iPad 3 (the new iPad - what a name lol) FTW. Retina display is lovely. I mine. Not cheap true, but quality. Never liked flash as a technology so I don't miss it. I must add that I got it as a 47th birthday pressie though Yes I am an apple fanboy, so biased...

I personally only buy from a real petrol supplier (97 Esso or V-Power Shell), rather than a budget greengrocer. I still remember the contamination fiasco of 2007. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_United_Kingdom_petrol_contamination It strikes me a fuel supplier that sells fuel as its main business is likely to have the better quality control in place along its supply chain. As far as I know there are less stories of Esso or Shell trashing engines (although there will always be the odd small mishap).

I've got to pipe up and agree. Once you go Mac, there's no going back. We've got Mini's, MBPs, iPhone, iPad and iPods a plenty. All work together - every one is happy. Such a difference from PC hell 6 years ago - lol. Yeah its expensive, but because it all works, you kind of get over it - like Zed owning vs shed - to add a bit of context. One caveat though is the iPhone 3GS - never was the greatest at being a phone (great as an iPod) - but that's the next upgrade in the pipe.

Doesn't always work mind you. I had been giving Precious a good polish for a couple of hours to make her even shinier for the start of the year.. A little scrote with one of those mini step scooters - who'd been tearing down our hill with his mates, asked me about the neighbour's motorbike parked a bit further down: Kid "Excuse me - is that your bike?" Me "No, it's the bloke next door's" Kid "Can you bang on his door and tell him its a nice bike?" (why couldn't he bang on the door to tell him..) Me Not a blimin word about Precious! Tut. Yoof of today.

Very nice floating fish restaurants on old steamer type boats (moored) if I remember right. Well it was nice in the 90's. Not really taxi distance though, but hire car defiantly. In fact a hire car would open up all sorts of possibilities in that area of California. I had the best business trip ever there once.

The Rover was particularly funny in that it was a 827 Vitesse with a brilliant Honda 2.7V6 in it which never missed a beat. A bit tappety at 160K miles, but strong as an ox. The Rover side of that car on the other hand was complete trash. Bits broke, paint peeled, like the car decayed daily.

A good time to catch these things is on V5 update on purchase. The form has blanks to fill in. Alternatively http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/ChangesToYourRegistrationCertificate/DG_4022054 seems to be the way forward. DVLA are more interested in what it means for taxation purposes though - as if anyone would change fuel type I can empathise with your mate for wanting every last detail document-wise straight and unambiguous though.

Weeeellll..... mine's JDM and it's got loads of documentation including export certificates in Japanese, import certificates in English, SVA, as well as clean report on all counts by the mycarcheck service etc.. However my V5 has NOT KNOWN in the engine number line. It's more like the person that first registered it didn't know where to find the id stamp (buried at the back of the block). I don't believe people would 'steal' an engine and replace it with a different good engine just to hide identity. I personally would tell your mate not to worry.
