  1. What's the point in them replying if they've looked at your profile and decided you're not their type? It's just the quickest most efficient way of weeding you out from guys they might want to get to know. Don't forget there will be guys doing exactly the same thing.
  2. We've just today had to agree to a £2.5k reduction on the selling price for Jane's flat to get her buyer to commit to exchange on Friday. This is on the basis of work apparently flagged in a survey they had done three weeks ago. Funny how they left it to the last minute to mention it. I know some people people would say tell them to get lost, but we've waited a long time to get to this stage. We've made clear that we'll walk if there are any further delays or demands. The whole process has put years on me. I can't wait to be done with it.
  3. I've always got the impression from reading various owner reviews that CAIs make negligible difference sound wise on the 370. I'm not sure you'd hear much if any difference by adding intakes.
  4. Thanks for all the positive comments. Makes me happy I took the risk (and saved a packet in the process).
  5. One thing I will say is that you definitely can be friends with an ex but experience has taught me that you need to leave a long enough gap for you both to have no romantic feelings left for each other. I'm good friends now with the girl I mentioned earlier in this thread, but it's ten years down the line and our lives have moved on. Trying to be friends when one of you still has feelings is practically impossible.
  6. Thanks. Sadly the chump (whoever he or she was) didn't hang around or leave a note. Really looking forward to off street parking!!!
  7. Another vote for walk away. I've been in a similar situation. Despite being the resident child disliker on here, I was actually very fond of an ex's kids and missed them greatly when we split. You've got to think of yourself in these situations and look to the long term. Brutal truth is the kids will get over it pretty quickly, but continuing contact when you still have feelings for her will only prolong your misery.
  8. I have much love for the Mk1 styling but 1200 squids for a bumper....
  9. Some chump buckled my rear bumper recently (car has been outside with no incidents for three years and we're just weeks away from moving to a place with off street parking). Anyway, damange didn't look bad at all but when the bumper came off for repair there was a lot of cracking on the inside. Advice was to play it safe and get a new bumper. Nissan quote for a Nismo Mk1 bumper £1,200 + VAT (and a long wait). For a Mk2 - £365 + VAT and shipping in a few days. It seemed like a no brainer to go for the MK2 but I was a bit unsure how it would look on the Mk1, especially the side profile. End result = very happy. I know Mk1 purists might not like it, but I love the way it looks with the Mk1 spoiler. (I decided not to go for the red stripe as there is no red on the Mk1 side skirts). I'd definitely recommend the body shop (Andy's Autobarn in Ashford, Middx) to anyone who needs body work done in SW London, Middlesex etc. They're not the cheapest and I had to wait a few weeks before they could book me in but their work is excellent - real perfectionists who do a lot classic car restorations. Some pics...
  10. Sounds great, especially the drive by.
  11. I've been surprised by how inflexible some sellers are, even when their property has been on the market for months on end.
  12. We're going through the selling and buying process. Three estate agents told Jane to market her flat in New Malden at £450k. Even I could tell that compared to other similar properties in the area the valuation was too high. Unsurprisingly, there was very little interest, even though we'd spent time and money making it look immaculate. Within a week of her taking the initiative to drop the price by £25k it was under offer. I'd offer what you think it's worth and explain your reasons. If the house really is overpriced it's not likely to sell and they will probably end up dropping the price anyway, so bide your time. We've spent months looking at properties in rural Kent and East Sussex. I've seen nice houses sit on the market for months and in some cases the prices have been reduced by as much as £75k. It can pay to be patient while sellers wise up to the fact their house has been overvalued. Case in point- we offered on a house that was on for offers over £625k. We ended up making a final offer of £590k. The seller wouldn't budge on price so we walked away. Four months on and the house is still sitting on the market at a significanly reduced price.
  13. Nice shots. That does indeed look a lot like the Nismo wheel.
  14. Will the Art Pipes be an issue at MOT when the time comes? The FI exhaust was all the rage on this forum a few years ago, but I do recall some people complaining about too much drone. I personally like the combo of a fairly subtle exhaust like the Stillen paired with HFCs. You get the best of both worlds - civilised when you want it to be, but capable of sounding raucous when you feel like it.

    370Z Nismo

Nice. The Mk2 Nismo looks very good in black. It's begging for colour coded door handles though......The silver ones really stand out against the black (and not in a good way!).
  16. No need to be a stranger. Stick around.
  17. Yes, I think the Grip would be a good choice - the tips look suitably hefty and it's a nicely made exhaust by all accounts.
  18. You need an exhaust with fairly sizeable tips for either version of the Nismo. It also needs to protrude a decent way to avoid looking like it's set too far back.
  19. Serious question - is there a risk that shape of spoiler will interfere with the car's aerodynamics. Very impressed by your willingness to do it yourself by the way. Making your own spoiler is pretty impressive!
  20. What a shame. Some dealerships are so hopeless it's ridiculous. They don't deserve your business.
  21. When you hear the disappointing exhaust just imagine how much better it will sound with a decent aftermarket system.
  22. This is a great thread. The look that really sends shivers down my spine at the moment is - a bloke in a pair of really tight jeans, which are a bit too short, no socks and slip on shoes. Not only does it look grotesque, it must be incredibly uncomfortable.
