  1. Trying to install the CJM stage 0 fuel return system, just spent over an hour trying to get the return line either up from under the car to the fuel bucket or from inside the car at the fuel bucked down under the car. The fuel line is pretty stiff and there is no way get hands of fingers into most of it, I've tried using wire to pull it through. From what I can feel its trying to get round 3 90 degree bends. Anyone got any tips or pics of how they did theirs?
  2. Following with interest, looks a good project Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. Soo its been a while, forgot to update this with the new wheels, service & new front drop links. Nothing major so a a random pic of the car on the new wheels will do. All was pretty quiet with not much plans until getting the Golf R leading me to decide the zed needed more power. I had planned on waiting a year or so but Bennet (GT4zed) sorted me out a good deal for a supercharger kit so the journey begins. Firstly I needed to tackle the totally shot W brace so that was replaced with shiny new ultra speed one. It was that bad i could fold it into small enough bits to go in the recycling wheely bin. It has been a long patient wait on the parts arriving and there is still more to come but it should be worth the wait. First off up-rate the clutch and fly wheel, I went with the JWT light weight kit And so it begins. Access to remove the connector on that blue plug was brutal! Old clutch as found Never took any pics after this of the rebuild, put fresh oil and molyslip in once complete. Never came across many issues, New throw out bearing was about 10mm bigger in depth but should be fine once I've adjusted the clutch pedal. Struggled for a bit getting the gearbox to line up due to working on mono block the jacks wheels kept wanting to follow the grooves of the bricks, but got there in the end. Gave the car a quick test run down the street and all is good so car is back on the ramps, hopefully i'll start picking away at stripping the car and installing the supercharger after work when the weather allows. Its going to be a long slow process with work and weather restrictions.
  4. I got that spoiler years ago, subtle but sets the zed off. Can't remember the bodyshop complaining about any fitment issues. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Magic mate, can't wait to see how you get on Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Defo worth heckling your drop links. Mines developed a bad click/clunk from no where and there was minimum play but front drop links were the culprit. I was gutted as they had done less than 10k and we're white lines ones at £140 so didn't get much out of them Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Keeping tabs on this as I'd like to re fresh the breaks after boosting Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  9. I was referring to the days of Advocaat and O'Neill when the old firm gave some big teams a scare in the champions league I was referring to recent times not the good old days that I didn't witness I'm not grey like you remember I might be grey, but that is backed up with grey matter, not like you remember WTF did Advocaat or O'Neil win in Europe? Not even a semi final amongst them, or quarter final, O'Neil got a MBE/OBE for winning @uck all Show me the evidence of their success in Europe in 'recent' times O'Neil got to the final of the EUFA cup final 2003
  10. Yeh I couldn't believe it when he came back with that quote, I asked him are you sure this has the supercharger etc on it I was expecting to be paying around the £700-900 mark so well chuft with that
  11. Worrying that that's our best 4 defenders and one of them is actually a left mid playing right back
  12. Not what i'd normally consider a winter beater
  13. Results so far; Reis – modified insurance under review so can't insure me http://www.bridleinsurance.co.uk/ £ call back, been a few days http://www.prestigekeepmoving.com/ £ call back http://www.chrisknott.co.uk/ over 100bhp increase so won't insure http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/ £810 like for like mods http://www.paceward.com/ £ call back https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/ £ 484.40 mods like for like Looking like it will be a straight forward renewal with Adrian flux Can't get over how cheap they have quoted for it all.
  14. I'll stick REIS on the list to try as well Adrain flux have managed to beat everyone the last two years for me £400 for this year at renewal so expecting a few hundred more for this I've not contacted anyone yet Its due on the 14th so going to spend a day and just go through them all but will need to throw together a list of all the mods in detail so i'm prepared if that's how they want to do it.
  15. I always declare all my mods but I've never done anything as drastic as this before so wasn't sure how much detail they were expecting, My renewal is £410 i think with a long list of mods as it stands but I expect a jump up in price once I add the boost. I'll give Peace and ward a try as it seems to be mostly smaller companies that cover cars with long lists of modifications. That sounds a bit like common sense but how could you give them a figure for the day your taking it to be mapped, suppose that would be a grey area or you could just give them what you think it will make and if it's much different adjust it later on I suppose Makes sense as it only counts as one mod that way I'll need to dedicate a day to sitting down phoning all the companies in the next few days
  16. My insurance renewal is due next week, as the car stands just now it is still not supercharged but it will be getting SORN'd for the winter and will be fitting the kit over the winter/ spring while it is off the road. So i'd rather renew my insurance just now declaring the car as supercharged and know what i'm paying for the year rather than get a cheap renewal for how it sits just now only to get raped when i declare the fitting of the supercharger. Currently with Aidrian flux but got a list of others to try (Bridle, PrestigeKeepMoving, ChrisKnott, SkyInsurance) To what extent do you other forced induction guys go in declaring your boost mods? is it enough to just say its supercharged or do you need to list off everything that's been changed as per standard insurance? Sounds a daft question but not sure how much detail the insurance companies need and would like to get this sorted as easily as possible.
  17. I've got a similar one fitted, been good only issue i have is any time it tries to up date it keeps saying it has no space for data. I've got extra USB and micro SD cards fitted and moved all the apps it would let me over to them but it still says i'm short on space. I'm sure it will be an easy fix I've just not sussed it out yet.

  21. Did the same as marzman last week. Totally agree with him, autobox was terrible but would love to drive a manual v8 to see what a real one is like. Rare as hens teeth round my way. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. Anyone had these on machine finnished wheels? Thinking of a set for the golf r but read a few people saying that they trap moisture and lead to premature corrosion Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  23. My mate made a 4 post lift for his car using 4 farmers jacks (3 ton versions)... Basically he spaced them appropriately and bolted the 4 of them to his garage floor. Then he used steel box section to reach across from either side (one piece at the front & one piece at the back) with some welded plates on the tops which were shaped to fit into the normal jacking points on his Subaru. It actually worked really well and probably cost him only just over £100 to do. You had to jack up each one individually going round & round the car obviously until you got to the height you wanted which did take time but still doable on your own. Seemed safe enough & he used that set up for years with his car right up until he moved house. Thats clever I like it. If i had a decent sized garage i'd prob have splashed out on some sort of lift but unfortunately i have a modern sized garage which can't fit any modern cars a glorified shed really haha.
  24. Yeh i stumbled across them last night, They look good but a bit expensive though. Found this http://www.carlift-ramp-mr1.com/ aswell looks good, simple and solid just way too expensive. Just looking for better ways to get enough clearance to swap a clutch out on a driveway without breaking the bank as then i'd be just aswell sticking it into a garage
