  1. Mine is now on order:) Brian is very helpful with queries and dispatched the kit within 24 hours. Just hope it doesn't get held up for too long in customs.......
  2. Ah I see you already thought of that.......
  3. Lots of great work on your car but one extra mini mod (not really a mod) that it struck me you could consider is to get rid of the nasty standard tax disk holder and replace it with something like this. I have one of these and they do make a difference when you look at the car from the front....... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richbrook-twist-off-machined-aluminium-available/dp/B0099LC220
  4. I hope they do give the sat nav as an option. Otherwise I'd be lost if I got one, figuratively and literally
  5. I don't really know why but cruelty to animals angers and saddens me more than anything else I can think of.
  6. As the resident animal nut that was soooo good!
  7. There's definitely a difference although I don't think I've had chance to properly test it out yet. Apparently the car gained another 10 or so bhp on top of the gains from the Stillen and good gains on torque (I also had some HKS drop in filters fitted). I've only tried the third of the five maps Mark installed and the car feels noticeably more lively and responsive - seems to need less throttle to 'go'. Will be trying out the other maps as soon as I get chance. Enjoyed the visit to Abbey - great bunch of guys.
  8. Thanks to Mark I had the opportunity to get a close look at the Milltek fitted to a 370 when I visited Abbey for my uprev yesterday. I didn't hear it in action (car was up in the air) but it looked like a really nice quality system.
  9. No deal that involves someone taking your car and not giving you the money there and then is worth the risk!
  10. Correct - (although i dont think the sill guards were standard) my previous 370 was the GT Ultimate spec. The interior trim and seats were a sort of orange/tan colour. Looked quite nice with the white car. You got the pre-Connect Premium version of the sat nav though, as the GT ultimate was a 2009 spec. Apart from the interior trim, i think it was the same as the 2009 GT spec cars.
  11. I don't have (or want) kids but if somebody seriously harmed my loved ones (including our pets) I'd probably quite happily do them in and worry about the consequences later! Objectively though, there's no proof that the death penalty deters serious criminality and some would argue that one innocent death due to crap defence lawyers, police corruption etc (there have been a lot more in the USA) is too many. Another problem is that in countries which have the death penalty it tends to be the most vulnerable people in society who are disproportionately affected by it. It seems like an obvious solution to horrible crimes, but the reality is a lot more complicated.
  12. I do indeed laugh when animals do funny stuff on TV etc but those clips are usually not of people catapulting animals around for fun. What concerns me about that particular clip is that an animal (be it a squirrel, cat, dog etc) is lured into a position where it could (not necessarily does, but could) get hurt, scared etc for entertainment purposes. It just doesn't sit well with me because I care about animals. And I'm happy to take all the criticism that comes my way (boring, wimp, hippie etc etc) for saying so.
  13. If you'd read my post properly you'd have seen that I was objecting to the squirrel clip, not the picture of the dog doing what dogs do. And if you equate being anti-cruelty with being "a boring old fart" then I doubt we'd ever see eye to eye, so best just leave it there.
  14. Don't be lame! The squirrel probably went back for more because it was having such an aswesome time! Not much can be said for the dogs little friend though I'm afraid. He's not being lame. The difference between dogs is they don't make choices about right and wrong - they follow their instincts. People can make choices not to be unkind to animals for entertainment. Yes the squirrel probably didn't suffer any lasting harm, but that's not really the point.
  15. Good luck with the project. As someone whose technical ability starts and ends with checking the oil level, I'm in awe!
  16. I know I'll get the miserable git of the day vote for this but I don't think being cruel to animals is funny. That's probably not the only "amusing" trick those jerks in the video have played on an animal.
  17. +1 Undoubtedly it is a long and hard road, it's worth trying to remember how steeped in tradition and religion places like Afghanistan are and therefore by "western world" standards they can be viewed as out of step with us. It is hard for countries to "grow up" and shake off long standing traditions and practices that others regard as unacceptable. I like to put it into perspective by remembering that it wasn't that long ago that females in this country were subjugated because it was believed that was correct. Add religion/beliefs into the mix and it will never be a quick fix. That's true but we need to be careful not to allow religion and tradition to be used as excuses for morally wrong acts (I'm not saying you are doing that). Having watched a story this morning about a girl who had her nose and ears cut off for running away from an abusive husband (and let's not forget the girl in Pakistan shot in the head for insisting on going to school) I couldn't care less about the traditional or cultural context of these acts - they are wrong in any country. And on the basis of the what I saw in the Panorama programme, to think that somebody in that girl's position, in a country where domestic violence and corruption is endemic, will very soon only have the Afghan police and army to turn to for help depresses me greatly. Whether it was right or not to be there in the first place, it seems mad to leave them in such an unprepared state to fend for themselves. It feels almost inevitable to me that within a few years of pulling out, the Taliban will be back in control.
  18. On my second 370 now and never regretted the choice - looked at various similarly priced alternatives when I first got one but the Z is so much car for the money and has that head-turner thing going for it
  19. So I take it from what Mark says there's not really any point in me making a detour from usual and easily accessible 97ron garage to the local Shell garage that does 98?
  20. If having a car that is a bit different and turns heads is a factor in your decision you can't go far wrong with the 370. They also look better in the flesh than in photos so I'd definitely suggest having a look at one in person. And as others have said, the cabin is a nice place to be.
  21. Little update, picked her up friday and shes as good as new, they matched the black rosie perfectly (had to get the paint in from nissan) and its a smashing job, no sign of the scratch. I'll admit it was not cheap but in line with what i expected and you get what you pay for. More importantly i totally trust tom and will with the car and will be using them again for any jobs i need doing. They really go the extra mile. Great news Will. I didn't find them the cheapest either but I wouldn't go anywhere else after seeing the quality of their work on my door scratch - absolutely flawless (same thing for my exhaust install). No point in scrimping on something like this. (Also another great example of how helpful this forum is - without it I'd never have known they existed!)
  22. Thanks for the replies guys - I'm talking to Mark about an uprev so will have a word about this with him.
