Clicking Axle Noise Solved - Try this first!!!!!
techinstaller replied to Mrdeli's topic in 350Z General
well had little work to do this week so i decided to try this fix for the clicky axle problem which has annoyed me for a while ,i must be honest i was not expecting this to work as i am competent with car mechanics and could not see how it should make any difference ,but as it is so easy i thought it worth a shot ,i did both sides just for good measure even though only the drivers side seemed to have the issue ,the result is 100% no more click click. Tried forward to reverse slowly ,quickly and snatchy pull off but absolutly no clicks ,just out of excitement or curiosty i doughnuted it in the workshop yard and and still no noise (except the tyres) no idea if it is permanent fix but am very pleased -
hi new to this just ran out of fuel
techinstaller replied to joeseber's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Hi and welcome ,no kill switch you have simply run out of fuel and will need to turn it over a fair bit to pull it through ,i would avoid running the car so low if you can as never like to think i am running on the bits and pieces of dirt slopping around in the tank, the tenner is not realistically going to carry you far in a 350Z -
just a thought but if the op has little mech knowledge and experiance it is also likey he has no tools ,strange no one mentions the cost of building up a basic tool kit ,half decent tool kit will cost the price of a shed, i do apprieciate that once you have the tools they yours for life but worth mentioning you are going to need a fair amount of tools to do the work

Also believe you cant take out an insurance on a vehicle that you technically have no insurable interest in ,ie if you dont own it or are not the registered keeper of ,perhaps sky insurance would comment on the idea?

+ 1 on that with the motor trade policy if you put it on MID against your policy it can very well end up coming back to you if you havent removed it ,when sold and involved in a RTC or worse hit and run or non reported accident

I think I may have bought the wrong car....
techinstaller replied to Luke0549's topic in 350Z General
If it is of any interest to you my 90 yr old gran has said she is willing to do you a level swap for the 350Z against her Nissan Micra ,although she a bit worried about the zima fitting in the boot of the 350z so that might be a bit of a deal breaker -
45 yr old buisness owner ,supplying and installing company fleet vehicle's with telematics ,tracking,Vehicle CCTV systems,PMR radio etc we seem to specialise in working with Taxi companies supplying taxi meters and installing their specific Data and comms equipment as most of the larger companies use dedicated mdt systems. i own a workshop dealing only in the vehicle electronics ,no mechanical work is undertaken as ther are plenty of garages that deal with that kind of work. i do operate a small fleet of rental taxis as part of the buisness ,but i have no involvment in any actual taxi driving or taxi company buisness operations, drivers can use the vehicle on any company that they choose within the licensed area.

2004 350Z Bose no sound on ANY mode - pulse noise
techinstaller replied to was8v's topic in 350Z General
sorry to dig this one up but been useing the search box! lent my mate the z and he calls me up and asks whats the matter with the bose stereo, never had an issue escept the cd skipping which does drive me nuts but really want to keep the original unit, any way he comes back we lock the car and unlock try again all is back to normall so i forget it, next few times i use it the stereo is fine ,till today nothing at all all day from readio or cd ,it is fully working but muted tried first with removed bluetooth dongle then removed the thb comms box under passenger glove box and re fitted then tried pulling the 15 amp fuse under the bonnet to reset then tried total vehicle battery disconect and re connect still no sound Anyone have a fix for this ,is there any kit for repair or overhaul of the bose unit ,i would be very gratefull for any pointers would have no problem with a stripdown type job if needed -

remove the amp and open it up ,i am reasonably sure you won't spot much wrong visually but i suspect the part to look at is a grey block relay which seems to give problems ,you could re solder the board connections and then find a very firm piece of foam and stick it on top of the relay unit in a position that would squash or apply pressure to the relay when you reassemble the amp, please try that and let us know if it fixes the problem as i suspect it will

The actual 'Buying' bit of buying a car
techinstaller replied to brillomaster's topic in Off Topic Discussion
TBH i would expect cash if i was selling my car any thing up to sort of 15k ,i went and bought my Z with cash 8 and 3/4 in £20's small bag wrapped in a tescos carrier bag makes easy transaction and most importantly nothing changes a deal price or the haggaling than the actual sight of pound notes about to walk away ..... -
have a look at the mki9100 or mki9200 parrot kits which are designed with the iphone and ipod in mind ,you can plug the iphone / ipod into the kit and keep it charged up if you want and have full control of the device from the h/free kit

Do you aknowledge other Zed's on the road?
techinstaller replied to ZedMeister's topic in 350Z General
I allways wave or flash and wave if i pass another Z ,but very very few 350z local to me and none as far as i can tell are on the forum -
yes you can fit a parrot handsfree kit to the 350z,and yes the s.o.t leads are readily available

Is there any likley chance or intersest of a group buy for this undertray in Black ? i rather prefer it to something shiny under the car as my OCD would make me want too keep cleaning it wouldnt be so fussy with the Black powder coated version

your whine could be as simple as 1 shite cheap tyre such as wang lee or nang kang type ,i often have cars come through my place with a similar complaint its one of the first things we check for, client describes "wheel bearing noise" straight for the tyres to see whats on there

thanks mate will try and add image if i can ,required parts are in left picture as circled
