  1. Yep - that's the same woman - looks like she was wearing the same coat on day of our meeting too! I hope she's been properly sectioned by now for her sake and that of her neighbours. I had to speak to the 999 people and they were properly fed up of of her antics too - she kinda climbed halfway into my car whilst I was on the phone to them and that's when they told me she was a violent alcoholic nut. Yikes! Thankfully I didn't actually run her over by the way! Haha, I bet if the owner of the red roadster see's this thread they'd be a bit miffed by the latest content S.
  2. How rude! Did you give them a two fingered salute? I'm still too scared to drive down Pearl Lane since the local crazy lady tried to throw herself under my car a couple of years back and I certainly wouldn't want her trying the same trick with my Zed! S.
  3. Cheers Ricey and Steve Yeah, I'm pleased with the price too - I know that there's quite a few Zeds on the market for a lot less and some people might feel that I paid too much but I was happy to pay that bit extra for what I wanted. The dealer has also given me a 'gold warranty' which means I can elect to have work carried out at any garage of my choosing. Next purchase will be parking sensors - what with me only being 5'2" and the Nismo spoiler I can't see too well out the back S.
  4. Saw same roadster again today - twice in two days! - heading into Chester from Boughton at about 5.30pm this evening. Am I right in assuming that Chester has an unusually high amount of Zeds in the area? S.
  5. Doh! Dumbo me read "natty spats" as "nasty spots" I'll blame reading the post on the little screen on my mobile. Anyhoo, said Zed is mine! paid the deposit and will be collecting at the weekend. I'm unbelievably excited and thanks all again for your help and advice. The dealer would not budge on the price (although car listed as £8,995, he had reduced on first viewing to £8,500 as we have a mutal acquaintance) but before I'd seen the car I knew I wanted a black GT with leather seats and I knew I wanted to pay in the region of 8.5k. Getting one with the Nismo kit is the cherry on the iceing on the cake and having the peace of mind from buying from a dealer is all good too. This is going to be a looooooong week to wait! S.
  6. Poorboys Blackhole FTW!!!!......it can make the shittiest of cars come back to life - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=47828&hilit=passat+of+doom From those piccies it looks like its got some natty spats on the rear bumper too - they'd cost a few bob I think (pretty sure they aint standard) Heya Ricey, Sorry for the late reply- for some reason this thread was showing as not responded to on the pc so just seen your reply whilst browsing on my phone! The rear bumper is in super nic so i think the ugly marks must be reflections of my face is it the mark to the left of the light on the drivers side? That's the relflection of my white on black shelltoes if so! Headin down to the garage to hopefully tie up the sale tomorrow so wish me luck! S.
  7. Cheers Bronzee - we'll be taking over the place soon aye? Fodder - the heavily modded Zed I saw was a private plate - I'm quite sure that started with a 'W' and had a couple of 'S' so yep, it's probs the same bloke. I'm looking forward to the wave by the way! I think we can also assume that it must be the fella from Saltney Tyre Services if it had STS on the plate - I'm loving this communal detective work S.
  8. Saw a very nice 05 plate chili red roadster going through Waverton this morning (11.30am-ish). Unfortunately for the driver and passenger they were stuck in an almighty que due to the A41 being closed off due to a big smash S.
  9. I like your work JetSet! A part-time private detective! Can any of you old hands tell from the pic if that's an import? The one I saw today defo was. I was kinda hoping Mr Saltney Tyres might have been a forum member doing cheapies for fellow Zed owners but if not I guess I'll stick with tried and tested Buckley Tyres which I'm sure you use JetSet! S.
  10. To be fair I can imagine running a pub is horrendous what with twunts of customers and the triple twunts of the breweries! ...don't think you'd want to see one either! JetSet - yep, it did have one of those rear bumpers on. The fugly spoiler came up far too high which didn't suit the shape of a Zed in my opinion. You say you've seen him in Saltney - I'm led to believe that the owner of Saltney tyres has a Zed so perhaps this was him? S.
  11. Hahaha, I should probs correct you there as I'm a bird but thanks, can't wait to get my mits on it! Wow - living in the Blackdog sounds pretty fun - don't go there too much but I'm told quiz night is good. The shape of the spoiler itself was kinda like that yeah but it was supported by a big central column if that makes sense? S.
  12. There's one that lives opposite the Peacock pub (boughton) I've seen a few times, again an import. Don't want to be slating anyone on this forum but the modded one I saw looked pretty daft with the bigg-ass spoiler. Nice rims though I'm hoping to put the deposit for 'mine' down on Monday so will hopefully get a wave from you soon Ricey I'm in Waverton by the way. S.
  13. Saw a heavily modded silver import at the fountains roundabout in Chester at about 2.45pm today (Sat 2nd July) with MASSIVE whale tail wing. S.
  14. I'm CH3 and have had two quotes thusfar in the £850 region - I'm (nearly) 28 and been driving since 17 but I've always been a named driver so no proper 'no claims' in my name - I'm pretty pleased with those quotes to be fair. I'm only 3 miles from Chester city centre too.
  15. Hi OP I'm hoping to purchase my first Zed next week - been after one for a while - had a test drive yesterday and fell in love instantly I'm moving over from an Almera by the way S.
  16. Sounds like a good plan! My initial budget was £8,500 but I was ideally after a Zed with lower miles and wouldn't want to pay more than £8k for this one. I'm a right bugger for a bargain but not used to haggling with car dealers and don't want to be laughed at and told to f-- off if I go in too low. I'm going to go back on Monday to try and complete the sale. I'm thinking that most garages have their interest from prospective buyers on a Saturday/Sunday and I'm hoping that they wouldn't have any enquiries of the Zed this weekend so when I pop down on Monday they'll be more inclined to listen to my offer. Another good plan! I'm a t-shirt printer by trade and use the same kit that's used for decals - will have to be restrained else the poor little Zed'll end up with 'go fast stripes' all over S.
  17. Cheers for the merge Chris and thanks for the confirm Pete - I suspected that was the case with the lights Any opinions on how much I can haggle 'em down to? S.
  18. I've been a bit greedy and seem to have two similar threads on the go (will ask mod to merge) - here's my report of the test drive
  19. I'm in love! had an awesome time on the test drive - thought I was going to make a right tit out of myself and goof the gears up but seemed to take to it straight away (maybe as my current car is a Nissan?). There were however a couple of noises which shouldn't have been there which the dealer forwarned us of (although we'd obviously have heard them) - one being caused by a wheel bearing and the other from the heat shield which the dealer has promised will be fixed up. There's a mechanical garage on site and the Zed would also come with full MOT and service and 3 months warranty. We suspect that it has had a little bump in the past as the two rear lights look different - on the drivers side there's a slight gap between the casing and the bodywork (dealer says this will be sorted) and also there's red casing on drivers side and not on the other. The paintwork is all fine and no bumps or scratches on the rear. Here's pics of the rear lights: With regard to cosmetic damage in general it's in good nic for the age but of course there are a few little scratches which I guess show on a black car. The worst body damage is on the lower wheel arch on the drivers side. Pic here: I really, really did love this Zed and just need to plan my negotiating now - listed on the garage's website and Autotrader for £8,995 but when my colleague, who knows the dealer, enquired on my behalf they said £8,500 to him (this was before I visited the garage). Any thoughts? Thanks again as ever all - reckon I'll have to get a round in on my first meet S.
  20. cheers guys - will be snap happy when I go back for the test drive tomorrow and, at the risk of being a bit cheeky, might post up a few pics for experts opinions. Thanks again all! S.
  21. Thanks again guys - I'm really grateful to you all and really appreciate all the help and the warm welcomes from this forum. Will most certainly report back tomorrow AM! S.
  22. Not yet - I was offered when I went to view on Saturday but daft as it sounds I knew I'd get a bit too nervous with the dealer in the car so I'm going back with my Dad tomorrow who knows far more about engines than I do so will go for a spin with him. Bless him, he's even going to get his ears syringed in the morning so he can hear properly Any tips or pointers for us? Cheers, S.
  23. Cheers RabbitStew & Cereal - much appreciated Yikes! Hope having a fistful of soverigns isn't a prerequisite for having a Zed Is the interior of the facelift models as prone to these marks? They don't bother me too much - I was just wondering whether the owner was driving round with a big dog on his lap (a canine I mean for you dirty minded sorts!). S.
  24. OP - at the risk of stating the bleeding obvious have you tried adding an experienced driver (ie one of the folks) to see how much it brings your premiums down? To be fair it'll probs still be a shocker but might take a few quid off. S.
  25. Sweet - thanks for that - sounds like an easy enough job - even for the likes of me S.
