  1. Another piece of the childhood jigsaw gone.
  2. Quite a lot of stuff in the media today about his charity work. Seems like he did a lot but kept it quiter than some celebs.
  3. Don't forget though - Gorman redeemed himself at the end.
  4. Surely, lower case 's' and 'c' for sports centre?
  5. You gave me a thumbs up but I was too slow to react. Soz!
  6. Ooh now I'm proper excited. Sadly I've reached the age where irritation at being in a room full of people who won't shut the fudge up while the film is on outweighs the enjoyment I get from the film itself. I will be buying the Blu Ray as soon as it hits the shelves though. Lights off, surround sound cranked up!
  7. That's odd. I've been using a cover for about three years in a road with plenty of feline residents, but never once had this problem. I have woken up a few times to paw prints on the cover (which wipe off easily) but they've never scratched it. It's pretty normal cat behaviour though - our two have wrecked the side of our sofa.
  8. I'm on my third 370 now - first was a GT Ultimate (2009) (No mods), second was a 40th Anniversary Edition (2010) (Aftermarket CBE) and now the current Nismo (Mods listed below). I don't get to drive as much as I'd like but I reckon I've covered about 30,000 miles without encountering a significant problem. The one issue common to all three cars has been the slightly irritating boot spring problem. Having been hanging around this forum for a good few years, my impression is that they're generally very reliable cars.
  9. I'm one of the few people on this forum who've owned the Nismo and non Nismo variants of the 370. There's very little difference in ride quality and the handling of the Nismo is on another level. I wonder if your bad experience was caused by the shipping spacers being left in the front springs of the Nismo. It's quite a common issue and seriously affects ride quality.
  10. Sounds to me like the best solution for you could be one of less noisy exhausts - Stillen or Invidia for example - with HFCs if you want a good bit of noise on demand. Aside from cold starts, I can happily cruise along without attracting attention to the noise, but drop a gear and prod the pedal and it's a whole different story.
  11. You quickly get used to it and the fun factor more than cancels out the downsides.

    Car cover

Agreed. The Halfords covers are good value for money.
  13. I've been trying to get some shots of a UHD Blu Ray to share but it's not easy to convey how good they look. Few shots from The Revenant.
  14. I used to think those things in the headlight casing were DRLs too - but nope.
  15. Re the original post - I wouldn't agree that an aftermarket CBE and HFCs are too loud. Mine is certainly loud on cold start but once it settles down it's fine and the same goes for normal driving - perfectly civilised if you drive normally, but plenty of volume available if you want it.
  16. Samsung. This is a BBC HD image on mine: I'd recommend upping the budget a bit and getting an HDR capable panel (not all UHD TVs are HDR capable). I've been mostly underwhelmed by the difference between UHD and HD, but if you see a UHD HDR picture in action (HDR Blu Ray players are starting to become available now and some streaming services are starting to offer programmes in HDR) the quality is stunning.
  17. This is why it's a good idea to scour the forum regularly and hoover up every bit of available information about your car. There have been a few threads about the shipping spacers issue already.
  18. Sorry to hear about this. It cost me around £350 to get my bumper re-sprayed by a very good local body shop. They weren't the cheapest but they did a fantastic job - it was better than the factory finish.
  19. Bit alarming for such a new car!
  20. I enjoy watching classic matches online - Hagler v Hearns - THAT was a fight.
  21. Great post. Enjoy your new family member.
  22. I prefer a cleaner looking front end, but the newer Nismo's front end seems to reflect the general direction of travel in car styling since the 370 was released in 2009. Lotus have done something similar if you compare an older Evora to the 400.
