Haven't looked up the numbers but I'd be surprised if the 350 is or becomes rarer than the 370. I almost never see the latter, but see the former quite regularly, often modded in what looks like quite a cheap and tatty fashion, which presumably limits long term value/appeal prospects.

Be interesting to see a vid of the difference between the Ark and Motordyne set ups.
-
Same colour as mine. Good choice.

You can also remove a pointless metal weight from the boot lid. There's a guide on here somewhere.

Seem to recall my Mk1 had a number on the strut brace behind the seats.
-
None of my 370s have had tape there. It looks like something the dealer should have removed. Just peel it off.

370 Nismo v 370 GT = negligible difference performance wise (I've owned both). The main benefit of the Nismo is better handling. HFCs and a CBE won't make a huge difference to performance, but will make the car sound a lot better. (The Nismo exhaust is better than the GT's but is still too quiet.) I don't personally think the Nismo needs styling enhancements. It would be very easy to make it look daft by adding to it.

The 370 is undeniably a noisy ride but you quickly get used to it. Reviews were almost universally positive when the car was first released but that's changed over a decade because the car hasn't really moved with the times. To be honest it's not an ideal daily driver - it's thirsty, visibility isn't great and tyres don't last long. On the plus side, it's a great car to drive that will put a smile on your face every time you use it. They're rare and turn heads despite their age. Don't forget to budget for an aftermarket exhaust. Even as a daily driver you won't want to stick with the weedy sounding stock system.

Well I guess this sort of qualifies. This was my A45 AMG (until I got bored of it and returned to a 370). Our friend's M4 is parked next to it.

Looks like a Whale Shark and not in a good way.
-
True. I was, but over time I began to miss all the things I liked about the Z. To be fair my decision was also partly a financial one.
-
My remapped A45 AMG was a "total weapon" (420bhp+) but it still didn't give me anything close to the pleasure of a Zed hence my return to the fold.

I couldn't find MPSS in the right sizes so bit the bullet on MPS4s. Well worth the money.

Could you post a link to the seller please.

I do like the Nismo - both variants - but I didn't want to put quite that much money back into a weekend car. I'm happy with the GT.
-
True. I think there will be a new A45 in the next year.
-
Funnily enough there wasn't much difference

As a fair few forum members seem to be contemplating moving on from the 370 to more modern cars I thought I'd add my tuppence to the mix. Last year I part exchanged my Mk1 Nismo for a Facelift A45 AMG which had pretty much every option going. I subsequently had the car remapped which took it from around 380 to 420bhp. It was on paper an undeniably "better" car than a Z - blisteringly quick, lovely interior and lots of great tech etc. It was even cheaper to run. But I never really felt the same connection to the Merc that I'd felt to the Zs I've owned. I missed the manual box, the sound of the V6 (with a decent exhaust) and feeling part of a group of owners who share a passion for their cars. (There's a perfectly friendly A45 forum but it doesn't have the community feel that you get here.) I also found that I could never use the car's performance to anything like the extent that it was capable of. And it was almost too easy to drive. While there was a financial element to my decision to return to a Z - I don't get to drive as often as I would like and it began to feel wrong to have that much tied up in a car that I only drive every two or three weeks - having now made the change, it was the right thing for me regardless of the money aspect. When I drove a 370 for the first time again last week it felt comparatively slow, heavy and noisy, but I felt so happy. I think it's more fun to drive at lower speeds than the A45 and despite costing less than half what I got back on that car, it feels more special to me and has already turned more heads than the A45 did in all the time I owned it. This is all subjective of course - some people might think I'm daft to go back in time to a car that hasn't really changed in nearly a decade, but I'm glad I did. I guess the Z line just has it's hooks in me! My new Z is a 2011 GT in Le Mans Blue. So far I've had the wheels repainted and added some MPS4 tyres. I might also put some spacers on it and, of course, the all important GTR starter button I probably won't do much more than that, for the time being at least. It's in remarkably good condition for its age and already has an aftermarket exhaust (can't quite work out the make but it sounds great).

I have just returned to a 370 from a remapped A45. I'll do a separate post, but the bottom line is that I found the '45 a bit sterile, despite it being streets ahead of the Z performance wise, and I found that I missed driving a manual.

I got a very slight scratch on the corner of the bumper.
-
Looks great. What wheel colour is that?
-
Pearl white does look good on a Z but has its downsides. It is an absolute nightmare to colour match if you get a scratch due to the three stage finish. I had so many hassles getting a minor bumper scratch properly matched on my previous Nismo I ended up having to get the whole bumper redone.

That's a shame. It's a great car. I regret letting it go myself but probably wouldn't have bought it again if id seen it for sale - I'm looking for a 370 that doesn't have so much money tied up in it as I only get to drive it occasionally.
