it. Not as though the Zed has bad handling, its an incredible car and I would never go back to a fwd car now.

    Wheel refurb

I literally just came off the phoen from The Wheel Specialist in Birmingham. Just quoted me £288 inc VAT for doing my Rays. This is arriving with tyres still on and same day pick up service. Going for a slightly darker/smoke finish to standard Rays colour.
  23. Just a little unlucky bud, these cars will start to show their age with these little niggles. Just get them sorted and try and enjoy the car! Hope the engine is all ok. Understand its sometimes hard to enjoy it as you want it perfect all the time!!!
  24. Mine lasted about a year and then came back. Going to have to sort a kit from zman soon but I think its both sides which means more £££
  25. Fitted JWT popcharger and found it ok to fit. Little tricky getting it to sit nicely with heat shield but got there in the end. Makes it sound like a different car imo, so much better with popcharger.
