I just wish the setting could be changed so for default it was switched 'off' and manually overidden for 'on' Rather like the annoying sat nav welcome screen that requires you press "accept" every time to access the map - not as though you have to put a code in so quite why that is there Second that! "Accept" = Annoying

I'm not keen on the look of a lot of 'super cars' but I think the R8 is a really nice looking car - looks cool without being too flashy.

Corrected that for you To me its not even a choice, you have to get it done to give the car the voice it deserves. I know a lot of people think it will make it chavvy and loud, but stock its just so quiet. It just makes it a nice level, quiet when cruising and around town at low revs and a nice bit of bark when giving it beans Thanks Chris The only criticism, and this is just purely a personal choice, is the tips, too shiney for me, but hey, it's all about the sound, now the second thing that is a MUST, HFC's I love the shiney tips How much difference to sound and performance do the HFCs make? You are on the rocky road now You would get more of both, but would need an uprev to maximise the performance - by how much on a 370 I can't answer. Rocky and expensive!

My other half was dead against it because she was worried that it would sound chavvy and booming and to be honest I was worried about it a bit as well (I don't think some of the vids on You Tube help) She's back from a work trip to New York tomorrow - looking forward to showing her how far from chavvy and booming the sound is. I wonder if they will make the next Z sound better and save us all the expense!

Cheers Rog Your post a while back helped me to make the decision to go ahead with it. Very glad I did!

Great thread. Some of ours.... We inherited the cats from the previous occupants of the house and the rabs are from a local rescue center

Didn't realise I could do that - does that mean the 6KB limit doesn't apply - just the 100 x 100 size specification?
-
Cheers all! I'll give it a go!

Been trying to update mine with a photo of the new car but I have to shrink it so small to get within the 6KB limit that it's virtually invisible. How do you folks manage to get decent size pictures down to 6KB. (I have tried saving as PNG and JPEG images and shrinking them down using Photoshop).

I can bore for England on this subject!

Thanks I will think about that once my bank balance has recovered!

Finally had it fitted on Saturday. I know there are people on here who are trying to decide whether to mod their exhausts which one to go for etc so I just thought I'd give some brief first impressions. Ordering / delivery Thanks to Tarmac for a first class service - ordered and delivered by DHL Express direct from Stillen within exactly one week. Can't really ask for better than that. So my advice if you are considering a supplier: Fitting I contacted TGM Sports Racing in Fleet http://www.tgmsport.co.uk/ on the recommendation of Colin (Ebized) and took the exhaust to them in the back of the car (it fits in the boot in pieces but you have to be careful not to scratch the interior with all those sharp edges - wrap in towels was my solution). The fitting took just over an hour and was very reasonable. I was impressed by how much effort they put into making sure the exhaust was perfectly aligned so that the tips sat exactly as they should (they were offset slightly to the left to begin with). Sound I love it! I was worried about getting something that was going to be too loud or in your face but the Stillen just adds that throaty growl without being over the top. It sounds great on start-up and when accelerating but it does not make an intrusive noise when just driving along under normal conditions. It's pretty much everything I was after in this department. Looks Pics below. I prefer the look to the stock exhaust - it's a bit more aggressive looking to me but the tips don't protrude too far. Judge for yourself On the whole I couldn't be happier with the decision to do this mod. It felt like a big deal for me because I'm not very knowledable about the technical side of things and I am not the sort of person who wants to make a big statement with my car, but as soon it was on and running I was glad I'd done it! Hope this helps anyone still undecided about whether to go for an exhaust mod.

I have one of these - looks quite good on the car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-370Z-Richbrook-Twist-Open-Tax-Disc-Holder-/320687085840?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item4aaa709910

We switched to Admiral from Aviva because they wouldn't even insure the car despite the fact that we live in a low crime area where there a plenty of pricier cars around and my better half has been driving for 20+ years withou a claim If it helps, Admiral did not require us to fit a tracker.

Hoping to take delivery of my Stillen today or tomorrow. Just a personal opinion (and I know videos aren't the best way to decide) I think the GTHAUS sounds a bit too in yer face and shouty. I'm not keen on the tone. Thanks. Delivery fella just dropped it off. Fitting Saturday. Pics and first impressions to follow!!! You'll now see why I said the box won't fit in the car Too right! It was blinkin' massive!

Just a note, a guy I know is a car paint specialist, he particularly specialises in Japanese performance cars, he told me that the body of the car and the plastic bumpers are sprayed in different factories on virtually ALL new cars, and if you look in bright light you can almost always see the miss match. Just thought I would let you know that so you know why you got that, to put it right the bumber would need re-spraying and cutting/grading into the main bodywork Thanks - I've heard various explanations for the mismatch. I accept that it appears on most cars to one extent or another, but it can be particularly visible on some of the white 370s. (I was told by a Nissan approved bodyshop that quite a few white GTRs have had their bumpers reresprayed under warranty due to this problem recently). The panel match on our new Black Edition is very good, so I'm not stressing over it any more (Just for interest - it showed much more in dull light on our car - it was much less visible in good light)
-
On our previous 370Z the dealer went from being very helpful pre-sale to very disinterested in helping post sale. I asked about getting the sat nav software updated and about the possibility of a panel repaint on what I thought was quite a bad mismatch between the rear bumper and the body of the car. The reaction to both can best be described a shrug of the shoulders / "not our problem" (the car was still under warranty) Good to hear the some people have a better experience.

feather board still to go down that side - but yep, point taken re bottom of fence and posts Loving the cat! We have two and five rescue rabbits (no jokes about pie please!)
-
I'll always have a soft spot for the white 370s - they look awesome (although I won't miss fretting about the panel match on my rear bumper !) Mine has been listed for sale already. No picture yet though. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201144425687812/sort/priceasc/model/370_z/make/nissan/page/1/radius/20/postcode/tw14na/advert-type/featured-listing/dealer/6843/usedcars?logcode=flp

119 Quartz Not had much chance to drive him yet but very happy so far. Connect Premium and the new audio features seem pretty cool and I'm loving the wheels and red trim. Would have liked to post better pictures but the weather's been rubbish. Will post some more pics and impressions once the new Stillen is on - hopefully by next Saturday.
