  1. I meant quieter in terms of road and tyre noise as the coupe tends to bounce the noise back into the cabin. The roadster has lots of extra insulation and the roof storage section to block that noise. If you mean exhaust wise then yes the Stock 370 is way to quiet as we all know, but easily fixed Exactly - I was referring to road noise rather than exhaust noise. I probably would avoid going for a soft top just because my car lives out in the open. I know I'll probably get a caning for it but I've started to think about the SLK 55 AMG as a future option. I like the look of em a lot and they have the advantage of being convertible hard top. Sound very nice too!
  2. Best of luck. Not worth staying in the job if you felt like your morals and dignity were being walked all over.
  3. I like the in yer face styling of the Nismo but I agree that for the price the performance hike is disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I love the 370z (that's why I'm on my second one) but I do think it has a few minor issues e.g very noisy in the cabin. Still love it to bits though. (I'm having new tyres put on Friday - MPSSs - so hoping for at least some improvement in road noise).
  4. Merely a badly written extension of their hatred for the 370Z in general. Yes the Z has some downsides, like any other car, but the totally one sided nature of the review means it lacks any credibility.
  5. You know what, there did seem like a difference today in the sunshine, but as soon as you changed the angle of stare, it went away, also, I think the way the body kit is shaped throws a lot of curves inward and outward that tricks the eye. I've decided it's a feature so it's a good thing , will get the boys on this Sunday's meet onto this for fresh opinion. I'm sorry if I planted a seed of doubt mate. I repeat that it's a gorgeous car and I know from my own experience (my first 370Z was a white one) that it only tends to be noticeable in certain lights. The rear bumper on mine was very poorly matched and it used to bug me a lot (it was more noticeable in poor light / dull conditions). It's been a known issue with some white 370Zs and GTRs, all apparently down to the way paint sits on plastic and metal (doesn't really explain why other companies seem to be able to create a decent match on white cars). If its not very noticeable and doesn't bother you - fair play. Either way, it's a lovely looking car by any measure and 99.9% of people would probably never even notice it.
  6. This is a great example of forum cooperation, although I think I've concluded that for me (weekend drives to country pubs etc - fairly low mileage etc etc) the bother of doing the install probably outweighs the benefits. Shame that after spending so much money on a fairly high end car we don't get access to free updates. Kudos to those of you who've successfully thwarted greedy Nissan
  7. Yup. It's very very flat grey. I can quite see it would be better in a different colour. There's another bloke down my road who worked for Porsche and used to drive an older style Cayman R in white which I thought looked very nice.
  8. I have some specs you can borrow if you want. Nismo does nothing for me' date=' but for some odd reason I find the Mini thing quite beguiling. I have no idea why, I know they're not selling at all well, but still I think the backwards baseball cap thing has grown on me. Much like the original 370 has, I guess. [/quote'] Might be because the car in question is a very flat and dull grey colour. I'm sure it would look better in a different colour.
  9. PS - Don't want to be negative (I think the car looks lovely and I'll be seriously considering one when it comes time to change) but it does look as though they're still not getting a great match between body and bumper on the white cars - do you notice a difference "in the flesh"?
  10. Very nice indeed. (One of my neighbours has the new style Cayman. Looks boring as heck compared to the standard Z let alone the Nismo.)
  11. Sorry to hear that. I did a trip to Devon recently - the Z isn't exactly ideal for some of the roads there (as I found when I came face to face with a bus on a very narrow lane!). Good luck with the sale.
  12. So could the ART pipes be fitted with the Stillen CBE to create a similar sound to HFCs but without the well known fitment issue that is a problem with Stillen + CBE combo?
  13. Oh dear. I know I'm going to sound like a terrible old fuddy duddy, but this kind of thing just does nothing for me. I'm not, repeat NOT, making a point about race here, but this kind of music is so far outside my cultural compass that I just can't relate to it. I don't understand the words and its all a bit too 'macho gangsta' for me.
  14. Finally some decent music in this thread, I actually met Black Francis in the toilet of the Dublin Castle Pub Why am I not surprised!!? Amen to that but real Rhythm and Blues, now that's a different story Dance music and jazz are the two genres that do nothing for me.
  15. Finally some decent music in this thread, I actually met Black Francis in the toilet of the Dublin Castle Pub Now I'm jealous. He is my opinion one of the coolest guys in music.
  16. Just a personal thing but I'd rather have the Z than a noisy pooping baby Seriously though, your ad looks great. I'm sure you'll get a quick sale.
  17. So long as its 97 or more you are fine. Don't get sucked into the hype of believing that 98 or 99 will make a significant difference.
  18. I'm a huge cat fan (also like dogs). Contrary to what some people think cats can be very loyal and loving pets. Kittens can be quite a handful but you could always consider giving a home to an older cat from a rescue centre.
  19. You will find that the lack of 370s on the road is a bonus in the positive attention and feeling a bit exclusive department
  20. Dude I was just joking about the "educated" comment. Music's subjective, although i must be getting old because that 'tune' at the eginning of this thread is so bad I thought it was a joke. Each to his own, but I can only see it being popular with the profoundly deaf!
  21. Nope. RONG Pixies are ace. Proper quality leg ends. Some of the 'songs' on here may be big, but then so are 1D. In music, popularity is not a great definition of quality. Nope. Couldn't have put it better myself. Pixies will be loved and respected years after some of these chav tunes have been forgotten for good
