I'm not sure to be honest - I think they come out of the factory like that - just worse on some than others. Other companies seem to be able to get a decent match - not sure why Nissan can't!

Much less noticeable on that colour.

My first 370 was exactly the same colour so I do know it can look worse in some lights but that is a pretty big difference. It looks a completely different colour and not a very nice one at that! I think it varies from car to car so if you bought one new it'd be pot luck! I know a plastic bumper will always look a bit different but that's too much! It would bug me to death. Oh and the wheel they chose to photograph looks to be badly scraped!

Would you have kept em if the fitment issue hadn't occurred? From your posts at the time I got the impression you were chuffed initially at least until you realised the problem was occurring. Along with spacers I've dithered over HFCs for quite a while, but the thought of all that potential hassle with the fitting has held me back. And when I hear the car from the outside with just the Stillen I think it sounds really good.

Don't worry - you should be fine. It's definitely doable. You just need to find somewhere skilled enough to do it. I think I was just unlucky. Oh and hope you don't get a chip on the callipers - there's no code for that colour either. I repaired a chip recently by mixing two red touch up paints from Halfords to get the right shade just content yourself with the knowledge that in the Black Edition you have easily the coolest variant of the 370Z to date

They sound very good apparently, provided you spec the optional sports exhaust. I could be very tempted by one but there will be so few of them I wonder how easy it will be to get hold of em.

I find the fact that these things are deliberately filmed somehow makes it much worse. Also, if it was just a supposedly harmless prank he could have just given him a nudge (still wouldn't agree with it) but that was a very hard shove that could easily have caused a serious injury if the guy had landed badly.

It's written down somewhere but from memory I think it was called Island Pearl Grey. I basically just looked at some colour cards and chose one I thought would look good with the car colour. Bit of a gamble but I was pleased with the end result.

He'll get his one of these days.

Ok.....I have some experience of this issue. You will not find a paint code because the colour is apparently created by having a black base dusted over with silver. I had a couple of unsatisfactory refurbs, as it's not an easy effect to get exactly right. I ended up going for a more conventional colour (which I now have a code for) and having them all re-done, as I got sick of the hassle and chin scratching! I've not regretted it. Pic attached which shows the current colour. I can totally understand you might not want to go down that route (you might be better at parking than me) Just be prepared to go the extra mile to find a decent refurb outfit who do a good job. I personally like having the peace of mind of being able to get a perfect match if I do get another scrape.

Nice work. A decent exhaust transforms the sound of the car I believe some people sort the knocking issue by putting a few washers in to create some extra space.......

A guy who works for Porsche and lives in my road had the R version for a while in that colour. Even though I'm not normally a Cayman fan, it did look and sound very nice. (Much nicer than that the dull grey new version of the standard Cayman that now lives in our road.)

If you have a 370 I can recommend the Stillen. Beware of fitment issues if you plan to add HFCs. Personally I think it sounds great without them and definitely doesn't drone. But, as Neilp says, looks like you might be posting in the wrong forum?

Looks just right to my eyes. I've been dithering over spacers for a long while. I had my alignment done after new tyres recently. Would I need to get it done again if I put spacers on?

That's a bummer. I changed my plates today (normal size). Could have photographed the location of the holes on the holder if I'd known.
