Cheers all, I got a preliminary quote from Sky (as rec on this forum) and also getting a Zed added to our Admiral multicar - both were £850 (well, Sky was £853) but Sky has a much lower excess and I also gather it's a much better service. Sky told me they will take my years as a named driver into consideration as long as I've retained my old insurance documents. They also said they'd want proof that I'm a member of this forum. All things considered I'm pleased with this for my first car in my name. The above was for a Zed (GT) with no mods (but will defo mention the Nismo kit if I get it). S.

Out of interest what is a full GT and a GT without the extras? We speaking about Rays and Sat Nav? According to Parkers the optional extras for the GT are: Met paint; tan leather interior and 18" RAYS alloys (http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-pric ... 0&options=) Cheers, S.

Massive thanks for your input guys - here's a copy and paste (in blue) from another thread of mine (being a bit greedy having two threads on the go - sorry mods!) with some more details on the car... I viewed the car on Saturday and was very taken with it although there were a couple of minor bad points which I'll mention in a sec. I didn't actually test drive it - I was offered to but I must admit to being slightly nervous and am going back to do a test drive with my Dad tomorrow who'll be able to detect any rattles etc better than I can. I was expecting to see quite a high amount of chipping on the bumper as I've read the Zeds seem prone to due to shape and was very suprised to see how good nic the front was in given it's age and high miles. Is there any way I can tell if the Nismo kit was factory fitted as the opitional extra? I've read conflicting reports that on the models which had the FF Nismo kit the seats and gear knob were meant to be Nismo branded but in the car I viewed it was the tan leather. Can anyone clear this up for me? Bad points about the car: * Higher miles than I ideally would have liked (86K) although I personally have a low annual mileage as I work from home. * Car has done 20k miles in the last year. * No services for 06 and 09. * Somewhat tatty interior (what looked like claw marks on the inside drivers door handle?). Unfortunately car hadn't yet been valeted by the garage which would have helped. * Smell of petrol when starting engine - other half doesn't think this is necessarily a bad sign. * Small gap between bodywork and rear light on drivers side (being a bit picky here probs). * Slight kerbing on all four alloys. * Few scratches but to be expected on age vehicle and I know the black shows 'em up! Also to note that it could do with a new tyre soonish and needs a P3 service soon. Good points * Love, love, love the Nismo kit * Is the colour (both interior and exterior) that I've always wanted. * Garage/dealer is about 20 miles away and car comes with 3 month warranty. * As luck would have it a colleague of mine knows the bloke that runs the garage and a quick phone call knocked £500 off the price before I'd set foot in the showroom. * Garage were very good at letting us view the car in peace and not at all pushy. Also more than happily gave us photocopies of the registration documents for us to check MOT history online (there were a few things it failed on in Feb 10's MOT but all delt with). Cheers for the offer of going to take a look Pete - I'm actually meant to be going for a test drive with my Dad tomorrow - is there any more info I can ping your way to save you a trip? (I only live in Chester by the way ) Also cheers to those selling your Zeds who've sent info my way. I'm just so taken with the Nismo kit on this one! S.

Thanks Hassan. The car is at an independant dealers and is listed at £9k. A colleague knows the bloke who runs the garage and I got him introduce me on the phone to the dealer and was told £8.5k as I would be paying cash. The Parkers guide price for this spec car (full GT spec) at indie dealers with 86K is about £8,400 (and about £7,800 for a GT without the extras) although from what I've seen on PistonHeads and Autotrader the Parkers guide seems a bit wide of the mark when it comes to real world prices. EDITED!! I've changed the title as I now know that the car was reg. in Oxford (thanks Pete) and the last owner was from the Selly Oak area of Birminghan and the owner before that from Newcastle near Stoke on Trent. If anyone has any info on the car then I'd be mighty grateful! Steve - hope you manage to find the perfect Zed you're after to be fair an extra £200 a year isn't an awful lot to spend but I'm unfortunately looking at the cheaper end of the market as I'm a cheapskate! I'm starting to regret my penny pinching ways though as to save cash I've always been a named driver on other people's insurance which means I've not yet got any no years claims of my own at the ripe old age of 27. Doh!

Hi all, I've seen a Zed which I've pretty much fallen in love with but from reading buyers guides to the 350s I believe that a complete service history is very important. Unfortunately this car has no service history for 06 and 09 and is a high mileage car (86K on a 54 plate with 20K being done in the last 12 months). How much of a concern should this be? The last service was in October 10 (L1); in Feb 10 it had a P1 and in Nov 08 a P2. It has mainly been serviced by Nissan apart from Feb 10 where it was a local. Cheers, S.

Hi, Sorry to crash a thread but what's an approx cost for a Potenza? I'm going for a second viewing of a Zed later and noticed on my first visit that one tyre will need replacing soon-ish and want to know an approx cost for haggling. It has Bridgestone's all round so might as well keep it that way. Cheers, S.

Thanks Steve Do you know if a FF kit would still be classed as a modification for insurance purposes? I'm also assuming that a FF would be more desirable for reselling hence the Q's Mighty nice car in the link and cheers also for that. TBH I'm after a <06 due to the lower tax. S.

Thanks for going to the trouble of checking Rabbitstew S.

Hi all, Big apologies if this is a thicko question but I viewed what I thought was a GT today but noticed that the dealer doesn't have it listed as a GT on the advert and on the registration certificate, of which the dealer gave me a copy of, there's no mention of the term 'GT' (just says '350Z' next to model/type.) I was assuming that it was a GT as it had the full tan leather interior and Bose sound system. Should the GT be specified on the reg. forms? Am I right in thinking that only the GT had the above as extras? Cheers, S.

Cheers Pete - spoke to the dealer briefly today and it does have full service. I'm off to have a look at the Zed at the weekend. As luck would have it a colleague (whom I get on very well with) of mine knows the dealer and 'broke the ice' between us on the phone before and the dealers already dropped the price for me. I want to be fully prepared when I go and view and want to be armed with all of the right questions to ask thus I'll be reading up heaps on this forum. I seem to recall reading a buyers 'faq' thing a couple of weeks ago on this site and it said checking that it's up to date with the major services is a biggie.....if anyone can point me in the right directions of other threads for the prospective buyer then I'd be mighty grateful. Thanks again all! trying not to get too excited incase there is something wrong with this Zed! S.

Cheers for your input guys! Think I might delve a bit further into this one S.

Hi all, Just wondering if any members on here have seen this Zed about or know anything of it's history? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p I know the bodykit is't to everyone's taste but I do have a rather 'vulgar' side Cheers, S. Hi all, The time has almost come that I am able to get my dirty little mitts on a much coveted Zed so thought I'd start to put the feelers out... As the title suggests I'm after a black GT pre 06 and - also want it with tan interior and low-ish miles. Although I obviously can't wait to get one as I've been waiting for quite some time so I'm willing to wait until the right one comes on the market. I don't wish to be a time waster so I will say now that it will be late July that I can buy but thought I'd post up on here incase anyone is planning on selling in the next couple of months. I'm based in Chester thus can happily travel within the north west/mids and Wales but would travel to most places within the UK for a viewing should the right car come on the market. Any PMs with any info or hints or tips would be greatly appreciated! S. PS - Mods: if this post has violated rules then big apologies.

there's a rather nice silver example that seems to be parked up in the same spec in the new racecourse carpark in city centre (where the stables used to be) which I get a good view of from my office window...just thought I'd share that for my fellow Chester based members S.

Ah. A South Islander I presume you are he's out in the Waitakere area... I do love it out in NZ.... we used to get 'Motorway Patrol' on TV out here which brought back good memories Cheers again for the warm welcomes everyone! Ricey - I think from seeing some of your posts that I'm not too far from you -you're Chester too aren't you? S.
-
Cheers Sarnie! I'm a bit surprised that you don't see 'em on the young 'uns Saxos TBH - £270 isn't much pocket money these days!

Sorry Chesterfield - didn't mean to pee you off by reviving an old thread - I thought the 'netiquette' was to search post on relevant threads rather than start new ones. My bad. I'll toddle off back to the intros/newbies forum then Was searching for 350 related stuff near me on ebay and saw the above hence my post - was more curious then anything else as was quite surprised at the price for the overall look (whether considered nice or naff) for the money. S.

Cheers again for the warm welcomes! Bronzee - I'm delighted to see a Kiwi on here - my bro lives out in Auckland and he's gonna become a proper green eyed monster when I get my Zed S.

Hi! I'm new to this forum too - not really a proper member as still not purchased mine so I'm very jealous of you! Hope you have a fun weekend with your new toy S.
