I'm guessing from your problems that this is a 1050 speed triple? Possibly a few years old? They had major trouble with the can bus system and corrosion problems in the clocks due to water ingress/condensation which caused the dash functions to fail. As for the running issue, as long as it's been serviced recently so that you know the plugs, air filter and valve clearances are good and throttle bodies are clean and balanced, a re map at your local Triumph dealer should sort that out. I don't 'think' the running issue will be connected to the dash problem unless it's so bad it's not reading sensors correctly. I would thought if a sensor is 'out' (water, maf ) it would throw a cel.
Yes, thanks for that. It is a 2006 1050!
Not wishing to sound too thick but what is the can bus system?
I will pop it along to a dealer and have those things looked at, are the clock expensive to replace?
Many thanks for your help

Got a couple of problems with my Speed Triple, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction?
1/ On board computer doesn’t work, speedo and rev counter does the clock shows the time but can adjust anything!
2/ The bike seems to have a fuel problem. It runs fine when cold, but when you slow down to town riding and the bike is hot it seems to flood a bit and I have to rev it up to clear an then I cant get full throttle under load etc etc.
Any tips would be great, a decent bike mechanic in the North East would be great too
Thanks in advance

Depends on your confidence levels but what a bout an Aprilla 125 to start with you should be able to get a nice one for £1500 and they are plenty fast for a novice

I think they are rather good and much more discreet than the parking sensors.
I have it on good authority that XVision are planning on launching a good aftermarket one but I don’t have any details as yet.

That's cheap, its £1055 the first time around
Almost a reason not to buy a new car -
Tell me about it, having a nightmare with the bigger engined stuff because of this sort of thing.

ah happy days or saving and loading progs on a tape recorder
Yes, I had a BBC and I remember trying to load "Elite" by cassette, it was ready by the time I got in from school
Funny you mention that I was looking at an article on Elite only the other day.
I was not lucky enough to have a BBC computer so I only got to play Elite on the Commodore 64....
One bad decision I made was getting an Amstrad CPC464 what a pile of cack but then we know Lord Alan has been responsible for some rubbish over the years
My cousin had a Dragon 32, wasn't bad but I had his life for it

I literally don’t understand a word written on this thread
For that comment have a Custard Pie
The custard pie I can handle, but not the green elasticated pants

Some great pictures on this film, albeit a bit morbid.
But what a strange story

Amazing progress. I also thought No. 27 was incredible. It just shows the detrmination and dedication of the workers out there.
I also feel a strong sense that sadly should our country have suffered the same fate, we would not have the resolve and ability to make as much progress toward recovery in the same time.
I was thinking the same thing....

Just picked up on this thread.
It never ceases to amaze me how much stress folks are put under needlessly in this day and age, if you could just get on at your own pace much more would be acomplished. I have to deal with it every day, and I only pedel cars, I am not perfroming heart surgery. So pleased to hear that you have not got the position you obviuos deserve, and I am sure you will be much happier and fulfilled. Best of luck

Incredible
The quite, efficient, speedy response and resilience from the people of Japan is a credit to their society. The start of the clear up must have been overwhelming
