1. I've seen a lot of references to spacers - I've got an idea of what they are but not really sure what benefits they bring.....?

If I decided to get some can anyone recommend a good set for the 370?

  2. Met with Wiill yesterday at TGM - both 370s up on the ramps alongside each other and Tom was able to verify the maufacturing issue that led to the problems when fitting the BERKs/Stillen HFC's - see here.

(The first page shows some of the changes in manufacture that are not at issue and Will has decided to leave the bandage that Darren-B added on as a precaution in case the pipe hits the brace as the seperation is minimal)

Have to add that I have had absolutely no problems with the Stillen on mine since it was fitted in January 2010 and have been 100% happy with it

Another big thumbs-up to Tom making space to get the problem checked out and hope you back gets better soon :#1:

Yep. I've also been very happy with the Stillen. I did have a vibration issue briefly but it was nothing to do with fitment - just a particular quirk of my Z, which was sorted quite easily. Tom at TGM pointed out that he thought it was a solid and well made exhaust. If you look at enough posts in US forums it becomes apparent that there are occasional examples of people having "issues" with pretty much every make of exhaust. I think we hear more about them on the Stillen because it's one of the biggest sellers.

  3. I've got quite into the detailing lark. Got a cupboard full of goodies including some Dodojuice Supernatural Wax, which I'd highly recommend. Working in an office all week, it's nice to be out in the fresh air. I often get passers by coming to talk to me about the car. Trouble is that with the Z living outside in the road it only takes a few hours for the grime to start building up again. :headhurt:

(Meguirs Quick Detailer is pretty good for a quick spruce up between washes.)

  4. What's with that quote..............

I am thrilled to receive my super 370Z GT Roadster and cannot wait to get behind the wheel. I am a huge motoring enthusiast and I loved the model from the moment I first drove itâ€.

He sounds like a BBC announcer from the 1950s.

  5. When we used to stay in the big house out in the country a few years ago we would get mice now and again coming in, I always put out the humane trap with some chocolate in it and would catch one everytime.

Can remember sitting watching the TV and one climbed up the wicker bin and was walking round the top of it to get onto a small table to reach a box of malteasers, I think they look too cute to kill them and you have to love their adaptability.

I started letting them out the traps miles away in case it was the same one coming back in all the time

I did ponder with the idea of buying a big cage and keeping everyone I caught to see how many I could get....

Nice to see I'm not the only one on here who doesn't immediately think "kill".

  6. Having clipped an alloy last week and getting an 'ok' repair I called the local hpc for a quote on a new alloy. They didn't know and called Nissan who said £1441 for one!

Maybe I'm naive but that just seems ridiculous.

My scuff is tiny and it was only my OCD that made me think about calling for a new one but at that price there's no chance in hell I'd buy one.

Against all the odds I've managed 6 months without kerbing my current Z's alloys, but I did it quite a bit in the last one. I used several mobile refurbishers. They ranged from quite cheap (£50) per wheel (and pretty awful) to more expensive but quite good (Wicked Wheels). Last time I had one done by Wicked Wheels it was £100, but they did a good job.

  7. Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but having noticed how badly my sills are getting "stoned" I'm quite interested in a set of these. Most of the sites selling them don't seem to offer the option to choose a colour though, which is quite confusing.....would I have to get them painted?

And are they easy to fit?

    Thanks

  8. Thanks sipar, that confirms my thoughts. Looks like we have the new design.

Once tom has sorted my problem i'll post up a new thread so others dont have the hassles ive had. Thank god i went via Tarmac who has been ace at contacting the various suppliers, providing constant communication and helping sort the problem :#1:

I will definitely be up for reading that Will. I'm keen on the Berks after hearing your video. I'll need to think again if there's a potential issue with the combo.

  9. Think we need to wait for Tom at TGM to work his magic and find out what the issue is with Rosie because a lot of people in the states seem to have the Stillen / Berks combo with no issues. Could it be an issue that for some reason just happens with the Roadster?

    Will

I got my Stillen from Tarmac in December. I also don't have those holes. Don't think it's an issue tbh :)

  10. Well, this car has appently been sold.

However, i wouldnt put it past them to have not sold but they didnt want to see to me. Mainly because i dont 'fit the bill' of a 370z driver.

The guys there were a bunch of pricks. And really annoyed me with a grilling of how much i earnt.

I wouldnt have bought from them but as they have the only black edition in the NMGB. Properly devestasted about it tbh.

Well if they havent sold it they have lost a sale. Coz i would have had it this weekend.

Shame you had such a bad experience. When we traded in our previous 370 for our current one I was really surprised that the dealer didn't even ask about earnings - perhaps because we'd financed one previously. Having spoken to one dealer, I think the problem with some places is that they get a lot of people who just want a test drive with no intention of buying, which can make then overly cautious. I guess the way to look at it is if they were rude to you they didn't deserve your custom!

  11. Errrr it was worse for the animals that it was for your cars!

I don't mind admitting that I've twice stopped my Z (when it was safe to do so) on rural roads to shepherd young rabbits out of the road in the hope that they don't get run over by other drivers.

I reckon animals get a seriously bad deal from us humans, so I like to do my bit for them when I can. :console:

NOTE: I AM NOT AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST OR SANDAL WEARING HIPPIE

  12. I was at TGM on Wednesday 4th and saw the owner of the mystery 370z I think, it was having suspension work of some sort, I seem to remember a spring might have snapped but I may be wrong. I was in custard (the new car).

TGM seem to be legends in the Honda world and it looks like their rep is growing amongst Z owners. It goes to show that first appearances can be deceptive - their premises is not as flashy as some, but their work is first rate.
