  1. Say hello to Abid and G from me (tell them Chris with the first one), they'll look after you Will do!
  2. Thanks for this - helps to convince me further that I've made the right choice! I am picking up new our Black Edition from WLMG in Slough tomorrow . I have booked the car in to have the Stillen fitted on the 12th (All things going to plan with the car collection, I'll be ordering from Tarmac tomorrow for delivery next week) I chose TGM in Fleet for the fitting on Ebized's recommendation. So all in all this just goes to show how great and useful this forum is!!! I know we don't seem to have a whole heap of visitors right now, but the help and advice I've had has been priceless! I'll post pics of the car with the Stillen on as soon as it's all sorted.
  3. Definitely! Felt like a good time for a change to a new one. I've been really happy with my white Z (still think it's one of the best colours) but the panel issue on mine was going to cost to sort out and new tyres were probably on the horizon as well. I've always had a thing for the black edition, but they usually have more miles on the clock than I would like and I prefer the Quartz, so this seemed a bit too good a chance to pass up. We got what felt like a reasonable amount part exchange too. I spent quite a bit of time lusting over the new GTRs - they also great in black and in white. Welcome to the clan what number is it? Thanks. I forgot the number - D'oh! Looks like we are all go to pick up on Thursday, so I'll add my number to the list in the dedicated thread soon.

  5. +1 Thanks! Quite a lot's happened since I asked........picking up the new Z (Black Edition in Quartz) on Thursday. Only 6.5K on the clock and in immaculate condition. Will definitely be getting the Stillen exhaust that I was planning for the current Z asap. I'll post some pictures soon.
  6. Anyone know if all Black Editions come with the Connect Premium Sat Nav? Thanks
  7. Ours mostly drinks 97 from the local Texaco. Am I right in thinking this isn't doing the engine any harm?
  8. No - as Chris ^ says. When I was in a Nissan showroom a few weeks back and raised the issue the service manager pointed out several other Nissan models (and other makes they had in) in a variety of colours where the variations occur. But from what I and others who saw a number of the first batch of 370's in 2009 the white ones semed to be more noticeable. Saw a photo of a grey Nismo on the web the other day - rear bumper match was terrible. Also one of the early review photos (can't remember which publication) had photos of a red one - very poor match on the front!
  9. Think I'm going to just go for the exhaust to begin with and maybe consider other changes down the line. After a lot of research I'm fairly sure it will be Stillen. Hope to order from Tarmac and get it fitted by a place recommended by Colin in Fleet. Just got to decide whether to bite the financial bullet before or just after Christmas. Heart says before, head says after!
  10. Just pot luck I think. My front and sills are fine and in some lights the back looks perfectly ok - just looks off in low light. Unfortunately I'm the sort of person that once I notice something like this it will bug me til it gets sorted I keep being told it will never look perfect but I'm sure it could be better. Off to the body shop to get it looked at tomorrow morning.
  11. Likewise! To me as it's my first car it's a beast already - I'm modding for the sound, not extra power!
  12. This is really why I've decided to hang on to my 09 when the finance agreement comes to an end in about 18 months. We could hand it back and get another but unless something major changes in that time I don't think it's worth it. White is still my fave colour anyway so I'm just gonna spend some pennies on a decent exhaust and keep the car until a major upgrade comes along
  13. Care to elighten a total noob to mods about what High Flow Cats do, what they will add to a set up, and likely cost...(I am learning more and more every day )
  14. I know the Evolution is meant to be a great system but the prices I've been quoted for it are more than I really want to pay.
  15. See, thats the difference that would sell it for me. Burnt cut-away tips Invidia stuff has pretty solid reliability so you won't go wrong Thanks - that's good to know - I was wondering if cheaper cost meant poorer quality but there are some good detailed reviews on US sites and they seem to be well regarded systems.
  16. Thanks for the replies guys! Can't wait to get it done. Invidia might just shade it due to the significant price difference (not having the blue tips though - don't like em!). I will let you know once it's been done and try and post pics / vid
  17. Cheers Colin - if you don't mind me asking - how much did you pay for fitting?
  18. Hi all I am definitely looking to upgrade my 370Z exhaust soon - probably just after Christmas. I have done a lot of research on the internet and had some great advice from Tarmac. I was leaning towards Akrapovic but they do seem expensive. Tarmac has suggested Stillen or Invidia Gemini. I know a few of you have Stillen but not sure about Invidia? The attraction with Invidia is that it's not as expensive so I could probably get the work done sooner, but I don't want to sacrifice quality. I'm told that neither system is too in your face under normal driving conditions. That's really important for me - I want a sports car sound but not a chavy "boom" that will upset the girlfriend, the neighbours and make me look an idiot I'd love to hear your views / suggestions. Also if anyone can recommend a good place to get it fitted in the London / Surrey / Middlesex area that would be even better! Cheers all
  19. There are plenty of Zs on Autotrader for £25K with fairly low mileage in a range of colours. I've never seen a blue one in the flesh. I reckon it might be one of those colours that you wouldn't think of at first as being great but probably looks pretty sweet in the flesh!

    Zed Shed

Wish I had a Zed Shed! I think Twickenham is the loft conversation capital of the UK. Doesn't seem to be week goes by that I don't look out the window and see the car flanked by skips, battered white vans or a lorry delivering a precariously balanced pile of scaffolding poles!
  21. See now this I have never understood. If the primer is different then why cant they compensate the paint make up to make it match? I heard it was due to them being sprayed in isolation and the way the flecks sit in the paint. On the main body the car is sprayed from one angle and on the bumpers/sills a different angle. When you put them together they reflect the light differently which gives different shades. This makes more sense to me For the kind of money we pay for our Zs I don't think a good match is too much to ask! I look at other white cars and I don't see this problem. If end up getting mine done (probably after Christmas) I'll post some pics.
  22. I think I'd just be happy with a slightly better match at the back.
  23. She'll say anything to get a new handbag You lot know her too well My other half hates the whole idea of replacing the exhaust! Is the Stillen meant to be tamer than the Akroppvic - I thought it was louder than the Akro...? The answer is to hear it in the flesh. More than happy to meet up so you and your misses can see what it is like - next weekend? If interested send me a pm Thanks for that Colin - I'm a few months away from getting it done (got to get money-sucking Christmas out of the way first) but I'll defo take up your offer when it's time to make a final decision!
  24. What ya having done Colin? The sills - I'm sure you will see their shape before the rear wheel arch means they are prone to stone chips. So some remedial spray work and then put in condoms, whilst hoping that the colour match is better than what the factory turned out. I gather the colour match problem arises from the the bumpers and sills being sprayed in a separate area to the rest of the car. I can live with the colour changes on my bumpers though - and as it was pointed out to me at Motorline, many Nissan models have this issue and whether we like it not is unlikley to result in a succeesfull warranty claim. Waits to be proved wrong I see what you mean - my sills are a pretty good match and the front is ok - just the rear. Please post some pictures of yours once the work has been done - I'd really be interested to see if they improve the colour match
