  1. Interested to know if anyone on here has put spacers on a Nismo (Mk1)? 15mm all round seems to be a popular mod in the US. I've also toyed with the idea of Swift springs to lower it a bit (again very popular in the US) but I think I'd just try spacers to begin with. If anyone has done this I'd love to see pictures and to know which spacers were used (I believe the Nismo wheels require extended studs). Cheers.
  2. Edit - moved to separate thread.
  3. I quite fancy one of these next time if not an Evora 400. Prices are silly at the moment though.....
  4. I like a nice crackle from an exhaust. Shame the Z doesn't do that!
  5. I thought you might be I believe a few have been twin turbo'd in the US - not sure if anyone has supercharged.
  6. Depends on the mods really. It certainly doesn't need modding externally but new steats, exhaust, remap etc. have left me much happier with the finished product. I'm debating whether Swift springs and 15m spacers would finish it off nicely.
  7. You could sell your barge and then you'd only need to add a fiver.
  8. Go for it. Super rare even compared to the Mark 2 version. Price seems good.
  9. Although the question is specifically about how the car drives, looks is also a factor in buying. For me personally, the 350 is starting to look its age now whereas the 370 still looks quite modern.
  10. Just my personal opinion - don't kill it. My other half rescued one that was waddling across the road in broad daylight the other day - just missed being squished by a car. Beautiful little thing and better alive than dead. Find a non lethal solution if you can. (Try the bulbs suggested above).
  11. You will notice very little improvement in the Nismo exhaust note over the standard car. Budget an additional £1k at least to rectify the issue with an aftermarket system. Power is also fairly similar. Having owned both, the Nismo definitely feels quicker, especially with a remap, but the difference is not huge. Apart from looks, handling is by far the Nismo's strongest advantage over the standard car.
  12. That's my favourite GTR colour. Very nice.
  13. No problem. I need to find time to do the Nismo reviews.
  14. Assuming you have connect premium, I'd strongly recommend this one. I had it on my previous 370 and it was as good as the one that came with my Nismo. You can get someone local to fit it if you don't fancy doing it yourself. This guy's kits are well known and he has good reputation. http://www.carkitcom...ckup-camera-kit
  15. Yep I reckon auto specific metal polish is snake oil. My better half's jewellery cleaner works as well as anything!
  16. Thanks for sharing that Rich. In that case the figures could be correct. I must admit, of all the breather mods I had done, the HFCs were the only one where I actually felt a marked increase in performance and torque in my 'butt dyno'! However, based on my previous figures, whilst this is 'only' a drop of 18bhp, it is a drop of 40 ft lbs of torque! I was already having trouble with some overtakes and in hauling the car up the mountainsides in June. This time with less torque and a passenger the car is going to feel really gutless I fear. I must admit, whilst I like the Z as a daily, again I am starting to crave something with more shove for my touring exploits. Whilst it is fun keeping some of the supercars honest in the twisties, it would be nice to be able to take the fight to them in terms of power. The MR2 would be a blast, but dont want to put the old girl under such pressure, whilst I don't fancy testing the staying power (or lack thereof) of 1990s braking technology on long Alpine mountain descents! I would love to stay Japanese, but the modern Jap performance car market is pretty non-existent at the moment. GT86 is way too underpowered for my taste. That pretty much leaves only the Lexus LF-A, but that is 'only' 400 BHP ish in a much heavier car, albeith with a lot more torque. Still not really any quicker on a good twisting road however given the weight and handling deficit against the Z. Obviously there is the GTR but that is not my sort of car at all. Pete and Dan our tour guides have chosen BMW M235is as their tour cars. It is not hard to see why - they are right at the efficient frontier in terms of bang for your buck and a very appealing all round package. The performance figures are ballistic given the combination of powerful and torquey power plants and light weight. They are RWD with a short wheel base so handle like a dream. The only weak point that I can see is the brakes, as is often the case with BMs. I had a quick drive of one on tour and it felt very quick. The only trouble with them however (aside from not being Jap!) is that they are butt ugly to my eye! Part of the tour experience for me is the car photography and I would not enjoy photographing one of those one bit! What do you guys think? What about an Exige S V6. Be a heck of a car on the sorts of trips you seem to enjoy doing. http://www.evo.co.uk/lotus/exige/7363/lotus-exige-s-review-price-and-specs
  17. I have no idea who this person is but if he really did swerve to avoid a cat I like him
  18. Yeah but was it a case of "I'm keeping the tools" or did you just leave the tools? If you ask for the tools will she give them back etc? I'm gonna stick my neck out here and probably incur the displeasure of some of the more blokey blokes by saying that a) I think you're probably being paranoid and b ) anger is an incredibly pointless emotion in these sorts of circumstances. She doesn't want to be with you and being angry will just make you feel worse. We've all been dumped. It stings for a bit and then you move on. Just try and let it go. If you want your tools, ask for them. Sorry if that sounds unsympathetic but I think it needs to be said
  19. Only just caught up with this thread. Looks very nice. I've noticed someone down our way has bought an R in black. That also looks very good.
  20. Few years ago we invested in one of these. Haven't been bothered since.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stop-Cold-Calling-Door-Sticker/dp/B01H2SIHO8
  21. Perhaps it depends on the individual set up but I don't find that HFCs make the car overly loud unless I want it to be - normal driving is absolutely fine unless you drop a grear and give the pedal a good prod. Then it does howl. The one really major difference I notice is cold start when I do cringe a bit at the volume.
