  1. Make friends with them
  2. I love that episode. Poor Pinchy Very true - there is a proven link between animal cruelty and people who move on to hurt and abuse humans (the 'baby P' case is an example). For the avoidance of doubt I don't mean the sorts of activity Rabbitstew refers to, I mean deliberate cruelty for fun.
  3. I think your point about the source of food is very valid - I try to avoid processed and factory farmed food as much as possible. I can't bring myself to eat rabbit though - I don't think the five rescue(d) bunnies we have would forgive me
  4. Watch Friends with Benefits, she looks stunning in that. She seems like a right laugh too I think I saw that. She also looks amazing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (I am glad my other half doesn't read this
  5. We would clearly never see eye to eye on this but I will agree that free range food would be preferable to some of those pies you review Farming is one issue, as is killing to eat; but killing pigeons (which were introduced here by people) (or anything else) for crapping on a car or because they are problem in a garden is just plain wrong in my view. I'm not some animal rights nut but it's a question of balance. Why is someone's garden or car more valuable that the lives of animals that have been around in one form or another for a hell of a lot longer than people? I happen to park under a lamp post a lot of the time outside our house. I've more than once spent a good five or six hours on the car only to have it crapped on (always seems to happen when you've just finished). I also work hard to keep our garden in good shape but again I wouldn't kill an animal just for eating seeds - it's just not important enough to make it worthwhile (especially since I very much doubt that regardless of how effective the weapon is it always ends up in a clean kill). By the way, I know this will not change your views but it's an interesting read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_pigeon
  6. Those of you bragging about killing animals simply because they crap on your precious cars or eat seeds out of gardens etc make me depressed. Just because you can kill something with your little pop guns doesn't mean you should. It's cruel and you should grow up.
  7. Hi, All of the Connect Premium sat nav systems already have the necessary software built in. You just have to add the camera and activate the software from the menu (Brian supplies all the info to properly calibrate the camera from the menu). He has developed a kit which enables the necessary connections to be plugged directly into the back of the head unit without the need to splice any wires etc. The wires are then routed down the centre console and through the boot (behind the trim) to the camera. It's a very neat solution - no visible wires and the camera itself is virtually invisible; not cheap, but worth it I reckon.
  8. Thanks for the replies; The camera is Kenwood CMOS 210. You can save some money if you just buy the harness from Brian and then buy the camera here but you apparently have to modify the bracket so I just went for the whole kit.
  9. Thought I’d post some pictures of a couple of recent mods – reversing camera and illuminated kick plates. The reversing camera is the one other members have installed - sourced from Brian in the US . Delivery took less than a week. https://sites.google...ompany.com/www/ The kick plates are an official Nissan product and were supplied by Steve (thanks!) I had the camera installed by some local fitters. It’s not a complicated job but I don’t have anywhere to work off-road. The install requires numerous parts of the boot’s interior to be removed and I didn’t fancy just dumping everything on the pavement or in the front garden. I installed the kick plates myself. This took me about four hours, but I was really taking my time and double-checking everything. There is a good write-up on one of the US forums with pictures, which helped me a lot. Impressions – I’m hugely happy with the camera; it’s already proved useful and the picture is really sharp (there is a small amount of glare in the pictures I took but that's just the reflection from the screen when taking the photo - not present in the flesh). I haven't tried it in the dark but others have said it works really well at night. I wasn’t blown away by the kick plates at first because the illumination was difficult to see in the sunlight. But when it got darker they looked great. Overall, I feel that both mods have enhanced the car. Next upgrade in a few months will be a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Happy to answer any questions about either mod.
  10. Just checked my VIN - seem to have scraped through by just a few digits!
  11. Fairly sure Abbey have done that on at least one car - be worth asking them.
  12. Not sure, but I don't think the Invidia is supposed to be significantly different sounding to the Stillen so I would imagine anyone who found the Stillen and Berks too loud might well feel likewise about the Invidia and Berks. I'm just going on what I've read and seen on videos though, which I know isn't a substitute for a proper listen.
  13. Agreed. The Quartz is a very nice colour and does have a lot of depth in the right light. Here is a link to the camera kit supplier. I am really happy with it. Write up to follow soon. https://sites.google.com/a/carkitcompany.com/www/
  14. I tried listening to music on my mp3 but I have to work on the car in the street. I quickly realised it was a bad idea - I couldn't hear cars coming
  15. Oh and in the longer term you might want to budget for a new exhaust to make the car sound like it should do
  16. That's right. The necessary software etc is built into the connect premium sat nav on our Black Editions, but they don't come with a camera fitted. As it happens, I'm sitting in the waiting room at my local fitters having the kit from Brian in the US installed right now (i got the full kit - camera and all the wires) - arrived in less than a week (had to pay £40 for the customs charges etc). Will post some thoughts and pictures once the install is done. If you find a Black Editon you like I'd say go for it. Very happy with mine (try and check out both colours - Quartz and Black - both look great).
  17. Simple. Assume that the vast majority of people you will meet or interact with on any given day are likely to be stupid idiots and then allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised when, from time to time, somebody turns out not to be.
  18. I sometimes wonder if I'm from another planet when I read some of the comments on here. Of course it matters. Quite apart from the fact that some of us would prefer not to eat animals we also have as pets, the basic point is that if something says it contains lamb, beef etc then that's what it should contain!
  19. If you're in Hampshire, you could try TGM in Fleet. I'm not certain if they do wheel refurbs but they have an excellent body shop, so probably do. . They may not be the cheapest outfit around but their work is first rate. Ask for Will Gannon. http://www.tgmsport.co.uk/services
  20. Never had a 350 but I reckon I've read just about every review of 370Z on the internet. Apart from the occasional reviewer who preferred the look of the 350, I can't remember a reviewer that didn't prefer the 370. I do agree though that the 350 sounds better, so be prepared to shell out for a decent exhaust
  21. We all make mistakes, but I think if you are trying to make a point in writing, be it a letter, email, or on a forum post, bad grammar and spelling somehow reduce the impact of what you are trying to get across.
