  1. I agree. I don't personally think there is any reason that religion should be specifically signled out for protection from mockery or criticism. That's how religions work - they tell you to believe in a load of superstitious hokum and then make it difficult to question or criticise, in some case by use of fear and violence. I care a lot about animal crueltly so I once got very offended when some *bleep* on here made a joke about having deliberately run over an animal (yes, it happened). Much as it offended and disgusted me (and would offend other people of a similar mindset to me), I wouldn't want to harm the person in question. I would just want to peacefully argue with them about it try to convince them that their behaviour was wrong.
  2. Very little chance of successful legal action (which would be a county court claim aka 'small claims court'). However, nothing to lose from writing a polite letter explaining what happened and asking them to compensate you. If they say "no" you've lost half an hour and the cost of a stamp.
  3. No harm in asking if you don't know something. He asked. Now he knows.
  4. That's fine if you know you need one in good time. I needed one at short notice once - you can imagine how easy that turned out to be with Nissan's stellar customer service approach.
  5. Yep - I couldn't find anyone willing to have a go at just one wheel but I'd rather pay for two and be happy with the results.
  6. It's quite noticeable close up but doesn't show up so well in pictures.
  7. If it is yours don't lose it. It's a massive pain to get another one if you do (for obvious reasons, they're not all the same).

    370Z Nismo

Yep - looks fine 'in the flesh'.
  9. TGM did two really good jobs for me, albeit on the Quartz colour of my previous Z. I'm only not using them this time as I seem to have found a more local shop with a similarly strong reputation (mostly on Merc forums). Unlike the poor OP, the scratch on my bumper is very small (two or three inches) and the guy reckons the location means he won't need to paint into adjacent panels (also getting a couple of alloys done at the same time as I kerbed one and nobody was confident of a perfect match unless both wheels on the same side are done - the body shop are sending them away to be powdercoated by Lepsons). I'll post up results in a separate thread next week.

    370Z Nismo

Owner on another forum has a red one which also looks very nice. White is my favourite for the Nismo (Mk1 at least) because it shows off the black accents. Black looks nice though. Those new wheels look like they might even more of a nightmare to refurb than the MK1s.
  11. I've been advised before that it's best to get at least two of the alloys done as it's virtually impossible to get an exact match with the dark colour Rays. A slight mismatch between the alloys from one side to the other will not be noticeable wheras a mismatch between the two wheels on one side will be - hence its best to have two done on the same side. A company called Lepsons gets good reviews. As for the paint, I've done a lot of my own research pending getting my bumper scratch repaired. A good painter should be able to do a repair that isn't detectable to the naked eye by blending the repaired area with the surrounding area etc. Pearls are supposedly harder to match, which is why you need to use a body shop with a very good rep. Like you I won't be happy unless the repair is invisible (although bear in mind that there is always a mismatch between bumper and body anyway due to the way paint sits on plastic and metal).
  12. I believe he's legally entitled to pick his own body shop.
  13. Welcome. I saw a vid on You Tube recently in which a guy reviewing the 370Z in the Netherlands mentioned is costs about 90,000 Euros over there.
  14. Sorry to see this. If you don't already know this, make sure you use a very good body shop for the repair - pearl white is apparently the hardest colour to match. I picked up a small scratch on my bumper over the Xmas holiday. Mine is in for a repair on Weds at a supposedly very good shop in Ashford (Middx) with a pick up date of the following Monday. If it works out well I'll PM you their details. Another good body shop is TGM in Fleet.
  15. Although I've moved on from mine I still think the Black Edition is the nicest of the non-Nismo 370s - the red interior and dark wheels really give it the edge. Anyone thinking of a 370 should give this some serious thought
  16. One of my favourite jokes/scenes from The Young Ones was in one of those odd scenes where they used to cut away to something really random. In this case a passenger plane cockpit...went something like this.... Co Pilot - I'm afraid of flying... Pilot - They say it's much safe than crossing the road... Co Pilot - But we have to do that as well...
  17. As said above, I'd be inclined to save your money and just make sure you clean the car carefully with decent products and wax or seal it occasionally in the usual way. I use this product on my car two or three times a year - it's absolutely brilliant stuff and much cheaper than expensive coatings. http://www.cleanyour...9/prod_484.html

    370Z Nismo

Has that suspension block thing (Technical term) been taken out? Its used for transporting the car. He means the shipping spacer They look like this. There can be up to three on each front spring. Occasionally they get left in but I think the main symptom is that it makes the ride even firmer than usual - not sure it would cause knocking but worth a look.
  19. Someone on here has recently bought a brand new bumper for his 370 - the Mk2 Nismo bumper. Not sure how easy it would be to get one now that the Mk1 is discontinued though.
  20. Interesting. If it helps at all I don't think that sounds like a battery issue. My car took three goes to start recently. It was the day after I'd fitted illuminated kick plates and two weeks since id last had chance to drive it. I was fairly certain it was the battery having drained a bit during the install (the instructions recommend disconnecting the battery, but having read up on US forums I didn't bother.) Once the car started and I went for a drive the issue disappeared and hasn't returned. The sound wasn't the same as yours though. Mine sounded 'drier' if that makes any sense.
  21. HFCs have had a similar effect for me, although it's still civilised when just cruising along. Quite noisy on cold start, nice growl when you put your put down a bit and really good on the downshifts
  22. I think sound wise they're probably all quite similar. The Stillen is sporty but not too loud. Bear in mind that you need something with fairly hefty tips, otherwise the exhaust will look lost in the large rear diffuser on the Nismo.
