  1. Really sorry to hear that. All the best getting the Z back. And hopefully the scumbags who took it get caught
  2. Saw a GTR parked up in central London today; also had a cheeky sit in a brand new one when we were picking up the 370 last year. The sensible side of my head tells me I shouldn't like em for being so big and not exactly pretty. But for some reason I just love em! Unfortunately, while I reckon I could stretch to owning one, I doubt I could afford to run it
  3. Don't worry Will; my neighbours think I'm mad as well for spending so much time cleaning the Z. Usual routine is....wait for clear day...........clean for several hours..........wait a few minutes....cloud....rain....dirty car again! I like being out in the road though - usually get a few people coming to chat about the car
  4. I don't get that. As there is no way you would have needed new pads with that mileage (and I hope you were not charged for any), so it should have been a simple visual check as part of the 'service'. So quite why it started happening after the 'service' is baffling. I see Wessex are a HPC dealer which is somewhat alarming when they then want to charge you £150 to cure a brake noise that from your description is certainly "not characteristic" - a term you might like to use in further discussions. I would take it to another dealer - hopefully that is what Nissan will say. I agree - that's shockingly bad service and you shouldn't accept it
  5. TGM Jim +1 Will' Gannon at TGM runs the bodyshop. He's done work for me twice - a bumper scuff and a scratch on the door caused by opening it on a lamp post = totally invisible repair on both occasions.
  6. Purely personal opinion and no offence meant to those who do otherwise, but I say leave it as it is. It's a Nissan. Nothing wrong with that. PS I am thinking of getting some sensors for the rear - be great if you could post some pics once it's done
  7. I know the feeling. I once spent nearly a whole day travelling back and forth on the train to Slough when, having dropped the car off with the refurb guys and taken two trains home, I got a call to tell me that they couldn't get the locking nut off (Dealer had lost the one that came with car so gave us their crappy master copy, which turned out to be so damaged it didn't work!). Had to beg one from a local Nissan garage and train it all the way back to the wheel refurbs and then back home again
  8. This makes want a GTR! (exhaust sounds great by the way!)
  9. I've had a quick hunt around to see if I can find one of these for sale in the UK, but no joy - looks like importing is the only option. I'm thinking it would look good with the red interior of the Black Edition

    Which One

Really nice congrats! (Don't curb those wheels - they're a bugger to refurb!)
  11. Mark - be great if you could post a vid of the new exhaust system when you have one - think a lot of us would like to hear how it sounds!
  12. If it really ends up looking like that, I won't be buying one

    Which One

True - they do come up for sale relatively regularly - saw the one I fell in love with after a few weeks of looking

    Which One

Never driven an auto (in my whole two years of driving) and the Black Edition's dark wheels and red interior are v smart, but if the auto means I wouldn't be able to hear that lovely growl from the rev match when you drop a few gears (different exhaust helps!), then I'd actually go for the manual. You could always replicate the look of dark wheels easily enough if you like it; then the only cosmetic difference would be the interior.
  15. I'm not one for gyms either but I did buy a decent running machine recently, as I was getting a bit of a belly and the old man boobs were just starting to show. Been doing just half an hour a day six days a week for about 3 months now - made a big difference to how I look and feel.
  16. You'll feel better about those lovely wheels in the meantime My track record suggests that I'll be back to the guys who did mine sooner or later (kept the paint code just in case!)
  17. Perfect excuse for that wheel refurb then
  18. If you like cats, you might like this! There are three vids in total. This is the second (and best I think). Henri is a massive hit on the internet (and also happens to be a dead ringer for one of our cats!) Enjoy....
  19. did you have a paint job or powder coat ? - I'm still trying to decide Paint (The guys who did mine didn't offer powder coat). I believe powder coat is supposed to be more durable, but I think a decent paint job should also be durable. Mine were done fairly recently, so it's a bit early to make a judgement, but they look as good as new so far!
  20. Same applies to the Black Edition. After problematic refurbs I had all mine redone a while ago in a colour that would be easier to match if I curb em and still very happy with the result.
  21. It comes with what they call a scratch stick, which is basically a crayon. But I wouldn't recommend using it - it's pants! The useful stuff is the polish itself which contains a black pigment that is quite effective at masking minor scratches by filling them with colour. I use Black Hole a lot and it does make the car look good, but although one of its selling points is supposed to be hiding swirls etc its not really up to disguising scratches. You can tell the difference between the two if you use them with a cloth - Colour Magic will properly dye it while Black Hole will wash out easily.
  22. I wouldn't expect much from Black Hole Glaze if you trying to mask even light scratches. It's not designed for that and I had very little success with it when I was trying to hide some very light bumper marks prior to getting them properly sorted. You would be better off with Turtle Wax Colour Magic. I know some people are a bit snooty about their products, but Colour magic is quite effective at filling minor scratches until you can get them done properly.

    370Z Exhausts?

Much as I love my Stillen all this talk of exhausts is giving me the urge to get another one! Must be sensible! Must be sensible! Wonder if there any issues on our roads with the Fast Intentions hanging quite low at the back?
  24. Great - you must be very relieved! I was distraught when I got a tiny bumper scrape until I got it sorted back good as new, so you must have been really Glad it all went well in the end
  25. I have no problem in admitting that my better half is probably a safer and better driver than me. She's been driving for 20 years. I've been driving for less than 2 (didn't get around to learning until I was 40). What I have noticed though is that since I like to drive the 370 a lot and take every opportunity to, she is now much less confident than when we first bought one and she had to do all the driving while I took my lessons. I love my Z but it's just a lump of metal at the end of the day and I wouldn't dream of telling her she couldn't drive it even though I pay for it, clean it etc etc.
