  1. What was up with the utec? It didn't work. Theres a thread somewhere with a reply from the "tuner" who attempted to tune it. Cost me near anough £800 to buy it and get it installed Ouch!
  2. To be honest its a little bit earlier than usual but mainly due to the tax expiring at the end of October. I normally run things until it gets a bit worse but there isn't any point taxing it again for a month this year when its only a Sunday car. I have storage for 2 cars over winter and don't "have" to use the Zed so its going to stay off the road till next year. The only killer is paying £700 a year insurance for 6 months driving this year!
  3. Its come to that time that my car goes away over the winter period and this will be the first time for the zed.. I plan to start and run it up to temperature every couple of weeks to keep things moving but it will generally remain under a cover in the garage. bar the usual things is there anything particular to the zed I should look out for? Cheers Kev
  4. Agreed. my best mate has an ST and to be fair its about on par with my Zed. certainly from A - B its just as quick. The Zed is a nice car but its certainly not what I would class as "hot" much better cars if you want all out performance!
  5. I ran an MX5 last year and although it was drastically underpowered in terms of being able to overtake things it was epic fun in the bends and showed up a lot of other expensive stuff, they are also super reliable.... a turbo/charged one would be wicked fun.
  6. haha yeah very tempted to be honest!
  7. Here is my Cheap Track car. Its currently road legal but will be pure track from next year so I can make it even lighter. Its currently running 172bhp at about a ton in weight but we are looking to fit an SR20DET for about 250 reliable horses which should make it fun. Koni suspension, R32 GTR Brakes makes this a pretty cheap car to build and run!
  8. As much as I love my Zed I may well look at a V/G35 in the coming year as having 2 rear seats may actually be useful for putting a baby seat in.. and also for emergency passengers or trips abroad I don't really consider the 350Z a sports car as its a bit heavy in my opinion (its more a GT car in my eyes) so I don't think a V/G35 would disappoint . would definitely be interesting to drive one though to compare.
  9. Thanks mark, would be great if the plugs can be rerouted
  10. Hi guys, you guys seem to know a lot so i was wondering if you know if its possible to put uk indicator stalks on a jdm car. Id really like to swap mine out but dont know if its a plug and play or hack the wiring loom job! Many thanks. Kev
  11. Life is all about opportunities and taking them when you can perhaps now is the time to discuss access from the rear
  12. So how much did it set you back in total? 150% effort has gone into getting that back on the road!
  13. Dosen't help in this case as the bumper is not OEM hence why I asked if they function!
  14. can you tell I hate these sections with a passion! if someone cant be arsed to trawl through ebay themselves they don't deserve a bargain!
  15. do the headlight washers function? I believe they were a UK thing only
  16. And ruin any chance anyone who already saw it would get a bargain!
  17. the only thing not in that picture are daisy dukes!!
  18. Thanks. I think initially I'd be looking to just buy a few stocks and leave my money in for about 12 months to see if its a viable future for some savings. I appreciate you have to move with the markets but I certainly wouldn't be looking to make that many transactions a year so I guess I'm better suited to commission on transaction rather than a monthly fee. I'm starting to do a lot more reading up on this but its a complete minefield, I guess you just have to get on to some degree and learn as you go? any tips much appreciated!
  19. Excuse my ignorance if its already been covered but who do you guys use to buy your shares? I've been looking around and there seems to be loads of different ways and people doing it. any pointers on the most cost effective route would be great, Probably looking to spend about £2000 to start with. Cheers Kev
  20. I presume we are talking the "home" type steam cleaner and not the industrial buggers. I've not done the Zeds bay (I actually jet washed it this time because my steam cleaner broke) but I've done previous cars with no problems at all. Personally I follow these rules. Bag up anything that looks like trouble (IE Alarm sirens, Air filters if exposed etc etc) dont douse water into any intake pipe/tract dont spend half an hour rinsing for rinsing's sake. With regards to the steam cleaning, Its actually pretty good because you use less water than jet washing and its also hot so great for cleaning out grime. I found it particularly good at cleaning electrical connectors although again you have to proceed with caution. and if you can, always finish by blowing out with a compressed air gun, it minimises the problem of water sitting in places it shouldnt. Once done, get the engine up to temperature to evaporate anything remaining and make sure everything is functioning ok.
  21. thanks for the reply. Sounds an interesting project never the less!
  22. Sorry to butt in but is this related to fitting cruise to a JDM? if it is I'd be very interested in what your plans are. I've been told its not possible but if you have found the route to do it can you please share! cheers Kev
  23. thats not an attempted rip off in my book. It means that 2 garages charge more than the third. You will probably find that the 3rd garage is looking for business.
